Toxic toothpaste found across the
country
July 9, 2007
The Police and health service workers across the country are now
reported to have withdrawn 100,000 tubes of illegally imported
toothpaste.
It comes as there are concerns that some of the toothpaste could
contain a toxin.
Several Spanish hospitals are reported to have given patients
toothpaste which could be infected.
Analysis by the Spanish Ministry for Health has confirmed that a
dozen of the tubes analysed contained a toxin. The toothpaste
brand, Tri Leaf Spearmint is thought also to have been
distributed to hotels and airlines.
It follows similar cases in the United States, where 900,000
tubes of toothpaste have been withdrawn.
