Jasmine Star Dustin was born in the small rural New Hampshire town of Auburn on New Year’s Day, 1983. It was almost as if she was destined for stardom–thus her middle name!

Shortly after graduating high school she took the first big step to achieving her lifelong dream and moved to Los Angeles. Within a short time she had graced the pages of magazines such as GQ, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Maxim, FHM among others.

Jasmine has traveled to London, New York and Paris to pursue her career in modeling and has landed campaigns for companies such as Fredericks of Hollywood, Johnny Walker, William Rast, Duwop Cosmetics, UGG, Samsung and many more.

She has been coached by Larry Moss of L.A.’s Larry Moss Studios, who has worked with such actresses as Hilary Swank and Helen Hunt. Jasmine has featured in films such as Rush Hour 3 (2007), City Of Jerks (2012) and Let the Game Begin (2010) opposite Michael Madsen, along with many independent films that later went onto the film festival circuit. Jasmine has worked on the top television shows such as CSI: Miami (2002), Eleventh Hour (2008) Knight Rider (2008) and FX’s “The League”. Jasmine has been a series regular for two seasons on the TV show Doheny Models (2010) and Get Out (2003), in which she travels the world doing high adventure sports. Jasmine also appeared in the second season of BET’s hit show “Being Mary Jane” opposite Gabrielle Union.

When Jasmine isn’t on set she is on the streets giving back to the homeless and their pets. Jasmine started her own animal charity Cause4Paws back in 2012 which focuses on the shelter animals as well as the homeless community and their pets. On a weekly basis she is passing out tents and food in the cities of Los Angeles and Van Nuys.

Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness catches up with Jasmine Dustin on movies, TV and motivational tips.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You first appeared in the 2006 show Fashion House, the 2010 series Doheny Models and the 2014 BET series Being Mary Jane. In 2007, you were voted the sexiest model of 2007 by FHM Australia, were on the cover of FHM magazine four times in 2011, and became the face of Johnny Walker in 2012. Tell us about your journey, how it started and how it has been so far?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

I started modeling at a young age back when I lived in NH. I knew that when I turned 18 I wanted to do it full time as my career. So when I graduated high school I packed 3 suitcases and headed to LA. I stayed in a Motel 6 and rented a car until I got situated. I got my first agent while I was walking down Melrose ave, shortly after that I had my first campaign and billboard for Fredricks Of Hollywood. Shortly after being in LA I booked the hit TV show Deal or No Deal as a briefcase babe. I realized then that I loved to be on a TV set. I started studying acting and the rest has been history. I’ve been very thankful to have traveled all over the world for a job that I absolutely love.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life.

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

My day usually starts out with my morning Vanilla flavored coffee outside in the backyard with my four rescue pups. After I get a little caffeine I head to my morning workout for at least 45 minutes to an hour. My day is then filled with auditions, meetings or photo shoots. Lately I’ve been traveling a ton for work so I find myself in the airport many days of the week.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

I try and switch my daily routine up between a spin class, a Boot camp and a weights class. I joined classpass over a year ago and love the variety. I tend to get sick of the gym so its worked out perfectly.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What kind of diet do you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

Well, I love food!!! I tend to surround my days with where I’m going to eat. Thankfully I have the time to workout 5 days a week to off set the food. When I’m getting ready for a shoot I always try to cut out the carbs and eat clean. I live for red wine and frozen yogurt so I’m always trying to find alternatives to a healthier version.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skin care routine.

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

I tend to stick to Paul Mitchel products for my hair. Lots of deep conditioning treatments at home.

When I turned 30 I started to suffer from rosacea so my face has to stay out of the sun. Its always a work in progress with my skin. I’m always trying out new products to see what helps.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have featured in films such as Rush Hour 3 (2007), City Of Jerks (2012) and Let the Game Begin (2010) and top television shows such as CSI: Miami (2002), Eleventh Hour (2008), Knight Rider (2008), FX’s “The League” and the second season of BET’s hit show “Being Mary Jane”, how has your experience as an actress been?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

I love being on a TV or film set. Its such a different kind of experience than being at a photo shoot. I get to become a character other then myself and dive into the work. You become someone new every project which is always fun. I’ve been really lucky to have worked with some amazing actors that I always learn from.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What are your Top 5 All-Time Favorite Exercises while on the go?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

1. Squats in my hotel room
2. Butt Blasters
3. lunges while walking
4. simple crunches
5. planks

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have been associated actively with the charity, Cause4Paws, that is dear to your heart. Tell us how have you been able to achieve and quench your thirst of giving back to the society through this endeavor of yours?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

I started cause4paws about 6 years ago. Giving back has always been a passion of mine so I knew as I got older I wanted to start my own charity and get heavily involved in giving back.

Cause4paws focuses on the homeless in the LA area and their animals. I spend many many days out in the homeless encampments having conversations with them, doing activities, creating friendships and bonds. I try and get many off the street and into housing. I’ve been filming a documentary about it for the past few years to show the world that all they need is a simple hello sometimes.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have done various photo shoots with top magazines like GQ, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Maxim, FHM and many more. How are you so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

Oh gosh, I think I can always find something wrong with my body. I think like most women I’ll always struggle with what I think is perfect. We live in a society of social media and it puts a lot of pressure on young women. I think everyone forgets that we all have flaws..even us models.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What do you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?

Ms. Jasmine Dustin:

I’d love to say to all the visitors that all women are beautiful in their own way. Never forget that.
