Reality TV star Farah Sattaur is best known as a series regular on the British MTV reality television series Ex On The Beach, which premiered on April 22, 2014. She won her first beauty pageant in 2002, when she was crowned Miss Teen Philippines UK and is also a former Playboy Bunny.

Let us get to know more about this popular TV Personality from Farah herself in a candid chat with Namita Nayyar, President, Women Fitness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Starting out as Miss Teen Philippines UK 2002, you rose to fame when you joined as a series regular on the British MTV reality television series Ex On The Beach. Share with us your journey in the field of entertainment to making a mark for yourself?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

Having an arts background from a very young age I always knew I wanted to be in the entertainment industry and at 17, Miss Teen Philippines UK was my first experience of the pageantry world that I loved and so proud of winning. A lot of people’s perception of pageants are very stereotypical, when in reality so much more goes into it. Ex On The Beach came into my life after cheekily bunking off work one night and being scouted at a London night club.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have also been a former Playboy Bunny. Tell us what motivated you towards entering the modelling and entertainment industry?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

I remember when I was around 10 always strutting up and down the corridor at my family home at that time haha posing to the mirror at the end and never getting bored. There’s a certain attitude you have to embody on the catwalk and I love that feeling, it’s extremely empowering and it was the same feeling representing the Playboy brand. Again a lot more stereotypes with this one, I had so many people assuming it was a strip club or you had to have huge boobs to get the job when in fact it was the complete opposite.

There were around 30 girls in my audition and having three stages to go through, only 3 were successful including myself. The main reason I took the job was because I knew I would earn great money and I wanted to save for a mortgage and with the job I had at the time, it just wasn’t realistic. I started as a waitress and after 3 months I was promoted to a VIP host. Modelling whilst earning great money, c’mon that’s not rocket science! I loved my experience as a bunny, the events and lucky enough to say I’ve met some life long friends.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Farah, you are one of the most popular cast members on Ex on the Beach. Share with us your experience doing the show?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

After being scouted I was very reluctant to attend an audition and was rejecting emails and calls for a couple of weeks but then I thought to just go and feel it out. After a week I got a call that MTV producers loved me and wanted to meet with me, and later that same day I found out that I was casted as an original member. I was so happy and excited, although nervous more than anything because I only had a few days to prep before they flew me out. It was definitely a roller coaster of an experience, very incestuous and thank god myself and four others didn’t have any ex’s arrive, however you still live through everyone else’s drama. The main question I get asked about the show is “was it scripted” and I can put my hand on my heart and honestly say it wasn’t. There were moments that were more emotionally challenging but I also learned so much about myself and when we had a good time, it really was the best.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

As a reality TV star and Vlogger, provide us a glimpse into a day in your remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle.

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

Haha well if it’s a day of me trying to multitask, my day will consist of posting on my social media. Staying active and engaging with my followers is crucial but this is something I do struggle with, as I am an avid live in the moment kinda girl. I would then brainstorm more content and collaborating with brands definitely helps with this. In between there is usually a couple of meetings, emails to stay on top of and then getting glammed up for an event in the eve.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have an fit physique and healthy body. Unfold the exercises that comprise your fitness regime on a daily basis?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

I’m going to be completely straightforward and I’m sure if you follow me on social media it’s pretty clear that I’m a foodie. I do have a fast metabolism and so grateful for this, as this really does allow me to have more leverage when it comes to what and how much I can eat. I try and work out 3/4 times a week but I’m definitely not a gym freak, I find it so boring however I find fun in fitness at a dance class, boxing or outdoor training which is so much more scenic and motivating.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Adequate nutrition is an integral part of staying healthy. A lot of hit & trial goes into achieving the right diet suited for a body-type. Which diet do you follow to stay healthy and physically fit? Enlist your 5 anytime favorite foods?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

I feel like there is so much pressure on both men and women to maintain a perfect physique with what’s been shown to us on a daily basis in the media, which I don’t think is realistic as everyone has their own personal goal which isn’t always what’s portrayed. I’ve tried a few diets that I weren’t fond of, although now I feel everything in moderation with exercise is what works for me. Coming from both the Philippines and Guyana the food my mum and dad cooks is ridiculously yummy so firstly I would have to add my dad’s lamb curry, dal and roti, along with my mum’s rice, chicken and vegetable stew (with some spring rolls) to my top five favorite food dishes. Then it would probably have to be pizza, pasta and fajitas.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have a flawless skin and long, flowing hair – what skincare and hair care tips would you like to suggest to our visitors?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

Thank you! I think the trick here is to not do too much, I wash my hair once or twice a week because it’s important your scalp gets the natural oils your body produces. Moisturizing your skin daily is a must and I love using coconut oil and simply drinking lots of water, which I’m sure you can agree has various benefits.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Venturing as a YouTube shaker, how do you plan to grow your channel and connect with your fans through this media?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

One of my goals is to be more consistent on my YouTube channel, continue with my collaborations and show content that I’m passionate about.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With a massive social media following you’re a social media sensation. How does it feel to be a role model & an inspiration in influencing a healthy lifestyle of so many individuals? 5 tips to overcome camera shyness while posing for a swimwear photoshoot?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

I wouldn’t go that far but thank you 🙂 At first it was a bit weird but I’m truly flattered and ultimately I just try and stay true to myself, I’m not here to pretend I work out everyday but I feel like I’ve mastered the perfect balance for my body. Confidence is key and if I convey anything to my followers it would be that and that also is everything at a swimwear shoot. Knowing your angles, bump up your training regime a couple of weeks before the shoot date, along with what you eat, ensure you get enough sleep the night before and finally enjoy it, have fun, relax because the team you’re with are there to get the best out of you.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

It is often said that there is cut-throat competition and you have to work really hard to survive in the entertainment industry. What would be your 5 best tips for a newcomer opting for modelling as a career?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

In any sector of the entertainment industry without question you can say that the competition is cut throat. The best tips I can offer is master your craft, be consistent, become thick skinned as quick as you can, remain honest to yourself and don’t be influenced by others.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are also best known for your enviable curves. What are your top 5 tips to have a healthy and fit body?

Ms. Farah Sattaur:

I love my jelly bits haha and that’s why I don’t obsessively focus on over exercising or feeling bad when I treat myself to a juicy burger and chips. My five tips would be to manage a balanced diet that best suits your lifestyle, exercise a few times per week, don’t over indulge with smoking or alcohol, try and get enough rest each night and most importantly feed your soul.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
