International Model Larissa Bartolo Shares Her Fitness Stories!

Today we have with us International Model Larissa Bartolo sharing with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness her fantastic journey in the modelling industry.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You began modelling at the ripe age of seventeen and your love for the industry saw you being published in many magazines Australia wide with your big break in 2014 when you were given the opportunity to shoot for Playboy. Walk us through your incredible modelling journey so far.

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

Wow well where to begin, it has been an amazing journey thus far. It all started when I was quite little, I saw a gorgeous model on the beach doing a photo shoot & in that moment I turned to my mum and said “when I grow up, that’s what I want to do” A little did I know that all these years later I’d be able to stand here and say that I accomplished that! I think the real turning point for my career when It became quite serious was after the playboy shoot. I found myself being contacted by so many companies & it very quickly became a full time job for me. After the craziness calmed down a little, I decided to make my way to the UK and I got my 2 year visa, packed my life into 3 suitcases and off I went.

England is actually now up there in my top 10 countries to visit because of that trip! Fast forward to 2017 and here I am not only focusing on my modelling work, but being able to focus quite heavily on my fitness and health, this has been a true motivator for me. Having people ask me about my routines and genuinely taking an interest into my life has really helped me choose the directions in which I think I’ll be headed.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life.

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

A day in my life starts out bright and early at around 6.00am. As soon as I wake up I cut a grapefruit in half and get straight into it. Grapefruits are an amazing metabolism booster so its a perfect breakfast for me when I am on the go.

I usually do a little bit of cardio in the mornings too whether it be swimming in the summer time, or a 30 minute jog around the streets, just to get that blood boiling. I’ll then come home, shower and get ready for the day ahead! Now depending on what day of the week it is, I usually go and pick up my parcels with all my goodies inside (I am a little bit of a shopping addict at times haha). And head straight to my photoshoots, or whatever gigs I have booked that day.

My shoots at times go for around 8 hours, so I generally head straight to the gym when I’m done. My fav day of the week for training has got to be Wednesday, in true humpday style I like to train legs and booty on that day! After about an hour at the gym I head home, eat my dinner, complete my beauty regimes and off to bed. I try and get through all my emails of an evening too. So it can be quite busy sometimes, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

Anything and everything!! I am huge on being able to train outdoors and like to fill my weekends with adrenaline pumping activities, whether it be hiking or free diving! I have also recently started doing some training from home too, which has been quite challenging not having all the equipment from a gym, but I am very quickly learning just how beneficial it can be for those days when I just can’t get myself to a gym!!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

Haha not really! I believe if it comes out of a packet, then don’t eat it! But that being said we all have our weaknesses don’t we! I think its about eating in moderation, and controlling what things we put in our mouths. If you write down your complete diet, every day for one week, it will be quite apparent the things you need to change.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your haircare and skincare routine.

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

Thank you very much! I only use 100% natural products on my skin, I actually have a few little secrets which I will gladly share with you all. Castor oil is an amazing product for hair growth- I do treatments once a week. Aloe Vera is something I use daily and is really the key to keeping my skin hydrated and clear. Of an evening I use extra virgin olive oil as a moisturizer!! But there’s no miracle product out there, its all about being healthy on the inside & it will show on the outside.

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding models who all are your fans, they shall like to know from you, what they should do for their climb to ladder of success in field of modelling?

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

You are your best motivator. I am a firm believer of writing down my goals. I keep a little jar in my room and once a goal is complete it goes in the jar. I filled a jar in less than a year! That’s very motivating for me and keeps me on my toes. I think another important piece of advice is: never compare yourself to anyone you see on social media. I think we have all had days where we want one models stomach, and another’s legs haha but doing that is only going to bring down your self esteem. Look in the mirror and love what you see, that’s the first step to success.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Being such a huge social media influencer, would you like to enlighten us about the multi-fold benefits it has brought to you?

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

The biggest and most rewarding benefit it has brought me would have to be the feedback I get from my followers, Its one thing to post a cool photo online, but to see the sincerity from a person who has benefit from your advice is an amazing feeling to have. And of course the free goodies occasionally don’t go astray haha

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Tell us the Top 5 Tips to be a Social Media Star.

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

1- Be consistent
2- Believe in yourself
3- Never compare yourself to others
4- Use your fav models as inspiration for what you want to achieve
5- Write down your goals.

I think that anyone can do it these days, social media is actually an amazing tool, be persistent and you’ll get there!

Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success in the field of modelling?

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

Myself for sure! Sometimes I will sit down for hours on end looking at inspirational photos of other models that I’ve seen just so I can prepare for my next shoots. Its a tough world out there in this industry, there’s a lot of rejection. But you have to keep your head held high and just push through it all. I think that is SO important. And of course my family is super supportive and they motivate me every day to continue doing what I love.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have done many photo shoots and shown your spectacular chiseled physique. What advice do you wish to give to the women of today to be body confident in order to do such modelling?

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

I think recently an amazing thing happened. The world has stopped and started to appreciate a woman’s body, no matter what size or shape it is…. and its about time!!! Gone are the days of unrealistic body goals, I think that right now is the time to show off your curves, LOVE your lines, and bumps and freckles… No-one is perfect and its these little imperfections that really make us who we are! At the end of the day, maintaining a healthy body is VERY important, but not every person’s healthy looks the same. Speak with a professional about your goals & put those phones down, stop looking at social media, get out there, get some sunshine, run around outside or ride a bike.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With an audience of over 124k followers on your Instagram account @larissabartolo you’re a social media sensation and an internet leading star. How does it feel that you are able to influence the healthy lifestyle of so many individuals?

Ms. Larissa Bartolo:

It is an amazing honour to be able to have that kind of influence, I actually don’t even realise it sometimes. But I am human, and I want to be able to show my followers that behind the photoshoots, make up and photoshop, is a real person, with real issues too! I love to be able to guide the younger generations to put down their phones & get outside in the sunshine and exercise, the world is such a beautiful place!

I am actually thinking about putting up some photos of my daily meals on Facebook for everyone to see exactly what I personally do each day, If i can help one person, then my job is done!
