Sugar alcohols are the primary reason for bloated lower stomach. The same can be said for carbonated beverages in general. The extra air in the drinks can contribute to extra air in the stomach, which causes an enlarged abdomen. Food allergies are another common culprit for bloating and indigestion, which can make your lower abdominal region "pouch" out. This week's article focuses on Overcoming Stomach bloating with Yoga.

Hot Fitness Tip of the week

Trans fats are artificial fats made when hydrogen gas reacts with oil-- by a process called hydrogenation. Hydrogenation increases the shelf life and flavor stability of foods containing these fats. Trans fats pose a higher risk of heart disease than saturated fats, which were once believed to be the worst kind of fats. While it is true that saturated fats -- found in butter, cheese and beef, for example -- raise total cholesterol levels, trans fats go a step further. Trans fats not only raise total cholesterol levels, they also deplete good cholesterol (HDL), which helps protect against heart disease.

Avoid foods labeled "hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated canola, soybean or cottonseed oil."

Words of Inspiration

Fulfillment

How can your life be full if your thoughts and actions are empty? The effort and essence that you put into each day, will determine what you get out of the day.

Clever shortcuts which promise reward without effort, will only bring the empty facade of success. To experience the genuine joy of being alive, you must live life with all the grainy details.

The things you think you want are mere symbols of your true desires. Thoughts and words, and the things they address, can only point the way. Fulfillment comes in the experience, for which there is no substitute.

Meaning is found not in the rewards, for they are only tokens. Seek not to have the gold medal. Instead, seek to be the person who can win the gold medal. It is in the quest that you'll find the fulfillment which the reward represents.

Overcoming Stomach bloating with Yoga

Sugar alcohols are the primary reason for bloated lower stomach. The same can be said for carbonated beverages in general. The extra air in the drinks can contribute to extra air in the stomach, which causes an enlarged abdomen. Food allergies are another common culprit for bloating and indigestion, which can make your lower abdominal region "pouch" out.

Once you have analyzed the cause of stomach bloating the task lies ahead is of finding ways to overcome it. Yoga can to some extent offer you solution to the problem of stomach bloating.

Check out the exercises indicated and practice them regularly to overcome stomach bloating.

Back Stretch: Lie on your back and place your hands beneath your hips. Ease your hips and legs upward until your feet end up over your head. It's OK if your feet don't touch the floor as long as you're still getting a good stretch. Take long, deep breaths and hold the pose for 10 seconds. Move your head around while you're breathing to avoid neck cramping. Repeat 2-3 times. This position often releases some trapped air, which can be an instant relief when you're trying to reduce bloating.
