Take Me Out Series 9 Contestant Leanne Rees Shares Her Wonderful Journey

Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness catches up with Leanne Rees on TV, fitness and motivational tips.
Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Walk us through your TV Star Journey.

Ms. Leanne Rees:

So it basically all started after a break up and my friends applying for Take Me Out to cheer me up… literally 11 months later and I’m filming the show with Paddy McGuinness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life.

Ms. Leanne Rees:

My day usually starts at 5am with a large coffee, I then set off work and battle the lovely Manchester traffic. Once I’m in work I plan my day and have some breakfast which is usually a piece of toast or Rice Krispies with soya milk. My lunch is usually around 12 and I love getting out of work and going for a walk around the local shops, I tend to have a big lunch thats a Jacket Potato with chicken or salmon as I never get chance to have dinner in the evening in the week. I always think it’s healthy to get out of work in that time so you have a refreshed mind. I then get back to work and finish around 6pm. I’ll pick my little boy up and we will have a catch up on our days, check over homework and then get ready for bed. We always watch a film of his choice unless midweek football is on and I allow him to watch the first half. With me getting up so early we both then go to bed at the same time. Although I do love a late night tv binge now and then.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?

Ms. Leanne Rees:

My job is very active so I’m on the go all the time. As many women know after having a child it’s so hard to lose the tummy weight so I always try and do 50 sit ups before bed.

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Leanne Rees:

I always go with the concept of eating what I want when I want. When I follow any kind of diet I always find it doesn’t work for me. I also have a fast metabolism so that also allows me to eat anything I like.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your haircare and skincare routine.

Ms. Leanne Rees:

I’m obsessed with my hair so I always do weekly conditioning treatments. I actually always have extensions in so you do have to be more conscious of looking after them. For my skincare I never use soap, it’s always Dermalogica skincare products to wash my face with or moisturise.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Tell us about your current Top 5 Favorite Fashion Must-Haves.

Ms. Leanne Rees:

At the minute I’m obsessed with my Chanel Sunglasses, they hide any bags on tired days.

My Lois Vuitton Neverfull handbag, it literally holds everything!

YSL lipstick, they are so moisturising and the nudes are the best shade for me.

Nude YSL heels, perfect to go with nearly everything.

Dermalogica day moisturiser, my skin gets so dry so it’s nice to freshen up and put some on.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success in this field?

Ms. Leanne Rees:

I don’t have a specific person that comes to mind but I look at all successful women in this field and feel they all help to motivate me and have an influence. Although on down days I do look at Adriana Lima’s body and that usually gives me the inspiration to put the chocolate down and work out.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You currently appear on the Take Me Out Series 9. Tell us about your experience doing the show?

Ms. Leanne Rees:

It was amazing!! They treated us all really well, in hair, make up and wardrobe everyday. They put us in a lovely hotel and made sure we were happy. I love the different looks they gave me on the show and made me feel confident. I’ve also made so many friends for life from doing the show too.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Share with us your future plans regarding shows or movies, after the show.

Ms. Leanne Rees:

I’m not too sure what the future holds for me but hopefully it’s going to be one where you’ll be seeing me again on your tv soon.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Was take me out your first TV appearance?

Ms. Leanne Rees:

I was an extra on a British airways advert when I was 16 but Take Me Out was my first real appearance on tv as you didn’t even see me on the British Airways advert.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Looking through your twitter you’ve mentioned that you want to present soccer am, can I ask why?

Ms. Leanne Rees:

I absolutely love football, I used to play for a ladies team but I gave it up when my son got old enough to play and now I dedicate my weekends to watching him play. I also grew up sitting with my dad and watching soccer am every Saturday morning. I love all the banter in it.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

What do you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for our readers?

Ms. Leanne Rees:

It’s really inspirational and I love all the hints and tips you have. My message for your visitors would be to stick to your goals, we all have things we love and dislike about fitness and healthy eating but find that happy-medium as there is a happy-medium out there.
