New Happening

From a dietary standpoint, majority of us go for the quickie, and the point of eating is to finish. Finish and then do something else. Thus, the process of eating becomes nothing more than the interval before we’ve satisfied our urge so we can go back to “important” things. Enjoying your food doesn't mean getting to the end as fast as you can. It means spending as little time eating as possible! This week we focus on Relationship with food: a rolling factor in weight loss.

Hot Fitness Tip of the week
How do you know if you are training too intensely or not intensely enough for what you want to achieve ? This is where Heart Zone Training comes in. To use Heart Zone Training you must first determine your maximum heart rate (max HR).

You can determine your max HR one of two way., One way is to use the age predicted max HR formula, whereby you subtract your age from 220. So, if you are 40 years old, your predicted max HR would be 180 bpm. The other method, which is much more accurate and more individualized, is actually having a medical or fitness professional administer a max HR test for you, which is usually done on a stationery bicycle or treat mill for several minutes and requires very hard work. Thus, only those women cleared by a physician should do this test.

Words of Inspiration

The power of words

Take any product, be it a computer, a book, a television or a chair. Look at how the product is promoted. Are powerful words used? 99 percent of the time, you will find that positive word power is used to build up an image.

Words with power create a dominant image or an impression in our minds. Use positive affirmations to achieve positive results. No matter how adverse the circumstances, you need to work on the posibilities available in order to seek results.

Relationship with food: a rolling factor in weight loss

We all have relationships: with our parents, children, partners, and co-workers. We have also seen that, for better or worse, we have a relationship with our food. To have a healthy relationship with food means that one is able to eat for the reasons of physiological rather than emotional hunger and to stop eating at a point when the body and mind are truly satisfied. In order to have a healthy relationship with food, one must first have permission to eat. Our diet mentality has robbed us of even having permission to eat.

Many of us don't even know when we're hungry or comfortably satisfied. If our urge to eat is triggered by external situations such as the time of day or the availability of food, we may lose the awareness of our body's messages of hunger.
