Leryn Franco: Javelin: Leryn Dahiana Franco Steneri was born on 1st March 1982 in Asunci�n. She is a Paraguayan model and athlete. She specializes in the javelin throw and became an Internet sensation in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Her personal best throw is 57.77 metres, achieved in June 2012 in Barquisimeto. She is perhaps more famous for her beauty and figure and modelling than athletic ability and has appeared, most notably, in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
Raised in the capital Asunci�n, she broke the national records for the under-17 age group in 1998 for both the javelin and triple jump. After winning bronze medals in 1999 and 2000, Franco won the South American Junior Championship javelin title in 2001. Franco was the South American under-23 champion in 2004.
Her performances at the World level are 24th at the World Championship in 2003 and 42nd out of 45 at the Athens Olympics in 2004. Although she set a personal best in 2007, she finished 12th (last) at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro. She competed in Beijing Olympics in 2008 and London Olympics in 2012.

Franco combines her athletics with a career as a model and beauty pageant contestant. In 2006 she was runner-up Miss Universo Paraguay 2006. She has taken part in the Miss Bikini of the Universe pageant. Franco has her own calendar, which was photographed in 2007 by Martin Crespo.

Leryn Franco is an athlete, Tv presenter, and model. She is also a bachelor in Business Administration.Born in Paraguay, on March 1st, 1982, Leryn is currently the only Paraguayan athlete who attended 3 Olympic Games: Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, and London 2012. While competing, she became a South American champion in the minor, juvenile, and under-23 categories. She also became a Panamerican Juniors vice champion. She has been holding the javelin throw absolute record in her country for over twelve years in a row.

For two years, she lived in Italy, where she reached second place at the Italian championship. In 2010, she took part at several international events. Through her outstanding performances, Paraguay earned 3 gold and 2 silver medals at the Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, and Montevideo Grand Prixes. In addition to that, she reached the top at the Argentinian Championship. However, she could not participate at the Iberoamerican Games in Spain due to an injury in her elbow.

In June 2011, she earned a silver medal and set a new Paraguayan record at the South American Athletic Competition in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

A month later, she obtained a silver medal at the Venezuelan competition Juegos del Alba. Her performance, which surpassed the base mark needed to enter the Panamerican Games by 6 meters, helped her set another Paraguay record. She attended that event while convalescing from swine flu, a disease she caught 20 days before.

On June 8, 2012, after winning two gold medals at the South American GP held in Montevideo and Buenos Aires, and a silver medal at the Colombia GP, Leryn got a silver medal at the Ibero-American Athletics Championship. Not only did she set a new record for Paraguay (57.77 meters), but she was also allowed to take part in the Olympic Games in London.At the moment, she is represented by Jey Ritter Exceptional People Management, a Paraguayan agency that also works with several partnerships from all over the world.
