Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar had a candid interview with Alejandra Gil ‘Camilita’ an elite fitness model where she talks about her workout, diet, hair & skin care, beauty secrets and her success story.

Namita Nayyar:

You were born in Cartago, Colombia. You are presently one of the leading fitness models and Instagram star. You are also the mother of two children. Tell us more about this fairy tale journey as a leading fitness model?

Alejandra Gil:

Hello, thank you very much . Do you know something? What strikes me is that I have never considered myself a leader in the industry. I have always looked at other girls who have been around a lot longer than me that have inspired my appreciation for the industry and all the work we put in. My journey has been incredible so far, with so many people supporting me, especially in the US, where I always get a great reception each and every time I visit. I love the kindness of all my fans.

Namita Nayyar:

A healthy morning ritual that you follow?

Alejandra Gil:

Always drink a glass of water on an empty stomach and plan the rest of the day in terms of meals and training time.

Namita Nayyar:

What motivated you to take up fitness modeling as a career?

Alejandra Gil:

Modeling actually found me. I’ve always focused on training to compete which is what I really love but with so many brands and sponsors asking for photo shoots to promote their products it was an easy transition. Not to mention it was financially rewarding.

Namita Nayyar:

You are a model, Instagram sensation, and a mother, which role do you think defines you the best?

Alejandra Gil:

Mother and Athlete! I am proud to be known as both.

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises is an integral part of your home workout routine? Five must-do mornings stretches. How do you like to unwind in the night?

Alejandra Gil:

For me, the most integral and important part every day before any training is stretching, joint mobility and exercises with bands to activate the body.

Namita Nayyar:

It is known that you love Cross fit training. Tell us more about your Cross fit routine?

Alejandra Gil:

During normal times, pre COVID-19, I try to train 2 times a day at 10:30 AM until 12:30 PM and then from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM. If not, I can do a single longer session in the morning.

Namita Nayyar:

Your meal before and after a workout? The secret to a slim torso.

Alejandra Gil:

My food before training in nutritional values is 30 grams of carbs, 7.5 to 15 grams of healthy fat and 20 grams of protein. The sources of these macronutrients vary every day. After the training only increases about 15 grams or 30 carbohydrates but the rest is equal accompanied by a lot of green salad.

The secret is that there is no secret. Eat right and burn more calories than you consume.

Namita Nayyar:

Favourite meal of the day? What does it contain?

Alejandra Gil:

My favourite food of the day is snacks around 4 pm. It usually contains dried nuts, seeds, fruits, Whey Protein or Greek Yogurt.

Namita Nayyar:

Top 3 healthy snack options? One diet secret you would like to share on Women Fitness?

Alejandra Gil:

-15 grams of rolled oats, 15 grams of almonds and 1 scoop of protein Zero Carb

-1 Greek Yogurt with Chia seeds and 1 banana

-100 Strawberries with 240ml of Almond Milk with Walnut Nuts.

Alejandra Gil:

A woman must be really strong while retaining her feminine figure, strong arms, firm butt, defined legs and a sculpted back make a beautiful, fit and sexy woman.  This is accomplished by hard work, clean diet and a life of well-being. No deceptions and no drugs.

Namita Nayyar:

Alejandra Gil:

I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to train at home using my equipment I own. I design a home training plan and always give my best no matter how uncomfortable the exercise.

Namita Nayyar:

Biggest fitness/weight loss myth that needs to be busted?

Alejandra Gil:

The biggest myth is that carbohydrates must be eliminated to lose weight. If you can consume them you should only learn what is best for your body.

Extreme thinness and obesity must be abolished and treated psychologically.

Namita Nayyar:

Athleisure brands that you love? What sets you apart from others?

Alejandra Gil:

I love many brands, Bear Komplex, Nike, and Reebok and in terms of sports supplementation VPX SPORTS is the best

Namita Nayyar:

Your favourite holiday destination?

Alejandra Gil:

I would like to visit many places: Polynesia, Virgin Islands, Mykonos, Thailand & Riviera Maya. I love visiting Florida whenever I get a chance but would also to return to Las Vegas if given the chance.

Resolutions or goals for 2020?

Alejandra Gil:

Go back to competition mode and hit my maximum level before the end of the year. My goal is to be rated at the top of my country and be ready to compete internationally.
