the beans to include your favourites.

Ingredients

5 ml / 1 tbsp olive oil

1 medium red onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, crushed

150 ml / 1/4 pint / 2/3
cup passata

2 large sprigs fresh or dried thyme

115 g / 4oz / 1 1/2 cups frozen or fresh
French beans

432 g / 15 oz can cannelini beans salt and black pepper
Directions

Heat the olive oil and fry the onion and garlic
gently for 10 minutes until softened but not browned.

Add the passata and thyme
and bring to the boil. Add the French beans, then cover and simmer gently
for 5 - 8 minutes until tender.

Add the cannelini beans,
season well and serve with thin slices of wholemeal toast.
