Ann Louie Li

Ann Louie Li is a Filipino-Chinese-Taiwanese actress, model and fashion blogger who has garnered more than a million followers on Facebook. She has a photography blog called Annsnaps, which provides fashion and lifestyle tips to her many fans. In 2017, Forbes magazine listed her on their “30 Under 30” Asia List under “The Arts” and is the youngest on the list at 22.

With incredible successes coming her way, Ann Louie Li is definitely one of the youngest, most inspiring businesswomen. Lets take you into her life and what drives this 23 year old star!

Namita Nayyar:

At the age of 14 , you decided to be homeschooled and pursue figure skating, but soon entered the fashion world. You’ve had quite an incredible journey! It appears you always had a zeal for business. Where do you think that came from?

Ann Louie Li:

Both of my parents are entrepreneurs and I’ve always been interested in trying new things, I started my first business at the age of 15 when I opened my own online clothing line, I didn’t know what I was doing but I ended up having my collections worn by models in magazines and had lots of fun doing it. I’m always up for new challenges and my family has always been very supportive of me, especially my Mum is a businesswoman herself. 🙂

Namita Nayyar:

Being a businesswoman, fashion influencer, former actress, model, photographer, and television personality, which role defines your personality the best?

Ann Louie Li:

I think I’m a bit of everything, I’ve always been a creative person and I always find inspiration from everything, everywhere. I think most of us have interest in not just one particular activity/field and we’re lucky to live in a world now where we can express ourselves the way we want.

Namita Nayyar:

You look absolutely fit and healthy. Share with us the workout routine that you follow to look this way, especially while on the go, around the world?

Ann Louie Li:

Woowww thank you! I used to figure skate and did lots of workouts off ice to keep in shape and now that I don’t skate as often anymore, I found a love for boxing so I do that whenever I can. Sometimes some of the hotels I stay at even offer private boxing classes so I would always join! I also like to do a bit of yoga and stretching at home so that I can stay flexible. To be honest, I eat a lot but it’s all about balance you in life, you know? So after eating and a long night of partying, I would try my best to wake up early and go out for a run because running isn’t my favorite, but that’s what I would do if I think I’ve eaten wayyyyy wayyy too much and kind of “let go” for a few days.

Namita Nayyar:

Since you travel a lot and stay at some very luxurious locations, how do you cope to eat healthy? What do you like to have for dinner? Do you have cheat days too?

Ann Louie Li:

I am not much of a meat person, most of my family members are vegan and vegetarian. My mum was vegetarian when she was pregnant till I was born so I was pretty much born vegetarian and was till I was probably 1 and so I think that affected my upbringing. I would usually order more greens and devour more on the dessert. I try my best to choose the healthier option but I personally love to eat so much and I just try to workout the next day but generally I don’t restrict myself so much when I’m traveling. I always have cheat days of course! Once I start feeling guilty then I know it’s time to workout double the next day! 😛 As I mentioned, it’s all about balance in life. 😀

Namita Nayyar:

What inspired you to start your photography blog called AnnSnaps? It has now grown into a lifestyle platform ANN LOUIE LI (AnnLouieLi.com). What led to this transformation?

Ann Louie Li:

When I moved to Paris, I was really young and didn’t know how I would be able to share my adventures/outfits with my followers and because I LOVE LOVE taking pictures all the time, I thought okay. It’s time to be on the other side of the lens and use this way of showing the beautiful places that I would travel to but of course I wanted to share more. Until now I’m still trying to think of how to make the website better, there will be some changes soon and new projects coming so I think there will be lots of transformations coming. 🙂

Namita Nayyar:

Running multiple businesses can be stressful too, how do you manage stress?

Ann Louie Li:

Being alone gives me peace. I sometimes go “offline” literally for days. I would jot down ideas and try to clear my mind and not get distracted with social media. This really helps me and makes me appreciate the world around me more.

Namita Nayyar:

You have been rated as Forbes 30 Under 30, the youngest on the list at 22. How do you feel about this incredible achievement?

Ann Louie Li:

It is such an honour for me, really. I believe this is just the beginning and there’s so much more I want to do. I hope that this will inspire other people to ‘Never Give Up’ and to never stop chasing their dreams no matter what age and no matter if people believe them or not as long as they believe in themselves then anything is possible!

Namita Nayyar:

Share with us your most favourite travel destinations to go to in 2019?

Ann Louie Li:

Wow, I haven’t thought about it but I honestly would love to go to another continent. I’ve always been in Europe and Asia and it’s definitely time to travel to the US and explore that side of the world. But my dream destination would be the Maldives, Tanzania, Morocco, Egypt, Mexico, .. whew that’s a lot! Of course, I also want to travel more locally in my countries (Taiwan & The Philippines) cause believe it or not I haven’t seen as much as I should in both countries!

Namita Nayyar:

What does a day off with friends look like?

Ann Louie Li:

During the day, find a nice cafe and enjoy ICED COFFEE (I can’t enjoy hot coffee even during winter :P) and at night find a nice place to enjoy a good cocktail with good music, but not too loud so we can talk.

Namita Nayyar:

Your favourite activewear brands are?

Ann Louie Li:

Adidas, Stronger, hmm, most of the time, I like to try new brands and support local brands especially when I’m traveling.

Namita Nayyar:

A lot of celebrities are talking about the pressures of social media. What do you feel is the best way to deal with it?

Ann Louie Li:

I’ve been on social media since I was 14 and It’s already a huge part of my life, I literally can’t remember or imagine my life without it. Of course, I do get pressured some times too but at the end of the day, only you can decide what affects you or not. It’s all about perspectives for me. I mostly don’t read or even scroll as much. I’m more selective and try to spend less time browsing and more time creating content and doing what makes me happy.

Namita Nayyar:

Best memory from your first ever photoshoot.

Ann Louie Li:

I think my first photoshoot ever was with my family. Most of my family live in different parts of the world and we all gathered together in Taiwan for Chinese New Year and decided to have a proper family photoshoot. I was 7 and I was happy to be able to see my family (almost) complete which was a rare occasion.

Namita Nayyar:

Your morning beauty ritual before a photoshoot? Your haircare routine includes?

Ann Louie Li:

I would definitely apply a facial mask before a photoshoot, whether I am applying it in the car or during my shower, I wouldn’t miss this step before ‘hair and make up’. My hair stylist Hannah, is based in Taiwan so everytime I change my hairstyle she would apply OLAPLEX for treatment and I also love applying hair oil. She recommended me moroccan oil and I’ve been using it ever since!

Namita Nayyar:

After a long hard-working day, you relax with?

Ann Louie Li:

A nice massage (if it’s available) or my laptop to watch a funny movie while eating my favorite dessert.

Namita Nayyar:

Message for your fans on Women Fitness.

Ann Louie Li:

To my AnnLimiteds who have been a big part of my life since almost a decade ago, thank you for this new found family and for supporting me with whatever I do! You guys are seriously my motivation! Love love love!!! I can’t wait to grow old with you all!! Big thanks and big hugs!!!
