Blair O’Neal: Most Beautiful Golfer in the World Uncovers Her Fitness, Diet & Beauty Secrets

 Blair O'Neal

Blair O’Neal is a leading golfer and a model. She is winner of Golf Channel’s Big Break Dominican Republic, LPGA qualifying School Finalist, Two time NCAA Long Drive Champion And Runner up on Golf Channel’s Big Break Prince Edward Island.

She has been named by Sports Illustrated as “One of the Hottest 50 Athletes of All-Time”, by Golf Channel as one of the “Top 10: Fit Golfers”, by Golf Digest as one of the “Hottest Golfers” and by Golf Magazine as one of “The 18 Most Beautiful Women in Golf”.

Blair was born May 14, 1981 in Macomb, Illinois and moved to Arizona at the age of two where she spent the rest of her childhood. At an early age Blair enjoyed ballet, jazz and cheer. Then at the age of 11, Blair’s dad enrolled her and her brother in a junior golf clinic at San Marcos Golf Resort in Chandler, Arizona. Little did her Dad know, he had created a monster (in the nicest way possible).

While her brother still may not know what a 4-iron is to this day (although he can certainly fix your hard drive), Blair has not put down her golf clubs since…well, unless it’s to pick up a makeup brush. But we’ll get to that in a minute. Nearly every one of Blair’s childhood afternoons, and many of her early mornings, were spent on the practice range at Dobson Ranch Golf Club in Mesa, Arizona.

By the age of 13, just two years after first picking up a club, Blair began playing on the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). She found much success in her junior golf career including, but certainly not limited to, a selection on the U.S. Junior Ryder Cup Team in Valderrama, Spain; a selection to AJGA Cannon Cup Team; runner-up in the Woman’s Western Tournament; and a medalist at the AJGA Ping Phoenix Junior Championship.

Entering high school, Blair had already established herself as one of the best junior golfers in the state. She eventually made the decision to take her talents to Corona Del Sol High School in Chandler, Arizona. Blair was a double threat earning high marks in academics and adding to her trophy collection on the golf course. While earning a 3.8 GPA, she was a three-time medalist at the 5A Regional Golf Championship, four-time Golf MVP and eventually 5A Arizona State Girls Golf Champion.

Despite countless collegiate offer letters, some of them admittedly going unopened, Blair made her childhood dream a reality and accepted a full ride scholarship to Arizona State University. She competed all four years as a Sun Devil having never missed or being sat out of a single tournament. And while doing so, she was crowned a two time NCAA women’s long-drive champion. #ShesGotMuscles.

For the next three years Blair pursued her modeling career. She eventually racked up quite the modeling resume through runway fashion shows, television hosting, print ads, catalogs, magazine covers, websites and commercial advertisements. Then one day she received a call from the creators of the Golf Channel’s Big Break television series. Golf Channel gotten wind of Blair through the golf community and asked her to audition. But having to knock the dust off her clubs just to audition, Blair was eventually denied.

So back to modeling she went. And down went the golf clubs, again. But after nearly two more years of modeling, Blair got another call from the Golf Channel. This time they weren’t interested in Blair auditioning…they wanted her on the show! Without a minute of hesitation, she accepted. However, she only had a month to prepare. And prepare she did. During the spring of 2009, Blair competed on the Golf Channel’s Big Break: Prince Edward Island. And despite the lack of preparation time, she finished runner up. But more importantly, she revived her golfing career.

Having been away from the game for over four years, she lost her status on the LPGA Symetra Tour. So Blair took to the local mini-tours to freshen up her game. While doing so, she received another call from the Golf Channel asking her to come back to do another Big Break reunion show. This time she was fully prepared. In the fall of 2010, Blair was crowned the winner of Big Break: Dominican Republic.

Blair’s Big Break winnings provided her the financial stability to pursue the game at the highest level. Later in 2010 she went to LPGA Qualifying School, making it to the final stage.

Although falling just short of obtaining her LPGA tour card, she got back her full status on the LPGA Symetra Tour. And in doing so, she proudly signed on with Cobra-Puma as her primary sponsor. In 2012, Blair completed her first full season on the LPGA Symetra Tour. Blair currently continues her quest of one day obtaining her full LPGA card.

When not crushing drives, the 5′ 9″ blonde bombshell has made the most of her modeling career. Among countless other accolades, Blair has been named by Sports Illustrated as “One of the Hottest 50 Athletes of All-Time”, by Golf Channel as one of the “Top 10: Fit Golfers”, by Golf Digest as one of the “Hottest Golfers”, and by Golf Magazine as one of “The 18 Most Beautiful Women in Golf”.

She appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition magazine with Cobra-Puma three consecutive years from 2011-2013. Blair has also translated her experiences into the on-camera platform through her work as host of the Golf Buzz presented by Myrtle Beach Golf Holiday and What’s in the Bag with Cobra-Puma on the Golf Channel.

Blair continues her mission as a dedicated athlete, but presents the look and the personality that will brighten anyone’s day. Her competitiveness and drive, combined with her beauty and character, make her equally gifted on the golf course, on the runway, and on the streets.

Blair O’Neal exceptionally talented and highly accomplished golfer and model. Named by Sports Illustrated as “One of the Hottest 50 Athletes of All-Time”, by Golf Channel as one of the “Top 10: Fit Golfers”, by Golf Digest as one of the “Hottest Golfers” and by Golf Magazine as one of “The 18 Most Beautiful Women in Golf” is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You started playing golf at a very young age of eleven years and reached the pinnacle of success by being winner of Big Break: Dominican Republic. What factors you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: Persistency and patients. Golf is a game of ups and downs. And generally the downs outweigh the ups. So you have to keep pushing yourself and remain patient that your time will come.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Your are a a leading model and a professional golfer. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: Fortunately nowadays my modeling and golf seem to go hand in hand. Most of the modeling I do today is golf related. But that wasn’t always the case. It was definitely a challenge when I was younger to balance the two. The big one constant throughout the years is that golf always took priority. I love the modeling, but golf is where my true passion lies.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: I am a big advocate of variety. I believe doing the same routines or the same exercises delays progress. I switch things up from yoga to cardio, to weight training to pilates. It also helps me to stay interested in the gym.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: I’ve always been a healthy, but not perfect, eater. Fortunately I am active enough to make up for my sometime imperfect diet. I recently got tested for food insensitivities and found I am sensitive to gluten and certain other foods such as eggs. Eliminating some of these foods from my diet has already proven to make a world of difference. I’ve found that working out and eating right helps me mentally just as much as it does physically.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: I love beauty products so I like to try different ones to see which work best for my skin. I am a huge advocate of sunscreen since I am outside all day long. One of my favorite products that I have used for years is Shiseido sunscreen. I also take vitamins every evening… I think that helps with skin, hair, and nails!

Blair O’Neal on Women Fitness:

You are most likely visiting womenfitness.net because fitness and health are a priority in your life. And you’re in the right place! Just remember fitness and health is not an activity or a hobby, it’s a lifestyle.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding professional golfers who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of professional golf ?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: Practice. You’ve heard it before and you’ll hear it again, but practice is really the only way to progress. I have learned that practicing smarter, not necessarily longer, is extremely important.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: How did you feel before and after wining 5A Arizona State Girls Golf Championship?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: I remember being extremely motivated, similar to how I was just before I won Big Break. At that age, the state championship is what I worked for. Especially after coming up one spot short the year before, I was motivated more than ever. I worked so hard for that goal. And after winning, it was so rewarding to know that all of the hard work had paid off. That’s not always the case with this game, so you need to enjoy it when it happens.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What kind of training you are having for your preparation for obtaining your full LPGA card?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: Preparation at the professional level includes development of the body and the mind. I am an extremely hard worker on the course as well as in the gym, but the one area that I continue to work on more than ever is the mental aspect of the game. It’s the most difficult part of the game and sometimes progress can only occur through trial and error. But finding the right mental state is by far the most important part of my preparation.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Who has been your greatest influencer and motivator in your success in the field of your career in competitive professional golf ?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: My dad and my former coach, Verde. Both have given me unconditional support while at the same time pushing me at times when I needed it the most.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Tell us what factors were catalyst that you consider led you to be named by Sports Illustrated as “One of the Hottest 50 Athletes of All-Time”, by Golf Channel as one of the “Top 10: Fit Golfers”, by Golf Digest as one of the “Hottest Golfers” and by Golf Magazine as one of “The 18 Most Beautiful Women in Golf”?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: These are all huge honors and I never take them for granted! I also know I’ve worked extremely hard both on the golf course and in the gym to even be considered for such honors. That said, these type of honors are not what drive me. Being the best golfer I can be is my ultimate motivator. But these accolades are certainly nice bi-products of the process!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have done bikini, fitness and glamour photo shoots. They are bold and hot. What advice you wish to give to the women of today to be body confident in order to do such bold modeling?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: Confidence doesn’t come from looking in the mirror. Confidence is a belief in what you stand for and the process you took to get there. Tangible imperfection are easily disguised by confidence, so stop try to be tangibly perfect. There is no such thing… so just feel good in your own skin!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?

Ms. Blair O’Neal: You are most likely visiting womenfitness.net because fitness and health are a priority in your life. And you’re in the right place! Just remember fitness and health is not an activity or a hobby, it’s a lifestyle.
