Sunbeam(R), the maker of innovative consumer products that simplify busy
lifestyles, is warming up October as part of a new partnership with the Canadian
Breast Cancer Foundation. To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sunbeam will
launch a Pink Microplush Warming Throw, proceeds from which will be directed to
the Foundation to raise funds for breast cancer research and education programs
across Canada. Sunbeam will also donate a number of these warming throws to
breast cancer patients and survivors at breast cancer centres across the
country.
"It is impossible to ignore the national statistic that one in nine Canadian
women is expected to develop breast cancer if she lives to age 90*. We are
thrilled to partner with the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation as this cause is
one that Sunbeam holds particularly close to heart," said Nadège Kéléchian,
Director of Marketing for Sunbeam.
"This is a great new partnership and the limited edition Sunbeam Pink Microplush
Warming Throw is a unique product," said Colleen Fleming, CEO for the Canadian
Breast Cancer Foundation, Central Office. "We are proud of partners like Sunbeam
who are committed to making a difference."
Kicking off Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Sunbeam will donate 31 pink
microplush throws-representing the 31 days in October-to each of six breast
