Jennifer Nicole Lee was born on 13th June 1975. She is an American fitness model, actress, motivational speaker, and author. She is known for losing 70 pounds and launching a career as a fitness guru after bearing two children.

Jennifer Nicole Siciliano was born in Rochester, New York, to Italian immigrants; the family later moved to Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in international relations from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Lee lives in Miami, Florida with her sons, Jaden and Dylan, and her husband, Edward Lee.

Lee describes herself as having “no athletic background whatsoever,” and says she has struggled with her weight her entire life. She weighed 170 pounds when she got married, and continued to gain weight during both of her pregnancies, eventually reaching 200 pounds after the birth of her second child. Lee lost 70 pounds, was crowned “Miss Bikini America” in 1996, and launched a career as a “fitness guru”. JNL, Inc. (now JNL, Inc. Worldwide) was founded in January 2004. Her books have been published both electronically and in print. She also launched a line of swimwear. As of 2012, Lee has appeared on 44 magazine covers, including three appearances on the cover of Oxygen magazine.

She is also the subject of a calendar titled “The Jennifer Nicole Lee Body Paint Calendar.” Lee was cast as a Principle Sun Gym Trainer. Lee was named Muscle & Fitness Magazine’s 2006 Ms. Muscle and Fitness, a title she shared with Alicia Marie. Lee is a brand ambassador for nutritional supplement company Bio-Engineered Supplements and Nutrition (BSN).

She has appeared on “Inside Edition”, “Oprah”, “The Early Show,” “E! Entertainment,” “Fox and Friends,” and “Extra.”

In 2012, CBS News named Lee as “America’s Sexiest Fitness Mom.”Lee has two clothing lines. The Jennifer Nicole Lee Collection through Rogiani is designed by Elisabetta Rogiani for fitness model photo shoots. Lee’s own line is called the JNL Clothing Line, which includes gym and street wear. In March 2011, Lee opened the Fitness Model Factory in Miami, Florida. The “factory” is a production studio containing photography and videography studios, hair and makeup styling, and coaching for fitness models.

In 2011, Lee was mentioned as one of the “Top Three Females in the Fitness Industry” on Yahoo Sports. Lee was also named one of Splash Online’s “Best Celebrity Bikini Babes of 2011.” Lee’s trademark phrase is “Strong is the new skinny.” Lee appeared in the 2013 film Pain & Gain, directed by Michael Bay, and starring Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson. Her character, a Principle Sun Gym trainer, had a “Sun Gym” trainer’s shirt.

Lee is the creator of a fitness program called JNL Fusion. JNL Fusion advertising emphasizes “super spiking,” or the introduction of cardio between weight training exercises. Lee states that JNL Fusion is designed after her own workout routine: 4 training sessions of 45 minutes each per week. The workout method is targeted to women.

So they have given me some questions I’m going to go through them. I am going to answer them. So remember it is the number one show on iTunes, the JNL show and I am excited to give you this exclusive interview.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Elaborate on your trade mark slogan that you gave to the women of today “Strong is the new skinny”?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

My slogan that the ‘Strong is the new skinny’ is that any women he can stop dieting down the zero size or size two, women need to focus on being strong, strong physically and also strong mentally and strong spiritually, a lot goes down the motivation, we can diet, diet down and count the calories and exercise, but if we were not strong spiritually we are not going to have motivation to continue towards our goal. So “Strong is the new skinny” really mean that we must be fearless and be dedicated and strong to grabbing life out of it and dragging them down and going after our goal to make it happen. Great questions here.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

As a mother of two children, taking a career in modelling and as a bikini competitor can be quite challenging. Kindly tells us how you handled such a challenging situation in your life?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

Another great question. It really is about beginning young. I think that I can intelligently say that I really was a pioneer in making it okay for women mom to come out after giving birth, be sexy, be fit, make their time for themselves to work on, train and to balance. I remember that my mom and her mom and all the generations of mothers on my side of the family they would become the silent baby holder.

They would quietly become to lose her identity and really get loved all her motherhood and I do not really reach for their own personal passion, dreams, goals and aspirations. So that how I do it is that I really delegate a lot of things that I don’t necessarily need to do, I have a good team around me, but also I outsmart the entire situation. You don’t need to go to the gym to work out, you can work out at home when baby is sleeping or you can even incorporate children to a healthy lifestyle. I went competing because it also keeps me focused on my goals and keep me also razor sharp. Sometimes when you don’t have any goals you don’t work as hard as you would work without one. Well that I really suggest everyone out there is that even when you are not a Bikini competitor make sure you have goals.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Share your exercise routine that you do to maintain such a bikini perfect physique?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

I believe in my JNL fusion workout method I created it. It is six circuits based off of strength and use with cardio burst that super spike your metabolism. What is your diet? Do you take a particular fixed regulated diet comprising of nutrients and vitamins to keep you in perfect health?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

I don’t believe in the word ‘diet’ because number one what is the first three letters of the word diet. It is DIE and I been on the diet where you eat certain amount of food, you have to do certain amount of exercise and you’re supposed to be healthy and I really had a flashback to my notion, because when I dieted I would get really skinny, really frail and it was not healthy.

So what I do is, I have a food plan, I plan my food. I plan my food to where I eat breakfast like a queen. It’s my biggest meal of the day. I eat lunch like a princess. It’s my medium size meal of the day and then dinner. The dinner is like a pauper or peasant. It is my smallest meal of the day. So I’m working with my metabolism. I also only do a lean source of protein. Whether it’s a egg or lean chicken or lean turkey, or poultry or even lean red meat and then our supplement that with a the night whole-grain bread, brown rice or quinoa, barley or in a whole-wheat bread, and now have a fibrous carb which is a vegetable.

It is pretty much what I eat and I really also have a lot of great recipes in my cookbook called the Fun Fit Foodie cookbook. It’s really great because you’re getting gourmet healthy foods and recipes that are easy to make but you’re getting a lot of the savoury, exotic spices that aren’t high in calories or high in carb, are high in sugar, here you are getting that gourmet exotic really good recipes. Without having it being bland and boring like boiled chicken and beans, asparagus, and you’re able to really enjoy eating again. It also awakens your inner self. I urge everyone to go and cook because you know what you’re eating and what you are preparing and making it is a lot of fun. What is your motivation to take a multi-faceted personality of a fitness model, actress, motivational speaker, author, fitness entrepreneur and a fit mother?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

Well I we believe that women aren’t just one thing and not just a woman and not just a mom, that is not just a wife, but there all of those things. You know women is like a diamond they multifaceted and they are multidimensional and it’s okay to wear many hats and I’m excited today motivate people to awaken their inner fitness model, even if you’ll never land on the magazine cover. It’s okay to walk around like one, to talk like one, to train like one and eat like one; you get the same benefits as all the other super fitness models do. If you eat like a super fitness model actually I wrote the fitness model diet. In my book The Fitness Model Diet I talk about beauty, I talk about diet, rest, relaxation, meditation, skin care tip, hair tip and I really make the total package. It’s a lifestyle. I’m again being doing a lot of work in front of the camera I don’t know that as an actress I have words in Michael Bay movie called Pain & Gain and I run a lot about a lot of actresses and actors, I am in front of the TV a lot and It can really drain you because the lights of the camera it can suck your energy out. I really suggest always being mediagenic, get your media training, and get training in front of the camera to be your best, you can do in one take, you are not there all day filming. Fitness entrepreneur. That’s a very big title. I like that word, because I think the people making the big headway in the fitness industry. They are not following the rules, they are actually breaking the rules and they are a game changer. They’re not playing the game, they actually changing the game. What advice you have for mothers who consider you as their role model and wish to be as fit as you?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

I would just say I’m honoured. I’m honoured to be a role model. I really think that role very seriously. I do not have many role models growing up a lot of women around me was growing up, one really people that I looked up to and I wanted to be, so I had to make a list of the personalities and the characteristics that I wanted to be at the moment I got older. Being caring, being loving, being in the moment, being fit, being strong, being really resilient having the exceptional fortitude to be able to build businesses and to make them work so I’m honoured to be a role model and I think women are such a picture beautiful species have a favourite I feel like women have been branded bad if they are aggressive, ambitious, I think, actually, that’s what we need more of women that go out there make things happen.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

Great question and thank you, I really believe in at home beauty treatments. Of course I do a facial every two weeks. I believe in getting really good facial using gentle cleanser, loving your skin not abusing it. I do of course only use some block, I use a lot of product from Yonka, which I love, I love milk cleanser, I love the toner, I love the day moisturizer, the night moisturizer, everything by Yonka I love. Skin treatments- Yes, of course, facials every two weeks but then I do a mask every week at home whether it is a cleansing mask or I foliate, I always believe I even write about it in my fitness book about how you must number one explence, and then you must tone and then you must exfoliate and then you must moisturize, moisturize, moisturize Hair I do a weekly hair treatment deep conditioner treatment. I do a lot of again deep conditioner treatment once a week when I’m not doing photo shoots or filming I get my hair up in a bun with the conditioners I don’t over style it or over fry it for all the heat from the blow dryer and the curling iron or the flat iron.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

Tell us about your book “The Jennifer Nicole Lee Fitness Model Diet: JNL’s Super Fitness Model Secrets to a Sexy, Strong, Sleek Physique” and who are the targeted audience who shall benefit the most on reading it?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

Actually that is one of my favourite book, it’s a book that I created because I got a lot had a e-mails and questions saying Jennifer how can I get that the model diet body. I could I look like my body just jumped out of magazine. The book itself is really a compilation of eating, sleeping, rest, relaxation, exercise and nutrition and also motivational food if you, to keep you well spirited to be inspired to, to continue on your journey, on your fitness journey.

I have great information for again for my “JNL Fusion” workout, for great nutritional guidance from my fun food foodie. Philosophy towards eating also beauty tips such as that you know nothing can outsmart mother nature’s rest. Nothing like a good night rest and get good old-fashioned beauty sleep. And of course you don’t have spent a fortune at the designer department stores getting your beauty products you can get great beauty product which he does not use them. I think we get so busy we don’t apply our moisturizer. We don’t do a deep hair conditioner, we don’t have a hot bath and Epsom salts, we don’t take time to meditate and relax. You have appeared on about 71 magazine covers, won “Miss Bikini America” in 1996, Ms. Muscle and Fitness 2006 for Muscle & Fitness Magazine, in 2012 CBS News named you as “America’s Sexiest Fitness Mom”, Yahoo Sports named you as “Top Three Females in the Fitness Industry”, Splash Online’s selected you in 2011 as “Best Celebrity Bikini Babes”. How you remain so humble and lovable? Success has not made you the least arrogant and proud which is mostly with all the celebrity stars?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

While I believe that you have to keep it simple and humble. If you get simple and humble many more miracles and blessings will come with you, and I think I met a lot of beautiful, successful people in my days, and they’re not happy. They don’t have a inner glow, they their jaded, not joyful- they are sorrow, not sweet, they bitter, not beautiful. I made a goal, that no matter what success came my way to always be nice, approachable to be a complementary to others only see the good in others. And just enjoy life. How can you not enjoy life? If you think you are a just so full of yourself or conceited. You just can’t, it is not a good feeling. So I really love to connect with my fellow fitness friends and “JNL Fusion” family worldwide, and I really am just proud that I’ve been able to really enjoy life related and not let the fame and celebrity get my head. I think that is when you will enjoy it more. That is a great question.

You have done bikini, tear sheets, fitness and glamour photo shoots. They are bold and hot. What advice you wish to give to the women of today to be body confident in order to do such bold modelling?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

What a great question. What I really look at the more you know fearless modelling that I do, that is a little bit more, you know, pushing the envelope. I look at it as an art form and I take it seriously down to the hair, makeup, to the lighting, to the wardrobe, to the setting, to the emotion that I want to evoke out of the viewer.

My advice for someone who wants to do bit more of a bold photo-shoot is to just really kind of, have an out of body experience, physically remove yourself out of the situation and just be calm piece of art and allow your true expression to be through your body. You know, I really believe that we all talk with our mouth.

But the biggest and most prolific and important language is body language. The body doesn’t lie. Okay, so when you talk you can say something but your body is saying the truth, so use your body as an instrument to express how you feel , to express you know, feeling confident. If you don’t feel confident just take it, If you don’t feel sexy just take it, think of someone who makes you feel sexy when you’re doing a photo shoot make that day an experience.

Hire the best hair makeup, hire the best photographer. This is why I created my fitness model factory. I have a production studio that is here is at Miami and also we do photo shoots around the world and I have been able to create a business which is called the fitness model factory. You have regularly released “Fabulously Fit Moms” fitness DVD series, tells about them and the upcoming DVD’s in this series.

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

“Fabulously Fit Moms” was a amazing project I work on. I worked with the amazing and fitness celebrity Janis Saffell . She did the choreography along with me. We practiced and practiced, we did six series “Fabulously Fit Moms” was geared toward of busy mothers but anyone can do the workout so that’s challenging it just that much fun, “Fabulously Fit Moms” you can get my website at shopjnl.com, and it was my first time getting my feet wet at the camera doing choreography and doing exercise DVD is it that of a joy. I still at very good friends with Janis Saffell she helped me choreograph the “JNL Fusion” exercise DVD’s to get us tape ready, first to go film. She is an amazing women. So “Fabulously Fit Moms” is really iconic series that I’ll never forget, and they are still selling, it is a timeless workout, it is classic to have in your fitness DVD library.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Soon after birth of your second son you lost 70lbs and won remarkably the Bikini Competition. What advice would you like to give to the mothers that they should do for getting a fit post pregnancy body like you?

Ms. Jennifer Nicole Lee:

Number one gives yourself the gift of time. You know that it took you a good year to give birth and have the baby and allow yourself a good year to balance back after baby. Especially me I did miscarry with my first pregnancy then I got pregnant with Jaden and then I got pregnant Dylan back to back so the period of five years I was out at pregnant breast feeding somewhere between. So as soon as I gave birth to Dylan I really started working out after three months after I gave birth to him after I got my okay for my doctor and I really had a hard, it really took me a good nine months. But the first three months nothing happened. But then in the fourth month, I really start seeing my body transition and transform and firm up and tone up and shrink and it getting stronger and give yourself a gift of time. Don’t give up it is not going to happen overnight. Don’t get frustrated; don’t equate working out more and getting more results. It is about longevity, it is about doing something every day to stay focussed, to stay healthy, Don’t go out to work out for six hours straight to think you are going to lose thirty pounds. This that you have to do something every day.

My advice is that to set a goal. As soon as you decide that you want to get in shape after you’ve given birth and you get clearance from your Doctor, set a goal, have tear sheets on your vision board. Have you before photo and then like me I had pictures of women on fitness model magazines and on fashion magazines like Vogue and Cosmopolitan of what I want to look like.

So have a vision board and also have a very supportive sisterhood or fitness family around you. I have a really great website.
