The Ideal Body With Findings From MYA

The Ideal Body With Findings From MYA

MYA recently conducted a study whereby 1,000 men and women were asked which celebrity they believed to have the perfect figure. Not surprisingly, Kim Kardashian and David Beckham ranked highest; Kim is famously known for her beautiful hourglass figure, which is the epitome of sexiness in most men and womens eyes, whilst Davids slim but muscular physique has been idolized for many years.

In the female category Beyonc came in at a close second, with her bum, legs and abs voted the best. Channing Tatum took second place in the mens category winning best abs.

The study reveals that the modern day perception of beauty hasnt changed since the 1950s, as curvy, pin-ups girls and muscular V-shaped men were the most desired of that era.

Alongside Kim Kardashian and Beyonc, Jennifer Lopez ranked highly on the perfect body list of celebrities. This again reinforces our perception of beauty, as Jennifers figure is perfectly toned, curvy and hourglass shaped. Megan Fox, Cheryl Cole and Cameron Diaz also made the list. Brad Pitt, Ashton Kutcher and Cristiano Ronaldo also made the mens list. Their physiques mirror the ever coveted V-shape; broad, muscular shoulders, a toned midriff and a wide back. The full list of results can be found here

Men and women shouldnt be discouraged by these results. The results show that the ideal body shape for women isnt actually down to being bootylicious or big-busted, its just about being in proportion. For men, the same goes, being as ripped as Channing Tatum or Cristiano Ronaldo isnt key as the slimmer David Beckham took first place for most categories. All three men have proportional bodies.

Overall, the study displays reassuring results. Whilst cultural trends continue to thrive, such as size 0 catwalk models and extreme body builders, ultimately men and women will consistently choose healthier, natural figures.
