Lindsay Arnold is an all-American girl who was born and raised on the stage in Provo, Utah. She began dancing at the age of four and has not stopped dancing since. She is the youngest pro +dancer on Dancing With The Stars at age 19. She trained extensively in Utah with some of the country’s best teachers, including Shirley Ballas and Mark Ballas, a Dancing With The Stars veteran dancer. In fact, she represented Team Ballas in a Ballroom Battle a few seasons ago.

Lindsay is incredibly versatile, but her area of expertise is Latin dance. She was one of the finalists on the last season of So You Think You Can Dance” and she received constant praise from the judges about her versatility as a dancer and her endless star quality. She then continued to perform in the 30-city tour, in theaters all across the nation. She was partnered on her first season of Dancing With The Stars with boxer, Victor Ortiz.

Her numerous awards include placing 1st place in both the United States Open Youth Latin Championships and the United States Open Junior Latin Championships, being a top 3 finalist at the World Junior Latin Team Match, a top 5 finalist at the World Cup Latin Junior Championships and a top 5 finalist at the United States Junior National 10 dance Championships.

Lindsay Arnold is an American professional dancer. She was the finalist in reality television series ‘Dancing with the Stars’ and ‘So You Think You Can Dance. Catch up with her in conversation with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You started at a very young age of four years by taking dancing lessons and reached the pinnacle of success by being youngest professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars at age of 19 years. What factors do you consider were responsible that made you achieve that?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: There have been many factors that have gotten me to the point where I am today. I feel that the two most important factors have been a lot of dedicated hard work and determination. My journey to where I am today has not always been easy and at times I didn’t think it was going to be possible but that’s where I really had to be determined that I would not give up.

No matter what happened and no matter how many failures I had, I would not give up. This mindset didn’t only apply to dancing and my career but it applied to everything in my life. When I was in high school I would go to school for seven hours a day then go straight to dance practice for five more hours after that every day. I really had to be focused and work hard in order to maintain my schoolwork and keep up with my dance training. I couldn’t go hang out with my friends every night or do all the fun activities they did because I had to learn how to prioritize my life. Having to learn this at a young age has really helped me in my career.

When I became a professional on Dancing With the Stars I had already learned so much about hard work and prioritizing that it made the job that much easier. It’s always important in life to work hard, no matter what you are doing even if you think it’s a small thing, always do your best! Always strive to work harder than you think you can and you will surprise yourself with how much you can accomplish.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: Aside from dancing being my main workout, I really love doing Pilates. Pilates has helped me so much in my career by strengthening and lengthening my muscles, giving me greater flexibility, and also preventing injury. I would suggest Pilates to everyone because it truly has helped me so much.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: I personally do not believe in dieting. I believe that it is very important to eat healthy food and to eat in moderation. What I have found works for me is to find healthy snacks that taste good and I eat them in between my meals. When it comes to meals, I eat what sounds tasty to me but in a reasonable portion. Another thing that has really helped me is to try to not eat any carbs after 8 pm. This doesn’t mean I starve myself if I’m hungry at night (which happens a lot) it just means I will try to find something that is a little healthier.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous hairs. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hairs to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: As a dancer on Dancing With the Stars, it is very important to take good care of my skin and my hair. Every week for the live show my face is getting completely made up with a lot of product and curling irons are frying my hair. What I have found works best for me to maintain healthy skin and hair is to let them have a break from make up and hot tools every once and a while.

I don’t wear make up during the week unless I have some sort of event and I have noticed the difference. I also don’t use hot tools on my hair unless I have to because our hair needs a break too. Don’t be afraid to go a day without make up on and without your hair done, show off your natural beauty!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding professional dance girls who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to ladder of success in the field professional dancing?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: Do not ever give up!! I know that sounds so cliche but it is more true than I can even express. No one has had an easy road to success and no one has always succeeded in everything they do.

Don’t get discouraged by your shortcomings, but let them give you the drive you need to improve yourself. I am a firm believer that if you work hard and strive to be the best that you can be you can accomplish anything. Surround yourself with people who will lift you up and support you and remember that you are in control of your future and that you can be whatever you choose.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: How did you feel before and after your memorable win at the United States Open Youth Latin Championships?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: When I was a competitor I always loved the preparation leading up to a competition. This specific competition for me was one of the most important ones I had ever done and a lot of hard work went into training for it. Before the competition I was very determined to train hard and to always improve every day. When I ended up winning, I had realized how grateful I was that I had worked so hard. This was a moment in my life when I realized that hard work truly pays off.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have done bold photo shoots, how you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: I think that everyone should be confident in themselves. We all have special things that are unique to us that no one else has. As humans, it is hard not to compare ourselves to others but I would say the biggest thing is to try and remember that we are all special. We all have that one thing that makes us who we are, don’t forget that there is no one else like you. One of my favorite quotes is, “Be YOU, everyone else is already taken.”

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Who has been your inspiration and motivation in choosing dancing as your profession ?

Ms. Lindsay Arnold: There has been a lot of people in my life who have inspired me to set new goals and to exceed new limits. When I was younger I remember watching all the dancers on Dancing With the Stars and So You Think You Can Dance and dreaming of being able to do what they were doing. As the years went by I truly pushed myself towards that dream that I had, always thinking that it could never happen.

I worked very hard to become the best dancer I could be and when auditions for So You Think You Can Dance came to my hometown I auditioned and made it! It truly was so amazing for me to be able to look back at all those years of dreaming and working hard and realized that I had achieved one of my goals. After So You Think You Can Dance, I made it as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars and now have the amazing opportunity to dance alongside amazing people and dancers who truly inspire me everyday.
