Hollywood Parenting and Relationship Expert Daphne Wayans Reveals her Top Fitness and Parenting Secrets in a candid conversation with Namita Nayyar, President – Women Fitness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were born and raised in Inglewood, California. With a passion for the arts, you attended Otis Parsons and FIDM. You have also been one of the cast members on VH1’s reality television series “Hollywood Exes” and “Marrying The Game.” You have now become a confidant and trusted adviser in your A-list Hollywood circles. Tell us something about this spectacular professional journey?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: The journey is really guided by me being true to myself and minting my wholeness and my personal viewpoints. I don’t know how it got to be so “spectacular.” I guess as a native Angeleno, I just was always in creative circles, with Movers and Shakers.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are a devoted mother of five beautiful children. Would you like to share with us a memorable moment that has been a part of motherhood?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: The entire journey is one big movie. I guess one memory that stands out, was the first day I really felt like a mother. I was 6 weeks pregnant. I saw an ultrasound that only showed a black circle with a white circle within it. It was a heartbeat and nothing else. But I knew that was my baby; and in that moment I was willing to give my life for that being, for that pulsating morsel of life. And that commitment instantly changed me. My priorities were now different and I knew I would never be the same again.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You are a world-leading Media & TV Personality, Relationship and Parenting Expert, and most importantly a Mother. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: LOL! There are 20 other hats that I wear too- a chef, a life coach, a driver, a tutor, etc. I manage it all like a nutty clown in a circus, with a sense of humor and perseverance, and the willingness to get up every day and do my best (you know a clown is a real job in the circus).

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine which you may wish to share?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: My exercises change with my lifestyle and needs. When my babies were little it really incorporated them- squats/lunges with them on my shoulders, etc. Now I try to include exercise in my life. I go on a walk whilst I check my social media, I do matt work whilst I watch my Ted Talks. I choose the path of most physical resistance. You know what I mean? I don’t so much like a contrived “routine”; I want fitness to be my life. Don’t be surprised if you see me out and about with a sack of laundry balancing on my head, like the beautiful women in Africa.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: I’m pretty lucky in that I naturally like rabbit food. Given the option of all foods, I will naturally gravitate towards those that are healthy. That’s just my palette. I find those foods taste delicious and make me feel really good.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Tell us about your Top 3 Easy Health & Fitness Tips for mothers to stay in good shape?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: a. Walk- a primal exercise that is not only good for the body but also the mind.
b. Water- the basis of life.
c. Whole foods – foods that have the least amount of invasion possible.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What advice can you give to working couples wanting to plan a family, to balance their professional life with the challenges of bringing up their children in a healthy environment?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: Well, that’s several questions in one. In terms of balancing your family life with your professional life, maybe the mum could consider making here role as a mother her career for the children’s formative years; it will pay her exponentially. Bringing up children in a healthy environment is a challenge; but if you take a less-is-more approach and stick to things as simple and close to nature as you can, you can’t go wrong.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were one of the cast members on VH1’s reality television series “Hollywood Exes”. Would you like to share with us your experience on the show?

Ms. Daphne Wayans: My experience on Hollywood Exes was a beautiful one, because in real life I have a sisterhood with those women and I really love them! So it was such a pleasure to work with them.
