COLUMBUS - The Ohio chapter of the Partnership to Fight Chronic Disease is
announcing its establishment today during a news conference featuring community
leaders including Jack Ford, Toledo's former mayor.
Launched nationally in May, the partnership is an organization of professionals
in health care, business, and labor.
It is trying to raise awareness of public policies and practices that help
patients and reduce health-care costs through more effective prevention and
management of such chronic diseases as asthma, cancer, and diabetes.
More than 20 organizations have joined the effort in Ohio.
