Aggressive Breast Cancer

Aggressive Breast Cancer

Price: $118.62

Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 business days.

Product Description: Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer in women and the second most common cause of cancer death in women in the U.S. While the majority of new breast cancers are diagnosed as a result of an abnormality seen on a mammogram, a lump or change in consistency of the breast tissue can also be a warning sign of the disease. Heightened awareness of breast cancer risk in the past decades has led to an increase in the number of women undergoing mammography for screening, leading to detection of cancers in earlier stages and a resultant improvement in survival rates. Still, breast cancer is the most common cause of death in women between the ages of 45 and 55. This book presents the latest research in the field.

Product Description: You simply say, "Oh, no, this can't be cancer!" You talk to God like never before. And you realize it is time to get in touch with your inner self to learn who you really are. You ask questions like: "How will I come out of this, mentally and spiritually?" "Will I make it?" "Will my family make it? Have I prepared them for such a bumpy road?" Through it all, you learn to lean on God like never before, as well as on your praying friends. When treatment is over and good reports start coming in, you realize that you are a changed person. You have a new attitude about yourself; you realize you have a caring concern for others going through a similar trial. My desire is to reach out to those hurting "others", to give them hope and brighten their days. Perhaps, ultimately, even to encourage them in their personal relationship with God. Darrell Parrish is the only child of Dr. Fuchsia Pickett, renowned Bible teacher and author. Darrell was born and raised in Eden, North Carolina.

Product Description: Anyone who hears the dreaded word "chemotherapy" naturally experiences feelings of fear and apprehension. For Steve Givens that one word was the beginning of a new chapter in his life, one that would change him in profound ways. He believes that a brotherhood and sisterhood exists between those who have battled a chronic disease or undergone chemotherapy. They know one another's pain, numbness, and exhaustion. They smile at one another when they meet in the hallway or while blood is drawn because they can relate and because they know. And here he shares his story with "kin," those who, like him, have no choice but acceptance. <P> He still experiences times of pain, confusion, and sadness on his journey to wellness, but he also feels renewed and reborn spiritually.

Surviving Cancer as a Family (Disability Insights and Issues)

Price: $44.95

Availability: Usually ships in 1-2 business days.

Product Description: Each year, some 1.5 million people in the United States are diagnosed with cancer. The shock sends waves of fear through many more millions who are their family members. It's difficult enough to face the initial fear and anxiety caused by a cancer diagnosis, but that is followed by the difficult, tenuous, and sensitive questions: What can I do? What should I say? How can I help?

Family members of individuals diagnosed with cancer are, themselves, cancer survivors. Yet, all too often, their needs, questions, and concerns are not systematically addressed by the medical and human services systems. Surviving Cancer as a Family was written to help everyone touched by cancer understand and cope.

Product Description: Before entering every new substance - either edible or hygienic, and especially medicines and toxins ? into the distribution cycle, it is urgent and necessary to do detailed tests to challenge its safety in use and the side effects of that material. One of these tests is related to the cancerogenity of the substances, which are done until now based on the international protocols that are called: classic tests. Concluding my research in the University of Hamburg in Germany, it was clear that these experiments are not conclusive. There was known substances which are proved to be cancerogenic and highly risky, but they are entered in the consumption cycle in the world. Research showed that a non-classical mechanism helps these materials to produce cancer. This machanism was modeled, and it is suggested to use non-classical tests in the safety experiments of materials.

Product Description: Enrichment of CICs based on ALDH activity Cancer research obliges hope for enumerate cancer patients and their families. The goal is to find effective treatments. The current treatment methods fail over insufficient targeting of cancer initiating cells (CICs), which cause the relapse of cancer after treatment. Therefore, defining CICs is crucial for the development of more effective cancer treatments. In this study, the primary goal was to establish an in vivo system to evaluate the aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) enzyme activity based enrichment for CIC by using ALDEFLUOR-cell staining system. We have functionally tested our hypothesis using an immunodeficient mouse model to assay for enriched CIC tumor formation. Overall, our results indicate that ALDEFLUOR based sorting has the potential to enrich for CICs, which would benefit and be applied in clinical use for the diagnosis, prognosis and even more profound implications for the treatment of cancer, as it is these CICs that must be targeted to achieve cure.
