Elizabeth Marshall is a four time FHM Cover model, a serial investor and a business enthusiast who adventures all over the world.

She was born in Alabama and raised in Texas. After three semesters of college, she decided to strike out on her own as a business woman, and has been self-employed ever since. She is married to another successful business owner and is currently working on a new start up.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with Elizabeth Marshall:

Namita Nayyar:

You were born in Alabama and raised in Texas. You decided after three semesters of college to strike out on your own as a businesswoman, have been a successful self-employed entrepreneur, and have also become a hugely successful and widely recognized model, gracing the cover of the hugely popular FHM Magazine four separate times. Tell us more about your incredible professional journey.

Elizabeth Marshall:

The story is too long to tell here, but the overall moral of my story is, KEEP GOING. No matter what life throws at you, keep putting one foot in front of the other, even if you’re only able to get through one day or one moment at a time. Everything passes, so learn how to take care of yourself and how to choose happiness during your low points. Teaching yourself that peace and happiness are often choices, and not always present feelings, is a very valuable life tool.

Elizabeth Marshall:

Gracing the cover of FHM Magazine four times has been an absolute dream come true. Receiving the physical copies was a big full circle moment for me. I remembered for the first time since I was a kid what it felt like to dream about something like this while staring at magazines in the grocery store aisle. It’s something that I’m grateful for, worked hard for, and that proves that the journey really was worth it.

Namita Nayyar:

You are a world-leading fashion and glamour model, social media personality, fitness lifestyle expert, and brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Elizabeth Marshall:

I’m lucky to have an amazing family. We all work as a big happiness unit to support and love and strengthen one another.

Tell us about your fitness regimen

Elizabeth Marshall:

My exercise regimen involves a fairly equal amount of weight lifting and cardio. I alternate between upper body and lower body days when I lift, and I get in thirty minutes of high intensity cardio (usually indoor cycling) at least 5 days a week.

Namita Nayyar:

How do you train your abs? One secret to your toned body.

Elizabeth Marshall:

My secret to training abs? I don’t! Well, not very often, at least. I get most of my core stabilization training through keeping my abs tight during cardio, but I’ll throw in a 90 second-2 minute plank every once in a while if I want to throw in some extra work. Abs are made in the kitchen, by following a specific nutrition plan. A light upper core and light lower core workout three times a week are all that anyone who is after a small waist should be doing. Training too much makes your abs BIGGER.

Namita Nayyar:

Are you on a special diet that allows you to remain so healthy and physically fit?

Elizabeth Marshall:

I see a local doctor who used to compete in bodybuilding competitions six to eight weeks out if I want to prepare for something specific, like a photo shoot. He writes me a very specific diet plan that I follow for several weeks leading up to the event. When I’m not prepping for something specific, I usually eat in a keto/low carb fashion, eating REAL food, and having a cheat meal once every 7-10 days.

Namita Nayyar:

Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep it to a minimum.

Elizabeth Marshall:

As far as eating healthy is concerned, I love sweet potatoes with cinnamon and sweetener, medium rare steak, chicken salad (in moderation or without too much Mayo), salmon, and monk fruit sweetener (the best tasting natural sweetener that I’ve found). I avoid empty calories and foods with processed white sugar, ingredients that I can’t pronounce, high fructose corn syrup, stuff with a long list of unnatural ingredients, and soda, both diet and regular.

Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.

Elizabeth Marshall:

I’m a huge fan of treating both my hair and my skin from the inside out, so I start my routine by taking collagen capsules and a supplement called Nutrafol, which helps to make my hair stronger, longer and healthier after several months of regular use. I’m strict about a daytime and nighttime skin care routine, I always take off my makeup before bed, and I always use sunscreen during the day, no matter where I am or what I’m doing. It’s much easier to practice preventative skincare than it is to address and fix damage later on in life.

Namita Nayyar:

Five skincare myths.

Elizabeth Marshall:

Tanning booths are safe and don’t cause aging or skin cancer. Both are untrue.

The higher the SPF, the better the protection. You should use a minimum of 30, but anything over SPF 50 is unnecessary.

Expensive skin care products work best. In reality, most ingredients found in anti-aging skincare are similar whether they cost a little or a lot.

You don’t need sunscreen on a cloudy day. UV radiation is always present, whether it’s cloudy or not.

I’m protected all day if I wear makeup then has sun protection. You’re protected for a while, but sunblock should be reapplied every two hours, whether it’s on your face or your body. Lots of makeup companies make mineral sunblock in a powder form that applies seamlessly over makeup, so it’s easier than ever to make sure you’re reapplying sun protection the way that you should.

Namita Nayyar:

Five athletic leisure brands you love to wear.

Elizabeth Marshall:

Beach Riot, Alala, Ultracor, Urban Savage and Blanc Noir.

Namita Nayyar:

Five travel destinations on your wish list.

Elizabeth Marshall:

Bali, Prague, Peru, Iceland and Norway

Namita Nayyar:

You are the creator of Elizabeth-Marshall.com. Elaborate about this endeavor of yours?

Elizabeth Marshall:

I initially created the website as a platform to sell prints on since I was receiving so many requests for them, but it has also served as motivation for me to expand as an entrepreneur. I now have a place where I can organize my entire future endeavor under my own personal brand umbrella, which helps the creative thought process as well.

Namita Nayyar:

Do you have any advice or motivation to share with aspiring fitness or glamour models about climbing the ladder of success?

Elizabeth Marshall:

As I mentioned earlier, don’t quit! The industry is changing fast these days, and you no longer need to be right out of high school, to work with an agency, or to be rail thin in order to be influential and to make your dreams come true. Get to know photographers and industry people and chart your own path if you have to. The ceiling is only as high as you imagine it to be.

Namita Nayyar:

Tell us five must carry things in your gym bag

Elizabeth Marshall:

Dry shampoo, a towel, a water bottle, my FitBit and a light, nice smelling perfume or body spray.

Namita Nayyar:

You have done bold photo shoots for a number of fashion brands, FHM magazine and on your Instagram handle @elizabeth.a.marsh. How you are so body confident? Any advice to your fans?

Elizabeth Marshall:

As a former 20-something, I’m convinced that a lot of body confidence in women comes from age. I started feeling so much more comfortable in my own skin after I turned 30. My best advice to women is to make peace with your body, no matter where you are in life or where you are in your fitness journey. The female body is a remarkable, miraculous thing, and we should start treating it that way.

Namita Nayyar:

Your idea of a perfect date?

Elizabeth Marshall:

Anything outdoors on a beautiful day

Namita Nayyar:

What do you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and its message for its visitors?

Elizabeth Marshall:

You are beautiful just the way you are. Don’t ever forget that.

Namita Nayyar:

Today social media plays a vital role in getting your message across to your followers and fans. What is your message for your 215,000 followers on Instagram?

Elizabeth Marshall:

I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am for your support. I’m beyond grateful to all of you for thinking that I’m interesting enough to be worth your time.
