Autumn-Winter 2013 Nail Trends

Autumn-Winter 2013 Nail Trends

Nails should look super-groomed, whatever colour or texture trend you buy during autumn-winter 2013.

  • This AW13 natural nails- no colors, simple shapes are in. For  soft, glossy, well groomed look keep nails looking short and square with rounded corners. You can use two coats of Mavala Natural for a  well groomed look. For those who don’t like short and square, update your long almond or summer’s ‘stiletto’ shape nails as they did at the Mark Fast show during London Fashion Week.

  • Berry shades and wine stains are big for tips this winter. Anthony Vaccarello's show at Paris Fashion Week tried Estée Lauder Pure Color in Black Plum this season. There is no doubt that deep dark shades looked perfect for the dark nights of winter.

  • Return to red, the classic nail shade that oozes glamour and ladylike luxury - especially when twinned to your lippy and vintage garms. True red nails were seen at Valentino, Meadham Kirchoff and Antonio Beradi where, matched to the lips, the Revlon Red polish was used with a layer of Inflame on top. At Reem Acra, the colour was more rouge noir, while at Elie Saab, the nails were bordering on black, thanks to a darker berry tone with a heavy shine.

  • The high-shine effect is always popular on the catwalk but this season, it was bronze, gold shades that really made their mark. A top tip? Keep nails short, as seen at Just Cavalli  and Felder Felder

  • For those of you who like to try nail art- create your own out-of-this-world nail art. Do it yourself by applying various colors in small dots, starting with the darkest shade, then swirl the polish with a thin paintbrush and finish with a layer of topcoat.

Marry your nails with your accessories and mirror them with your makeup. Matchy matchy is back.
