Refaeli has three brothers.

Refaeli began a modeling career at the age of eight months, appearing in commercials. Refaeli had to wear braces in her early years, interrupting her modeling until age 15, when she returned to modeling. She was featured in campaigns for the fashion brands Castro and Pilpel, also starring in a commercial for Milky. Refaeli won the title “Model of The Year” in an Israeli beauty contest in 2000.

Refaeli has appeared in ELLE (France), Maxim, and GQ (Italy). She debuted in the 2007 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, becoming the first Israeli model to appear in the magazine, posing with rock band Aerosmith. In 2009, Refaeli was the covermodel for the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. A photo from the shoot, featuring a bikini-clad Refaeli, was painted on the side of a Boeing 737 in a promotional deal with Southwest Airlines, leading to criticism of Southwest from passengers for using an image they regarded as inappropriately sexual and “offensive to families”. In October of the same year, Refaeli was again embroiled in controversy, when Haredi groups criticised a Tel Aviv billboard campaign in which she appeared semi-nude, alleging that it could “poison” the public. The billboards were subsequently removed. She has modeled for Subaru, Accessorize, Brazilian clothing line Besni, Italian jewelry line Marco Bicego, and Rampage. In 2009 she modeled for Garnier International.

On 5 March 2009, Refaeli received the “World Style Award” presented by the Women’s World Awards, for her “natural elegance, sense of style and compassion”. In October of the same year, Refaeli co-hosted Fashionable Istanbul’s press conference, announcing their October 2009 fashion event, also appearing in its advertising. Refaeli was voted #42 in 2008, #57 in 2010, and #97 in 2011 in the FHM “100 Sexiest Women” list and came in first on Maxim’s Hot 100 list of 2012. In April 2012, Shalom Life ranked her Number 4 on its list of the “50 most talented, intelligent, funny, and gorgeous Jewish women in the world”.

On February 3, 2013, GoDaddy used Refaeli and NASCAR driver Danica Patrick in one of its two 30-second Super Bowl XLVII commercials. In the ad, Refaeli, representing the “sexy side” of GoDaddy, kisses the actor Jesse Heiman, a former Chuck Buy More Nerd Herd staffer, representing the “smart side” of the service, to make the point “together, they’re perfect”.

Refaeli co-starred in the Israeli TV series Pick Up in 2005. In October 2008, she co-hosted the Bravo special program Tommy Hilfiger Presents Ironic Iconic America, based on the book Ironic Iconic America written by George Lois. She returned as a program host in 2009, this time for MTV’s brief revival of House of Style. On 18 January 2011, Refaeli attended the premiere of the English-language movie Session in Israel in which she starred. Directed by Israeli Haim Bouzaglo, the film is a psychological thriller that tells the story of a manipulative psychiatrist who becomes obsessed with a new young patient. She served as a guest judge on cycle four of Germany’s Next Topmodel hosted by Heidi Klum.
In November 2012 she started her own model casting show Million Dollar Shootingstar on German TV Channel Sat.1.

In 2011 Refaeli and Dudi Balsar, an attorney and former male model, set up an E-commerce company called Under.me to sell designer underwear. By November 2011, the company had raised $1 million in venture capital funds.

Previously linked to Baywatch actor David Charvet and Uri El-Natan, Refaeli began a relationship with American actor Leonardo DiCaprio in November 2005 after meeting him at a party in Las Vegas thrown for members of U2. In the course of their trip to Israel in March 2007, the couple met with Israeli president Shimon Peres and visited Refaeli’s hometown of Hod HaSharon. The relationship ended in June 2009. Numerous reports, however, indicate that, as of early 2010, the romance may have been rekindled. In May 2011 it was reported that the couple had ended their romantic relationship, although they remain friends.

Her relationship with DiCaprio caused one nationalist Israeli organization to send her a letter, later leaked to the press, in which she was asked, for the sake of “future generations of Jews”, not to marry a “non-Jew”, a request similar to the one made to Israeli 1998 Miss World winner Linor Abargil, a few years previously.

Refaeli confided to L’Isha magazine that she prefers to keep a lower profile, but that she is out with DiCaprio much of the time. “I am there for him and I am at all the events”, she says. “I just don’t walk in hand-in-hand with him. I don’t see any reason. I don’t need to strike poses with him in front of the cameras. No one needs to know how we kiss”.

Refaeli volunteers for Project Sunshine, a non-profit organization providing free services and programs for children facing life-threatening illnesses. She has also volunteered for organization Ahava, which has been caring for pets abandoned in Northern Israel during the 2006 Israel-Lebanon conflict. Refaeli and film director Shahar Segal have agreed to do a free campaign under the slogan “One Bag Less” to reduce the use of plastic bags. In August 2010, she decided to write a special report with the collaboration of Better Place on why she believes that more people should drive electric cars.

In 2007 it was reported that Refaeli had married a family acquaintance and divorced him soon after to avoid military service in the Israel Defense Forces, which is mandatory for both men and women over the age of 18. The Israeli Forum for the Promotion of Equal Share in the Burden threatened to boycott the fashion chain Fox if they hired Refaeli, but the two sides reached a compromise in which Refaeli agreed to visit injured IDF soldiers on visits to Israel and encourage enlistment in the army. Refaeli later stated, “I don’t regret not enlisting, because it paid off big time. That’s just the way it is, celebrities have other needs. I hope my case has influenced the army”. In 2009 fellow Israeli model Esti Ginzburg, while speaking in support of enlisting, criticized Refaeli for her avoidance of military service. In 2011 Refaeli was featured on the cover of Italian GQ’s war-themed May 2011 issue.

Bar Refaeli, former supermodel of Victoria’s Secret is the proud owner of “Hottest Woman Alive” title for 2012. All the credit goes to her athletic looks and hearty sex appeal that continue to grab the attention of countless fanatics. Without any doubt, this 5 ft 8.5 inch sensation is calisthenics fanatic, who tag on healthy diet plan and daily workout. Beauty secret of Bar is her healthy lifestyle that is a dream of every health lover. Boxing, cardio, martial arts, strength trains and jump rose form a significant part of Refaeli’s daily workout plan. Regardless of anxiety to be thin for modeling, Bar Refaeli aims to stay fit not size zero. This Israeli model is among the few, who boast of appealing athletic figure and has autonomy to eat anything that she aspires to have. However, Refaeli works hard to burn extra calories even after having an additional bite.

Bar do not diet and starve in order to attribute her emaciated frame but hold enough confidence abide by her fitness approach. Most of the fans do not accustom that successful models rarely speak of their personal approach and fitness issues. What keeps utmost significance in the life of a super model is losing weight while making an allowance for an overall health. For Bar Refaeli, it is the adversary of vogue diet plans and ideas similar to that. This Israeli model loves to eat healthy that can cope with essential nutrient required by her body. Besides this, Bar finds her personal tips more faithful to maintain her body in good shape. In spite of sticking to diet, Refaeli follow daily workout to look toned, especially when she has to attend fashion shoot.

This Israeli stunner rocks the fashion world and looks amazing on magazine covers. Recently, Bar Refaeli came up with most sought-after and practiced martial arts of Israel known as “Krav Maga”. This sexy supermodel looks phenomenal and flaunting with trademark curves. Krav Maga is an electric unarmed combat system created in Israel to serve the upcoming expectations health conscious people. This practice comprise wrestling, striking techniques and grappling that are known worldwide for its brutal and effective counter-attacks. Krav Maga is based on philosophy that emphasizes threat neutralization and offensive aggression. Israel army used this practice of defense against common chokes, bear hugs, weapons and grabs.

This supermodel cracks down on resistance training to treat the odd and leads to a thriving upshot. It is not essential for supermodels to look for perfect diet plan that can bring about a great change in shape and total mass. To reduce 3 to 5 pounds, Bar follows a strict diet, eat small portion and eliminate oil, nuts, caffeine, alcohol, sugar and salt. However, Refaeli essentially goes for a well-balanced diet including juice, shrimp, lean beef, coffee, beer, diet coke, tuna, cheese, yogurt, shrimp, chicken, lentils, celery, snow peas, salad greens, blueberries, banana, strawberries, almonds and olives.

It is always worthy for models to go for yoga or Pilates but, but Bar Refaeli find it quite boring and unsuitable for her persona. TRX is the main workout that Bar Refaeli follows to work with body weight and reduce extra calories. Models prefer doing exercises through instructional video and classes three to four times a week that contributes to healthy lifestyle. Other than typical home-based workouts, Bar loves to hike and take stairs in spite of elevator. Reverse crunch requires you to lie on back while placing hands behind the head and raising your legs into air by the time your knees reach to 90 degrees. This will further require you to curl hips away from the floor and press on legs towards ceiling. Repetition of this movement for 12-16 times can lead to a toned and tempting athletic body.

She’s no fan of fad diets, loves to live a healthy lifestyle, and understands the importance of indulgences every now and again. Bar Refaeli says “Happiness is when you love who you are and you are able to accept yourself and others.” She further adds “I would never go on some crazy fad diet or eat anything weird to get thinner — it is just not good for your body.”

Israeli model Bar Refaeli insists that resistance training and the odd treat is the secret behind her killer bod. “I like eating healthily but if I’m craving I’ll have it, just not every day,” she revealed. “My main workout is TRX (working with your own body weight) which really tones the body. I can’t do the Yoga stuff, it bores me.

Bar Refaeli is perhaps one of the few models of today that can boast an extremely athletic figure, as well as the ability to eat whatever she wants and just work out a bit more to burn the extra calories. Models usually claim they don’t diet or starve themselves, attributing their skinny frame to good genes: far from doing that, in the latest Hello print edition (story via here), Bar advocates for a healthy lifestyle, stressing that confidence has everything to do with one’s approach to fitness.

As fans must know, this is not the first time that the successful model speaks of how she personally holds that every woman out there should approach the issue of her weight – and losing weight in particular – not in relation to what others say or do, but solely keeping in mind their overall health.

This is what she does, and she says it again in the interview with Hello magazine, where she explains how she only has to put in a little more effort in the gym if she wants to look good for a shoot or a fashion show.

From what Bar says, she’s the worst enemy of fad diets or the very idea that she might want to starve herself to drop a few pounds on a quick notice. “I don’t diet and I don’t have an eating plan, but I like to eat healthily. I don’t deny myself anything and there’s nothing I wouldn’t eat. I like desserts – I like food full-stop, but I exercise and I’m young, so everything keeps in check. I don’t feel the need to be super skinny, but being in shape is important. But even if I wasn’t in this industry I would still want to look after myself and be healthy and keep my body in good condition.” Bar explains.

So, instead of sticking to a diet all the time, Bar only has to worry before a fashion shoot or a show, where she’s supposed to look her best partly because of the unforgiving items she must don. To look super toned, the model intensifies her workouts in the period before the actual event and, if need be, also switches to salads and chicken for a short while, just to make sure she doesn’t look bloated from indulging in less healthy food. Another secret weapon that Bar uses to look this stunning is a glass of hot water with lemon each morning, which kick-starts her metabolism and cleanses her organism, as she puts it.

“I guess every girl has days where she feels good and days where she feels she could lose a couple of pounds, and it’s the same for me, I’m generally in pretty good shape, but if I have a major shoot or fashion show coming up and I want to look my best, then I’ll spend a little extra time working out or I’ll stick to eating salads and chicken for a few days. I would never go on some crazy fad diet or eat anything weird to get thinner – it’s just not good for your body.” the model further explains for the magazine.

Bar Refaeli has given an interview to Hello Magazine about what she looks for in a man, how she doesn’t diet, and how she gets bored easily. In one part of the interview (that I didn’t transcribe), she goes on and on about her contract with Reebok, so I think that was the point of the interview – a little promotional duties. She’s trying to convince us that her figure comes from working out (wearing Reebok!) and not dieting herself into oblivion:

On working out before the Sports Illustrated shoot: “I always want to look my best on a shoot, or for a fashion show, so I do an extra couple of sit-ups the night before and I drink hot water with lemon to get my metabolism kick-started in the morning and to cleanse my system, but I don’t do anything crazy.”

“There’s nothing worse than forcing yourself to spend hours in the gym when you don’t enjoy it, so I do all sorts of things to work out because I get bored easily.

“I don’t diet and I don’t have an eating plan, but I like to eat healthily. I don’t deny myself anything and there’s nothing I wouldn’t eat. I like desserts – I like food full-stop, but I exercise and I’m young, so everything keeps in check.”

Bar denies dieting before a swimsuit shoot or Victoria’s Secret catwalk show, saying “I guess every girl has days where she feels good and days where she feels she could lose a couple of pounds, and it’s the same for me, I’m generally in pretty good shape, but if I have a major shoot or fashion show coming up and I want to look my best, then I’ll spend a little extra time working out or I’ll stick to eating salads and chicken for a few days. I would never go on some crazy fad diet or eat anything weird to get thinner – it’s just not good for your body.”

In Hello Magazine, print edition September 9 2009, It wrote : If it was another model, I would be tempted to think she was lying, but my guess is that Bar is probably telling the truth about not doing crash diets. She has a healthy-looking, athletic figure, so I’ll buy that she can probably eat what she wants and then just burn it off through work outs. That being said, did you notice that she seems to differentiate between just eating salads for a week and going on a “fad” diet? Seems like she does go on targeted diets for specific photo shoots, she just doesn’t call it a diet.

“My secret is living a healthy lifestyle,” Refaeli, 26, says in the August 2011 issue of UK Vogue. “It’s really important because looking glamorous and looking sexy comes also from the inside.”So if you eat healthy, if you work out, if you keep in shape [you’ll look good]. Also having a sense of humour about life, taking things easy – it’s a big part of the way you present yourself.”

The 5 ft.-8.5 in. Israeli beauty’s workout routine includes lots of cardio and martial arts-based exercise, notably Krav Maga (the same workout Angelina Jolie did for the spy thriller Salt). “My trainer taught me all kinds of kicks and they work everywhere—your abs, your butt,” Refaeli has said.

The Israeli fighting method works the entire body, much like cardio kickboxing and uses kettle bells, jump ropes, boxing bags and gloves. Bar, who has made a lucrative living off her stunning good looks, prefers a moderate approach to dieting. “I guess every girl has days where she feels good and days where she feels she could lose a couple of pounds, and it’s the same for me,” says Refaeli, who was named the hottest woman alive for 2012.

“I’m generally in pretty good shape, but if I have a major shoot or fashion show coming up and I want to look my best, then I’ll spend a little extra time working out or I’ll stick to eating salads and chicken for a few days. I would never go on some crazy fad diet or eat anything weird to get thinner – it’s just not good for your body.”

Israeli stunner Bar Refaeli even rocks it! If you thought she was fierce on your latest magazine cover, she’s even fiercer in the gym. The sexy supermodel, who looks phenomenal flaunting her trademark curves in the new fun and flirty 2012 Passionata calendar, has said, “I don’t feel the need to be super-skinny, but being in shape is important. My trainer taught me all kinds of kicks and they work everywhere – your abs, your butt.”

Don’t mess with this supermodel…or anyone else training with it, for that matter! Krav Maga, which translates from Hebrew to mean “contact combat”, is a fighting style originally used by the Israeli army and combines techniques from different styles of martial arts and boxing. Centers all over the world such as Krav Maga Worldwide offer self-defense and fighting classes that Krav Maga made its name with. In the self-defense class, you’ll learn to defend against common chokes, grabs, and bearhugs, as well as weapons such as guns, knives, and sticks. The more grueling fighting program will test, develop, and hone your fighting skills through partner drills and sparring.
