Namita Nayyar:

Alex, you are a full time presenter & model and the host of 3 travel TV shows on travel channel Travelxp HD / Travelxp 4K (Quest, Backpack & Off The Grid) shown in 20+ countries. Congratulations! for the same and share with us your journey to this proud achievement?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

Thank you for the lovely introduction. I’ve worked for Travelxp as an anchor for around 5 years now and I love my job! I actually presented my first show Quest after being selected as the winner of a cooking competition judged by UK Masterchef John Torode! The channel at the time were looking for a model/presenter who could cook and I fit the bill!

Namita Nayyar:

While being a presenter on the popular travel TV shows on SKY channel Globetrotter TV in the UK what has been your most memorable experience that has stayed on with you?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

I actually went to Eastern Caribbean for the first time with Globetrotter TV which was great. Caribbean time is relaxed and laid back, they love to party and the food is delicious so I was really happy to film there.

Namita Nayyar:

Travelling can be exciting as well as intimidating. Your tips on how one can make any holiday or trip a memorable one?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

I think that immersing yourself in the local culture always makes it memorable. Perhaps you can try local food or stay with a family, or take part in a local festival so you can learn about the customs and way of life.

Namita Nayyar:

You posses a fit body. 5 tips to build a healthy physique?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

Thanks! Everything in moderation, I don’t stop myself having anything but if I’ve had a more unhealthy lunch then perhaps for dinner I’ll make sure it’s something healthy with plenty of vegetables and protein. I drink a lot of water and when I’m back in the UK I go to the gym around 4 times a week.

Namita Nayyar:

Food can be bothersome while travelling. What do you eat while travelling and on regular basis? 5 foods you avoid in diet and 3 that are a must?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

I don’t avoid any foods but I have had to try and cut back a little on the amount of bread that I eat…although this is hard because I love bread so much. A diet should include as much variety in fruit and vegetables as possible and my mum always says that as many colours from fresh vegetables as possible is also good. I take this on board and a lot of my meals involve all kinds of colours…red pepper, green courgette, purple eggplant, orange sweet potato!

Namita Nayyar:

Your daily skin & hair routine? 4 sun-protection tips while travelling?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

I wear SPF on my face daily including back in the UK. I drink a lot of a water to look after my skin and also use a skin oil before bed.

Namita Nayyar:

Share a life shaking experience you had while at work for an episode of TV show?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

Well I broke my ankle filming my last TV show in India. It was incredibly painful but I kept working and took a lot of painkillers…not recommended but I had to finish the show!

Namita Nayyar:

Your inspirational role model?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

I’m a fan of Levison Wood. He’s an adventurer and explorer with some fantastic books about his projects including when he walked the length of the Himalayas. He also presents some great shows on TV that are funny and informative.

Namita Nayyar:

Your advice for upcoming models who set out to achieve a career in the modelling world?

ALEX OUTHWAITE:

Nowadays it’s important to build up a bit of a profile for yourself as well as perhaps having an agent. I started a blog at http://www.alifewelltravelled.co.uk which documents my journey and I also run my own Instagram and YouTube page. It just helps show clients what you are capable of!

Namita Nayyar:

Women Fitness team works relentlessly to bring women across the globe the best in health & fitness. What do you have to say about our website?

Alex outhwaite:

It’s always great to be involved with a passionate team especially one that focuses on health and fitness and I’m very thankful to be asked these questions.
