Chartreuse is the Color For Your Wardrobe

When lock-down began in March, we were in knitwear and jacket weather, but now with the early days of summer around dressing for the office or even socializing could take some adjusting to. Chartreuse is the color to add to your wardrobe.

The hue lies between lime yellow and green features on the ‘happy spectrum’ of colours. Chartreuse, takes its name from a French herbal drink, is seen as the colour pep. It has also been raking things up stylishly on everything — from printed blouses, halter tops, tees and jackets to dresses, bags and heels.

While Kim Kardashian West wore a dress in the shade of chartreuse to the Miami wedding of rapper 2 Chainz, Selena Gomez rocked a mini dress in this hue at an award show. Earlier this year, actress and influencer Heart Evangelista also turned heads in her accordion-styled chartreuse to a fashion gala in Paris.

Tips to Rock Chartreuse Hue

This is by far the easiest way to add a bit of yellow to your wardrobe and still get the benefits.

Tip:

Wear it from the waist down. This hue works well with a pop of purple or turquoise (which happen to be colors that look good on most people), so try it with a top in one of those shades. (It also goes with black.) Keep the chartreuse far away from your face, and it won’t make your skin look green.

Colour blocking is an easy way to add vibrancy and take your winter wardrobe through to the warmer months. Just add some solid colours to your outfit and watch the transformation. But remember, keep it simple and don’t be afraid to mix it up.
