Women cancer screening set

The Utah Cancer Control Program, a joint effort of the state Department of Health and the Davis County Health Department, is providing free breast and cervical cancer screening clinics for women.
Each exam includes a breast exam, Pap test and a free mammogram voucher for those who qualify. A registered nurse performs all the exams; fees are based on a sliding scale.

"Breast cancer will strike more than 200,000 times this year and claim more than 40,000 lives in the United States," said Davis Health director Lewis Garrett.

State St., Annex Building, Tuesday Aug. 3 and Aug. 31, Spanish translator available; Lakeview Hospital, 630 E. Medical Drive in Bountiful, Thursday, Aug. 5 (same-day mammograms available); Bountiful clinic in Woods Cross, 596 W. 751 South, Tuesdays, Aug. 10, Aug. 17 and Aug. 24; and Layton clinic, 1600 W. Antelope Drive, Thursdays, Aug. 12, 19 and 26 (same-day mammograms available).
