Actress Katherine Bailess Is Back With “Hit the Floor”!

Katherine Bailess has brought back the heat returning to her lead role as the sexy, funny, comedic seductive and Southern spitfire ‘Kyle Hart’, on the TV Series “Hit the Floor” which returned after a two-year hiatus for a highly-anticipated season 4 on July 10th on BET.

While she prepares to take on this fantastic role, Women Fitness’ President Namita Nayyar caught up with her to bring to you some inside talk with Katherine Bailess. 

NN:

Your everyday morning beauty ritual?

KB:

But first coffee! Lol Then the beauty rituals can begin. I always wash my face, tone with Witch hazel, depending on the day I will use Origins No Puffery under my eyes (keep in fridge) or eye/face mask and then follow up with a Vitamin C serum and ALWAYS Sunscreen moisturizer. Last but not least, because I am a Southern Belle…. Makeup Time!

NN:

Tell us about ‘Kyle Hart’, your on-screen role on the TV Series “Hit the Floor”.

KB:

I like to call her “Southern Fried Sex on Legs”. She is a stripper turned Los Angeles Devil Girl Dancer. She is willing to do ANYTHING to get ahead in life and uses her Southern Sass to get whatever she wants.

NN:

Your favorite Role, choose from Erica Marsh in “One Tree Hill”, Stephanie on “Gilmore Girls”, and Kyle Hart on the BET’s series “Hit the Floor”?

KB:

I’d have to say that Kyle from ‘Hit The Floor’ is my fav. She has actually helped me come out of my shell.

NN:

Being an actress, singer and dancer, which role defines you the best?

KB:

I would say that it’s a tie between the acting and dancing. I have been dancing longer than acting so it has been in my blood for a long time. The acting is more ME now. With every character that I play, I learn something new about myself.

NN:

What works better for you Cardio or Strength Training?

KB:

Cardio for sure! But I have to add in Pilates as well to stay toned.

NN:

What does your ideal workout look like?

KB:

My ideal workout would be half cardio and half toning. I would prefer the cardio to be dance.

NN:

Food preferences before and after a workout?

KB:

My “go-to” would be either egg whites or a banana with almond butter.

NN:

Do you stretch before and/or after a workout or both? And how does that help?

KB:

I only stretch a little before a run but I have to stretch A LOT before I dance. It also helps tremendously to take a hot Epsom salt bath after a hard workout and then stretch after when your muscles are warm and relaxed.

NN:

Your most favorite meal of the day? What does it include?

KB:

My favorite meal is breakfast. I’m one of those people who likes breakfast for supper.

NN:

One cheat meal you cannot resist?

KB:

My cheat meal would have to be chicken tenders and sweet potato fries.

NN:

Have you ever followed a diet like keto, paleo, detox, etc.? How did that go?

KB:

I have never really followed any diet. I will usually just cut back on dairy and carbs. Everything in moderation.

NN:

How do you relieve stress or relax?

KB:

To relieve stress, I will go take Pilates/Yoga class or get a massage.

NN:

Top 5 favorite holiday destinations for 2018 would be?

KB:

My top 5 would be… Hawaii, Sandestin, Florida, New York, Paris, and London.

NN:

Favorite skincare rituals & products that you swear by?

KB:

I love the Clarisonic Brush to cleanse my face, followed by Dickinson’s Witch Hazel to keep my pores tight. I have literally been using this witch hazel since I was 14 years old. My go to under eye patches have been the 24k gold Peter Thomas Roth Hydra Gel Eye Patches.

NN:

5 things you never leave your house without?

KB:

I never leave my house without my cellphone, sunglasses, purse, sunscreen, and lipstick.

NN:

Your favorite picks for the summer season?

KB:

Sundresses, cutoff shorts, and wedges.

NN:

Your haircare routine?

KB:

I like to use an overnight deep conditioner once a week. And I like ‘It’s a 10’ leave in conditioner before blow-drying.

NN:

Your future upcoming projects you’d like to share about?

KB:

I just had a Lifetime movie ‘Deadly Matrimony’. I’m super excited for 4th Season of ‘Hit the Floor’ that is out now.

NN:
