Daisy Lea is best known as Playboy South Africa’s Miss May 2015. She has also designed her own line of luxury bikinis called ShowGirl Swimwear. She was also trained as a stage performer with Cirque du Soleil in Montreal.

In May 2016, she modeled for a photoshoot for Sean Stewart’s Dirty Weekend line of apparel.

Lets know Daisy Lea’s fitness & fashion secrets as she catches up with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are best known as Playboy South Africa’s Miss May 2015. You also have designed your own line of luxury bikinis called ShowGirl Swimwear. Walk us through your incredible modelling journey so far.

Ms. Daisy Lea:

I wanted to be a Playmate since I was 12 years old, so I’m really grateful & lucky that my dream came true! Playboy South Africa gave the photographer the go-ahead to shoot my playmate pictorial right away based on other photos they had seen of me, they thought I would be a a “sure thing,” so I’m the first playmate they published that didn’t have a test shoot. We shot the centerfold in 1 day, finishing at 3am!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a typical day in your life.

Ms. Daisy Lea:

I wake up, go straight to Starbucks- I can’t do anything without Starbucks lol. Then I’ll typically go to a ballet class. If I have a photo shoot, I wake up a lot earlier for hair & makeup & go to ballet at night instead. At night, I like to eat at Nobu or cook at home, and then watch TV or a movie in my bed, and go to sleep early. I like sleeping a lot.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?

Ms. Daisy Lea:

My main form of exercise is ballet class, but I occasionally take mat Pilates & gymnastics. I go to a class 3 times a week.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Daisy Lea:

I try to eat whole, fresh foods, and I almost never eat at a restaurant. Even the most expensive, “healthy” restaurants use cooking oil & that’s unacceptable to me.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. What are your Top 5 Skincare & Haircare Tips?

Ms. Daisy Lea:

1. Don’t over wash your hair or dye it too often. If you have extensions like I do, make sure you get a kind that you can wear long term that doesn’t do too much damage to your real hair.
2. Don’t wear makeup every day. I ONLY wear makeup for a photo shoot or date.
3. I religiously moisturize my skin. Twice a day. Moisturizing is the most important thing you can do for your skin if you want to look young for a long time. Also don’t drink alcohol, do drugs, or stay up late. All of that is bad for your skin & I don’t do any of those things. You will look “rode hard & put away wet” really quickly if that is your lifestyle.
4. Wear sunscreen, avoid lounging in the sun in general. Unless you want to look like leather in a few years lol. Drink a lot of water.
5. Filler looks great in faces, but Botox does not typically look good. Avoid Botox- but yes to fillers.
6. The best mask is honey mixed with lemon juice. You don’t need expensive products. I also sleep with Aquaphor under my eyes (in addition to moisturizer on my face, neck & hands).

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have also been trained as a stage performer with Cirque du Soleil in Montreal. Tell us more about your experience working with them.

Ms. Daisy Lea:

I trained with them for contortion age 16 to 17. I trained about 10 hours a day, it was a really rigorous program, but SO much fun! They spoke French, so I rarely understood what anyone was saying, but it’s interesting- you don’t really need to speak the same language to understand athletic instruction.

Prior to training in Montreal, I was a merit scholarship ballet student at the School of American Ballet in New York City. I danced & did gymnastics & contortion growing up about 40 hours a week. I was homeschooled to accommodate my training schedule.

All of that training is a big part of why I have a good body today. I’ve also always had a healthy diet, my entire life.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Being Playboy’s Playmate, share your Top 3 Tips to give your best shot for a magazine photoshoot.

Ms. Daisy Lea:

1. Be comfortable- if you’re trying too hard- the picture won’t look natural.
2. The hair & makeup has to be excellent.
3. Come well rested.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Tell us your current Top 5 Fashion Must-haves.

Ms. Daisy Lea:

1. My favorite thing in my closet right now is a black leather Chanel sneaker. It’s a great basic that I wear almost every day.
2. Black leggings- I love wearing them every day because I like how I can kick my legs in them if I feel like it lol.
3. Oversized sweaters (I’m often cold)
4. Over the knee boots. They look great dressed up or down & are comfortable.
5. A comfortable cotton sports bra. I have breast implants, so I like having the support.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding models, who all are your followers and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in this field?

Ms. Daisy Lea:

For modeling- I would say do a lot of shoots- trade shoots are great to get comfortable. And you don’t need someone in the industry to tell you if you have “what it takes” or even to help you necessarily. Create your own brand, then they will come to you. Agents & casting directors typically are not good at spotting talent, or building & creating it.

Let’s remember that the studios didn’t like Marilyn Monroe, and Kim Kardashian never had an agent. Do whatever you want, build your own brand of who YOU want to be, and how you envision yourself. Don’t listen to anything someone says about you or take it personal. Just keep your chin up & keep pursuing what you want.
