Khatuna Lorig exceptionally talented and accomplished Archer. Won Silver at 2013 Archery World Championships for the Mixed team and winner of gold at Easton Foundation Gator Cup. Selected by Glamour Magazine as one of the “7 Female 2012 Summer Olympians Who blow Our Minds” is in conversation with Namita Nayyar President Women Fitness

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You must have started as an Archer at a young age so as you won by the age of 18 years individual bronze and team gold medals at the 1990 European Championships in Barcelona. You reached the pinnacle of success winning numerable medals and presently ranked No.1 women Archer in US. What factors you consider were responsible that made you achieve such success ?

Ms. Khatuna Lorig:

I try to stay positive and have a huge supportive family. I am determined to achieve my goal of Olympic gold and that dream keeps me motivated and training hard all the time.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You moved from Georgia to US. For a player adjusting to new countries with their own cultures it must be difficult and then to adjust your playing habits and style, what advice you can give to fellow sports person in a similar situation?

Ms. Khatuna Lorig:

I lived in a very poor country and the archery program had been canceled as we were in the middle of a civil war. When you are a mom thinking of the future of your child you are willing to learn and adjust to most anything if that means a better life for your child. This is a great country and we can reach any goal faster here than most any other country. As for advice, learn English (I learned a word a day when I first got here). Respect the diverse cultures and religions in America and the best pizza is at Delfinos in Pathogue New York.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?

Ms. Khatuna Lorig:

Upper body workouts. Dumb bells and free weight with low weight and many repetitions

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Khatuna Lorig:

I eat right. I try not to eat after 6pm. But I won’t deny myself a cheeseburger or donought once in a while.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Khatuna Lorig:

Thank you. I was lucky to be born with great skin and hair. I thank my parents and clean living and lots of sleep.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding Archer girls who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of archery ?

Ms. Khatuna Lorig:

Archery is great for all kids to build not only skills but confidence, goal setting and concentration. For the girls specifically, I would tell them they can be as good as they want to be. For success they only need to set a goal and never let anyone tell them they cannot do it. When told I could not do something I always say “just watch me ” 🙂

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

How did you feel before and after winning Gold at World Cup Final 2010 Edinburgh for the Mixed Team?

Ms. Khatuna Lorig:

I did not shoot the finals at Edinburgh.
