Tests find 9 diet products
don't help in slimming down
September 14, 2004
TOKYO — Animal tests have shown that nine types of diet products do not
produce slimming effects as advertised by their manufacturers, officials at
a national health laboratory said Tuesday. The product names were not
disclosed.
The Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare plans to urge the companies to
remedy the situation if it determines that they violated the health
promotion law that bans false advertising. (Kyodo News)
