Make-Up at a glance at Spring 2014 Fashion Week

Check out on the jaw-dropping gorgeous hairmakeup, and nail creations that left us inspired and amazed.

  • With more people willing to experiment with bolder and brighter shades, the major color of the season appeared to be blue in every imaginable shade. Seen lining the eyes of Marc Jacobs in an electric hue and gently sweeping across the upper lids in pale aqua at Badgley Mischka, this trend is versatile in its execution and completely open for interpretation. This thinnest blue line gave the models a sweet, approachable pop of color.

  • In the world of lip color, neon and muted pastels took center stage.  Designers including DKNY, Prabal Gurung and rag & bone sent their models down the runway in bright tints including orange, pink and lilac, complemented by nude makeup elsewhere, making the “model look” slightly more practical for daily wear this season. Most memorably, Marchesa sent models down the runway with a burgundy-tinted lip, and stood as one of the few collections to experiment with a darker color palette.

  • At Calvin Klein models’ lids were dusted with a sheer swipe of bronze shadow, giving their faces a sculptural, ethereal glow.

  • Tom Pecheux gave models a delicate aura with a diffuse wash of sky blue shadow up to the brow bones; hair was rolled into softly rumpled updos by Peter Gray. Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color in Ice from lid to crease, then, along the natural curve of the eye, drew a “crescent, half-moon shape” of the electric blue Eye Color Bar, a limited-edition product that just launched this month.

  • To create that weightless effect , french film stars, makeup artist Matin Maulawizada  blended brick red Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Modwith rosy Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Brigitte. As for the hair, Ted Gibson gathered thoroughly teased, bumped-up strands into rough side pony.

  • Make-Up at a glance at Spring 2014 Fashion WeekMatte orange lip and streamlined side ponytail, was courtesy of Eugene Souleiman, at DKNY. To keep the vibrant tone precise, makeup artist Charlotte Willer rimmed lips in Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Liner in Nude before filling in the shape with a few brushstrokes of Maybelline Color Elixir Lipcolor in Mandarin Rapture, which comes out in November.

  • Charlotte Tilbury, working with MAC, gave models one of three candy colored lip shades: bubblegum pink, cherry red, and tangerine orange.

  • At Ruffian, creamy nude nails were edged with bright shades of metallic violet, poppy red, and army green. At another end, models were given long and sharply pointed white nails that were finished with a reflective silver racing stripe placed horizontally down the center.

  • Makeup artist Diane Kendal, working with Lancôme, gave models blinged-out eyes by dusting a bronze shadow across the lids, and then topping it with a generous sprinkle of rose-gold glitter in the center. Some models' eyes were dusted with either a halo of citron green or violet shadow; lips were finished with a clear high-shine gloss.

With regards to hair,  some models got structured, sculptural creations courtesy of Bumble and bumble stylist Amy Farid. Others sported twisty, haphazard chignons and pony tails.
