Ms. Catherine Tyldesley:

I was extremely fortunate that upon graduating drama school, I was signed straight away to United Agents. You can’t really ask for a better company to ‘have your back’. From day one they’ve been my guardian angels. Half the battle in this industry is having a good agent- and I thank my lucky stars for that every day. I always assumed I would fall into Classical or musical theatre, but I seemed to have a lucky streak with film and television. One of my absolute favorite roles was Iris Moss in ‘Lilies’ … I still think about that job to this day, it was a dream come true – I adore period dramas. Heidi Thomas is one of my favorite writers- ‘Lilies’ was incredibly personal to her, so I’m ever honored that she allowed me to bring Iris to life.

I always hoped I’d be in Coronation Street one day. It was a life long ambition. I’ve always watched the show and some of my favorite writers were already on board (Jonathan Harvey, Damon Rochefort, Carmel Morgan to name a few) It’s been an incredible seven years on those cobbles.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

In one of your interviews, you have indicated that at one time you wore a dress size 22 when you were 18 years old. As a fitness enthusiast, Unfold the exercises that comprise your fitness regime on a daily basis?

Ms. Catherine Tyldesley:

I aim for 2-3 weight training sessions each week , 2 cardio sessions (usually 60 min swim) and 1-2 Pilates sessions. I’ve just started reformer Pilates and I adore it. It compliments my weight training perfectly. I’ve really seen a difference with my core muscles in terms of using them correctly. Depending how busy I am at work I try to walk as much as possible too. I’m as guilty as anyone else for not always reaching 10k steps, but when I make an effort to do so, my weight does drop.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Talking about your weight loss story. What diet do you follow today or would advise friends, in order to stay healthy and physically fit? Enlist your 5 favorite breakfast recipes?

Ms. Catherine Tyldesley:

I think if you’re eating whole foods you can’t go too wrong. I’ve had trainers in the past who’ve told me ‘calories don’t matter’… I disagree. They do. Regardless of what lifestyle you have. I think the fitness industry is saturated with faddy diets, faddy exercise regimes and personal trainers that care more about how many ‘likes’ a picture of their abs get on Insta as opposed to furthering themselves education wise. That’s why I love Ultimate Performance and train regularly at Ultimate Performance in Spinningfields Manchester.

Their trainers are the world’s best- they NEVER stop learning. It’s all about the results there, taking things back to basics in terms of exercise and nutrition. No silly ‘starve yourself detoxing’, or gimmick based workouts. I share their ethos. Train hard, eat from the land and sleep!! You can’t go far wrong with that!!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and long, flowing hair – Share with us your skincare and hair care tips?

Ms. Catherine Tyldesley:

I’ve really made an effort in recent years to invest in high quality skincare and facials on a regular basis. I think as you get older, one day you look in the mirror and think ‘ok… concealer won’t cover this! I need to invest!’

I drink Skinade everyday which I swear by- it’s a collagen based vitamin drink. And I visit the highly acclaimed Dr Jonquille Chantry or Crystal Clear for facials. Products on my dressing table? Crystal Clear, Obaji, Dr Murad.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With an audience of over 336k followers on your Instagram account @auntiecath17 you’re a social media sensation and an internet leading star. How does it feel that you are able to inspire and influence the healthy lifestyle of so many women across the globe? What’s your success “mantra”?

Ms. Catherine Tyldesley:

I think having a presence on social media is a big responsibility. There are young people following me, I hope that my posts motivate and inspire them. It’s part of the reason we set up @thePitfields. My husband and I are so passionate about health and fitness- we wanted to share our knowledge and experiences with other like minded people/families. It’s really taken off- I think people appreciate our honesty, we don’t profess to know everything- but we love sharing tips and recipes, and if we don’t know the answer to one of your questions- we work with several Doctors/ leading Nutritionists/ scientists/ Physio’s that will. We want to help as many people as we can.

Success mantra has always been :
Dream Big. Believe. Achieve. Work hard, and listen to your body/your gut instincts.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have essayed the role of Eva Price on the ITV soap opera Coronation Street for seven years. Tell us more about your experience doing the show. And how do you feel about the huge response and appreciation that you received from it?

Ms. Catherine Tyldesley:

I will remain ever grateful to Phil Collinson (producer) and Gennie Radcliffe (casting director) for giving me ‘Eva Price’. I’d always dreamt of being in Corrie, ever since I was a little girl. I’ve honestly had the best seven years of my life. I’m not leaving because I’m unhappy. I’m actually the happiest I’ve ever been there. Kate Oates (current producer) has given me such wonderful storylines. This lady is a powerhouse in every sense – a real game changer for our show. She is a fantastic role model for women … and someone I hope to work with again in the future.

I’m utterly thrilled that viewers enjoy Eva, I’ve worked very hard over the years to develop her. It’s so lovely when audiences relate to your character. I get sent some lovely messages on social media – which means so much to me. Thank you everyone, for your continued support- I really am grateful everyday.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have presently quit the show and in a recent interview you said: “I’m excited about the future, new acting projects, and spending time with my family.” It must have been a challenging decision to opt out of the show after being a part of it for so long?

Ms. Catherine Tyldesley:

I’ve always wanted to travel and portray other characters. I’m an actress- it’s what we were designed for. I adore those cobbles and would love to go back someday. But at this present time- this is what feels right for myself and my family.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
