Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up Aysia Chanelle is an Exceptionally Talented Fashion Model, dancer and actress here she talks about her fitness routine, her diet, skin care, hair care and her success story.

Namita Nayyar:

You are a well-known fashion model. Can you recollect memories of your first ever shoot?

Aysia Chanelle:

My first shoot EVER was actually with my twin brother, Chance. It was in my senior year of high school that I really found my passion for modeling and ironically enough Chance was learning his way around a camera lens. So we put up some make shift backdrop and I put on my most fancy garments accessorized with globs of makeup. I was excited and inspired by the images we created and that’s where my passion for modeling began.

Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life.

Aysia Chanelle:

I love starting my days early! My morning almost always consist of a cup of tea. Doesn’t matter which kind, but I typically love starting my day with a hot cup of green tea. After my tea, I’m ready for my favorite part of my day, yoga. With my busy schedule, I’ve found it so important to take a second to stretch and energize my body before my day gets away from me. A day in my life can look like so many different things. One day I can be traveling back and forth for auditions, or shooting for hours and hours, and other days I’m in my orange shorts as a Hooters Girl.

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine that you may like to share? Five must-dos for flat abs?

Aysia Chanelle:

My workout routine is not concrete, let me tell you! I really love to listen to what my body needs that day. I’d be lying if I said I haven’t skipped out on leg day for a light yoga session instead. But normally, I try to get at least two cardio workouts, and two weight training sessions a week. I like to incorporate three rest days a week to give my body and muscles time to replenish!

However, you can almost always find me on my yoga mat. Whether it be a quick 5 minute stretch or an hour long vinyasa flow, my yoga practice has been a key part in both my physical and mental well-being and it’s something I have been practicing for 6 years now. I also LOVE running. For me, running is one way I like to clear my mind or really think on something.

Being a swimsuit pageant competitor, I can say achieving flat abs takes hard work! But totally achievable with a healthy diet first! But my top five must do ab workouts are, Russian twists, bicycle crunches, leg extensions, scissor kicks and my favorite…planks!

Namita Nayyar:

Do you take some specific diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Aysia Chanelle:

My diet isn’t strict in any means of the word as I love eating healthy foods and it’s something that comes naturally. In fact, I love all kinds of foods, I just make sure to maintain a healthy balance to keep my body well-nourished while still indulging from time to time. When it comes to my daily diet, my rule of thumb is to eat one colorful meal a day

(Usually meaning a lot of veggies and fruits) For breakfast, I’m currently hooked on egg whites with a big handful of spinach!

When pageant season comes around, that’s when my diet becomes a little more tedious. I have this infused water that I like to make and I’ve been drinking it every morning for years now. It’s composed of 2 sliced lemons, 1 sliced cucumber, and a couple mint leaves. I add them to a pitcher of water and leave it to infuse all the goodness overnight. I find it to be helpful for my metabolism and maintaining clear healthy skin.

Tea of all kinds is also one of my pageant prep favorites! Yogi Tea is my go to brand! When training for a swimsuit pageant I like to reach for food that are lean and green, as I like to say, haha! I love whipping up some eggs with a big handful of spinach for breakfast. Lunch is usually a large leafy green salad with a protein of any kind. And because my workout regime is so strenuous during pageant prep, I make sure to replenish with a milkshake for dinner.

Namita Nayyar:

Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success in your career?

Aysia Chanelle:

This one is easy. My brother, Chance! He’s helped me find confidence in my work and has shown me my true abilities in modeling through the years. He’s my biggest cheerleader, and the best part is he’s my own free personal photographer.

Having done so many photo shoots, tell us 6 must-haves that you follow before going for a photo shoot. Before a photo-shoot, I always make sure to exfoliate. You want to get that GLOW. Lots of water. Being dehydrated can really show up in photos.

With that, a good nights’ sleep is always a plus! Concealer may cover up dark circles but I always strive to bring the most energy to a shoot. Extra nude undergarments. Nothing is worse than going to a great photo-shoot and being asked to put on a beautifully sheer dress knowing you have bright red Victoria secret on. Don’t forget a little snack too.

With summers coming up, tell us your 5 favorite swimwear brands.

Aysia Chanelle:

There are so many! How do I choose? I absolutely love Veve Swimwear for all my swimsuit pageant needs. I absolutely adore swimwear by Tropic of C, Candice Swanepoel’s brand. My favorite pieces are from Sommer Swim, Beach bunny, and Monday.

Five beach essentials to carry!

Aysia Chanelle:

Sunscreen, lip balm, a good book (preferably mystery), sunglasses, and a camera! …because “did it really happen if you don’t get a cute beach day Insta pic?”

Namita Nayyar:

Your hair and skincare routine? Your night care ritual for skincare.

Aysia Chanelle:

I recently started using jojoba oil in my hair and leaving it in overnight. I’ve found that it adds so much shine and luster back into my hair after a weeklong of heat and styling. I also do a hair mask once a week. Any mask by Shea Moisture works for me! They smell so amazing and hair is also so refreshed after. When it comes to skin care, I typically reach for the natural products. At night, I start by using Burt’s Bees makeup wipes to remove the day’s makeup. Then I cleanse twice with Burt’s Bees Acne Solutions cleanser.

Once to loosen up and wash away all the daily dirt and oil and the second to really deeply cleanse. I always use an exfoliating cotton round when I cleanse a second time so as to get an exfoliating clean. If I have a shoot the next day, I’ll follow up with Burt’s Bees Acne Scrub. Lastly, I always rinse with cold water and apply witch hazel toner and Finish up with Burt’s Bees firming moisturizer!

Namita Nayyar:

Five destinations that you love.

Aysia Chanelle:

First place that comes to mind is my birth place San Francisco, California. I moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma when I was very little, but I have many fond memories visiting my family in SF. The crisp, cool weather with the smell of sea breeze. Ugh! I miss it every day. Second, Lake Tahoe, California. What can I say? I was born to be on the west coast…literally! I competed in a swimsuit pageant in Lake Tahoe and I remember doing a photo shoot on the beach with mountains that had snow on top in the background. It’s truly a beautiful place. Next, I would have to say Mexico. I’ve met the nicest people while in Mexico. Also it’s the only place where I can run around in a swimsuit and nobody will look at me weird, haha! Lastly, I would have to say my dream destinations are Bora Bora and Italy.
