Ms. Namita Nayyar: You were born in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. From a young age, you have been in the spotlight with appearing in several movies, commercials and music videos. You were featured as one of the contestants on the Citytv/ABC reality show The Bachelor. This propelled your career in acting and in reality TV to the height where you have been at the top of the world in television and modeling. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
It’s been a wild and adventurous journey. I look back and am so proud and grateful of the experiences I have made in the past 31 years on this planet. I have had the opportunity to travel the world working in many different fields (reporting, racing, modelling, acting), and experience being both in front and behind the camera as well as have a successful career and have an amazing family and husband.

I really do feel like I have it all right now. My career really took off after appearing on The Bachelor. It was a major stepping stone to be able to work with popular outlets such as ET Canada and eTalk. Now I am the proud owner of an established Cosmetic Company (Cosmetco.com) my parents started just over 30 years ago that I took over.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are world leading media personality, model, actress, reality TV star, Style Icon, TV host & Reporter, Beauty Blogger, Makeup Artist, Manager, airbrush trainer, co-owner at The Cosmetic Company and a brand ambassador. How you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I have a lot of energy and love going after my passion. I’ve slowed down my acting and television career recently to put all my focus on The Cosmetic Company (www.cosmetco.com) and my Bridal Artistry company (www.arunwaybride.com) to take it to new levels. The Cosmetic Company was owned by my parents but I recently took it over when my mom fell ill and sadly passed away from a rare disease called Amyloidosis.

I have a very supportive family and husband so that has helped tremendously with support and the transitions. My husband is a professional hockey player so he is always on the road or training so we have similar lifestyles and always support each other and take turns taking care of the house etc to make it work both in our professional and personal lives.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I workout about 3-4 times a week and try to have at least 8 hrs of sleep a night (sometimes with work it’s impossible). I do boot camp style classes and Pilates. I was a competitive gymnast and dancer growing up so I have always been quite petite and have amazing muscle memory and a super fast metabolism. I like to do lighter weights with more reps to keep long and lean.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I don’t believe in dieting but I do eat Gluten and Dairy free as I have food intolerances. I try to eat fairly healthy most of the time as it makes me feel my best….but I do enjoy spicy chicken wings and love to have gluten free pasta or pizza. I really like Mexican food too so we try to make it healthier by using extra lean meats (turkey), dairy free cheese, and corn tortillas. I also don’t over indulge. It’s all about moderation and portion size.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I work in the beauty industry where your face is your calling card. I have always taken great care of my skin and hair. A good cleanser and moisturizer, drinking plenty of water and a healthy diet is the key to great skin. I like to use a gentle azulene cleanser with a nourishing moisturizer and a collagen serum twice a day (once before makeup application and once before bed).

I use a glycolic exfoliator a couple times a week and switch up my organic shampoo and conditioners every 6 months. Putting a drop of moisturizer or BB cream in to your foundation also creates a healthy glow. My biggest secret is Organic Virgin Coconut Oil. I put a spoon full in my water every day and also use it on my face as a night cream. It’s one of those super foods. It keeps your skin hydrated, fights bacteria, unclogs pores, boosts metabolism, fights virus’ and fungus. You can’t go wrong. Just make sure it’s Virgin and Organic.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You are a talented makeup artist. tell us how after a hard day work, what kind of makeup a mature women should apply to look graceful at an evening party?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
To spice up your daytime makeup for an evening party I suggest using a moisture spray to start to add hydration back to your face. After a long day your skin can look dry and dehydrated from environment factors etc. Adding the moisture spray before you reapply some foundation makes it look fresh and keeps it from looking cakey. Add a bit of foundation (liquid) to refresh your complexion with a tad more blush and an illuminator to awaken the face. (Illuminator/High Lighter should be applied on top of your cheek bones) Adding a thin liner, another layer of mascara and a bold lip (matte red) is the perfect look that you can achieve in less than 10 minutes for an evening out!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Tell us about your experience of working as a special guest on show “The Bachelorette: The Men Tell All” ?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I had an amazing 2 years working with The Bachelor franchise. I appeared on Jake (the pilot)’s season of The Bachelor, and then appeared on Ali’s season of The Bachelorette, and again on Bachelor Pad. It was nerve racking appearing on The Men Tell All as I was there to expose one of the contestant’s secret about having a girlfriend back home. The best memories I have were making friends with the other contestants which I carried over into my personal life. We would all get together a few times a year and meet in Vegas or Chicago to have reunion parties. The one thing I don’t miss is the lack of sleep and 24 hour cameras’ capturing you in your lowest moments while sleep deprived.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Elaborate about your endeavor of working as a freelance reporter for organization USA Today (covering UFC, MMA) ?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I loved working as a freelance reporter as it put me in so many different fields. One week I would be covering the Green Carpet at the IFFA Awards covering Bollywood Royalty to the next week covering the Red Carpet at TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) and the next week I would be interviewing Dana White for USA Today. I had the privilege of meeting and interviewing A list celebrities like George Clooney, Penelope Cruz, Brad Pitt, Channing Tatum etc. It’s challenging and exciting jumping in and learning new worlds.

I loved working for Verizon as well covering the IndyCar series as open wheel racing is one of my favourite sports. I got to travel across the USA, Mexico, Canada and Australia working as media for the racing series.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding television reporters, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of television reporting?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
Don’t give up. I’ve heard ‘NO’ so many times and it just motivated me to achieve a ‘Yes’. You have to get your foot in the door so volunteering for a local news station as a reporter etc is a great start and to gain some experience. Just getting your foot in the door as a PA etc is a great way to build relationships and get noticed. You really have to be quite aggressive.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have done bold photo shoots. How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I think we are really our own worst critics – we have to learn to let that go and love the skin we’re in. Everyone has something they want to change about themselves. We need to concentrate on the positive and what we love about ourselves and that will make us truly feel beautiful. When you radiate positivity and confidence it’s contagious and attracts people to you.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You on Friday June 4, 2010 were part of Celebrity Guests at Toula’s Ristorante & Bar to raise money for SOS Children’s Village charity. Such charities are all dear to your heart, tell us how you have been able to achieve and quench your thirst of giving back to the society through such endeavor of your?

Ms. Jessie Sulidis:
I love being a part of amazing charities that give back and make differences in lives. My world was shattered 2 years ago when I lost my mother to a very rare disease called Amyloidosis. There isn’t a cure for this disease as it’s so rare and needs attention and funding for research.

After my mom passed I raised money for the Amyloidosis Foundation to help find a cure and new treatments for this horrible disease. I also donated all of my mom’s wigs to other patients going through similar situations where they lost their hair due to treatments. It was an amazing feeling knowing you’re making someone’s life more positive that’s fighting such a tough battle to survive.
