Women cancer screening set
July 22, 2004
The Utah Cancer Control
Program, a joint effort of the state Department of Health and the Davis
County Health
Department, is providing free breast and cervical cancer screening clinics
for women.
Each exam includes a breast exam, Pap test and a free mammogram voucher for
those who qualify. A registered nurse performs all the exams; fees are based
on a sliding scale.
"Breast cancer will strike more than 200,000 times this year and claim more
than 40,000 lives in the United States," said Davis Health director Lewis
Garrett.
