Char B exceptionally talented and highly accomplished model, personal trainer, a therapist, columnist and media personality is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

As a mother of one beautiful daughter, taking a career in modeling and as a bikini competitor can be quite challenging. Kindly tells us how you handled such a challenging situation in your life?

Ms. Char B:

My daughter and I regularly have trips away to spend quality time together and I had always wanted to experience entering a show.. We decided to take a trip away for a weekend to attend a show and found the experience lots of fun. The modeling and the competing together does take up a lot of time, so when the time came, it was my daughter who I took along with me for the final experience.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You once said that you have a 13 year old daughter Tia and you believe in bringing her up in a healthy, fun, exciting and active lifestyle. Kindly elaborate on this aspect of parenting?

Ms. Char B:

Tia and I both enjoy fitness and good food. I bought Tia up in my world of trying lots of different foods and exploring their origins as well as taking up different fitness activities. Tia has now been having tennis lessons for the last couple of years, as she found this to be her passion. We are planning trips to Wimbledon in the future now!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Share your exercise routine that you do to maintain such a bikini perfect physique?

Ms. Char B:

My routine basically involves a split routine of heavy weight sessions (always concentrating more on my lower body). I split my weight routines with my cardio during my times of competition. I tend to include boxing sessions and barefoot running into my cardio, which also helps to keeps everything varied.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What is your diet? Do you take a particular fixed regulated diet comprising of nutrients and vitamins to keep you in perfect health?

Ms. Char B:

My diet is clean and healthy as you can probably imagine when it comes to competing, however when I’m “off season” it’s moderation and substitution. I eat a varied diet consisting of my own recipes and eating plans.

Substitution and moderation is what I live by as part if my lifestyle. I don’t tend to like the word “diet” as I see it as a healthy way of life. I will still eat a juicy steak with a glass of red wine when I’m out socializing and if I want some ice-cream, I will eat it! One “bad” meal won’t make you fat – just like one clean meal won’t make you the kilos drop off!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What is your motivation to take a multi-faceted personality of a fitness model, personal trainer, a therapist, columnist and a fit mother?

Ms. Char B:

I’m a very enthusiastic, bubbly and smiley individual. My motivation has come from sheer enjoyment in everything I do. I’m always studying and researching and I enjoy it, so my motivation is simply there.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What advice you have for mothers who consider you as their role model and wish to be as fit as you?

Ms. Char B:

My advice is that I understand! I had my daughter whilst I was still studying and working and have raised her for years as a single mother. It’s not easy during the hard times to be motivated which is why I always got her involved with everything with me.

From studying to exercise, to eating healthy, by cooking and tasting food together. She has always enjoyed participating with me and it makes it enjoyable for me, as a mum, to see her happy. Even when she was a baby I was blowing bubbles on her belly whilst I was engaging my core which is where I started teaching mothers with new baby classes in the parks! To be a role model for anyone is extremely humbling, a lovely compliment and something that I don’t take lightly.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Char B:

I always cleanse and exfoliate but I also have my own Aloe Vera plant which I grow at home. I cut off a piece and squeeze out the gel and apply it to my face at bedtime. My daughter and I like to make healthy face packs from simple food items too, which is fun! For my hair I tend to use a good oil treatment once a week and coconut oil is sometimes my choice with this.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have won Northern Ireland Fitness Model Association(Nifma) formal wear in 2012 and Nifma International bikini winner, formal wear winner and over 30’s all first place in 2013. How you remain so humble and lovable? Success has not made you the least arrogant and proud which is mostly with all the celebrity stars?

Ms. Char B:

Oh I’m not arrogant at all! I am not sure if this is a personality trait, but I’m sure that if I was to show even a hint of arrogance, then my daughter or my loved ones would slap me back into myself!

Char B on Women Fitness: The website looks amazing! I have already bookmarked it into my desktop and shall be referring back to it on a regular basis!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have done bikini, tear sheets, fitness and glamour photo shoots. They are bold and hot. What advice you wish to give to the women of today to be body confident in order to do such bold modeling?

Ms. Char B:

Learn to love yourself. Skinny isn’t the way forward and neither is obsessing. It’s about a self realization that everyone is beautiful in their own way and our bodies can be improved with feeding ourselves with the best we can get from dear Mother Nature, combined with a simple routine.

I believe women should be womanly and curvy, as well as lean and “toned”. Too much emphasis is made on how women should look, which I why I believe in a NO PHOTOSHOP policy on my website.

I am exactly as you see me in my pictures and this is how I like to set an example to my daughter and others. Almost all models are airbrushed and photo shopped heavily in some way or another and I want to show how I am not afraid to show the world the real me.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

How did you feel before and after your memorable wins in 2013 at Northern Ireland Fitness Model Association(Nifma) bikini winner, formal wear winner and over 30’s all first place. What a clean sweep?

Ms. Char B:

It was amazing. Especially with my daughter with me. She was very excited and proud, probably more excited than I was!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What advice would you like to give to the mothers for post pregnancy fitness that they would be able to get a fit post pregnancy body like you?

Ms. Char B:

I found myself doing a lot of walking around with my daughter in the buggy and I also played with her whilst I did simple exercises.
One exercise when my daughter was old enough to sit up-right, was to lay on my back, sit my daughter on my belly whilst I did slow pelvic thrusts and made silly noises to her, whilst I clenched my bottom and core!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?

Ms. Char B:

The website looks amazing! I have already bookmarked it into my desktop and shall be referring back to it on a regular basis!
