Presenter and television personality Lucy Clarkson has been in the entertainment industry for over 20 years. Her past work includes being the official Lara Croft model for the iconic Tomb Raider video game series. She had a long and successful modeling career prior to launching her career in television and presenting. The prestigious Elite Model Agency signed her and she landed her first modeling job at 15 after she won a competition out of 16,000 applicants. As a sixteen-year-old, she became the face of ‘More’, a British fashion magazine. Lucy has appeared on the covers of Sports Illustrated, FHM, and Marie Claire, as well as in advertising campaigns for many big brands, including Vivienne Westwood, Chanel, PlayStation, La Senza, Diesel, Favela Brazilian swimwear, Marks and Spencer, Sandals Resorts, Wrigleys, Kinders, Veet, De Beers, and Pearl Drops. A keen vocalist, she also released a dance single with multi Grammy-nominated rapper Fat Joe.

In February 2023, Lucy hosts and stars in the brand-new Netflix show, Gunther’s Millions, which airs in 195 countries and 32 languages.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up Lucy Clarkson, an exceptionally talented, rated as Sexiest Woman in the World, actress and model. Here she talks about her diet, workout and, her success story.

Namita Nayyar:

Your career has been long and varied. The past 23 years have seen you appear on magazine covers such as Marie Claire, host several television shows, appear on reality shows in the US and Asia, release a song with the Grammy Award-nominated rapper Fat Joe, and be the official Lara Croft model for Tomb Raider. Which of your career achievements stands out the most to you?

Lucy Clarkson:

The most memorable moment of my career was when I was chosen to portray the real life Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider computer game series. In the blink of an eye, my life changed at just 17 when I was given this iconic role to fill.

Namita Nayyar:

You host and star in the brand-new Netflix show ‘Gunther’s Millions’ in February 2023. What does it entail?

Lucy Clarkson:

The documentary series revolves around Gunther, the richest dog in the world. Gunther has an interesting history behind his story that makes him very unique. I was Gunther’s head of PR a few years ago. Having a dog as a boss was quite an experience! Due to my experience in television, the series’ director thought it would be ideal for me to also assist in telling the story on camera. Having the show air on Netflix is a huge accomplishment, and I’m honored to be a part of it.

Namita Nayyar:

Is there anything in your career that you regret?

Lucy Clarkson:

Spending too much time dating and not taking advantage of all the opportunities I had is something I regret. In the past, I attracted controlling men, so I was always restricted by them. Should you be presented with opportunities that interest you, be sure to take them!

Namita Nayyar:

Do you recommend cosmetic surgery, fillers, or Botox to those considering altering their appearance?

Lucy Clarkson:

I’m not against it at all. As long as you go to a reputable surgeon/aesthetician, and keep it looking natural, it’s all about enhancing what you already have.

Namita Nayyar:

Can you share your top three beauty tips with us?

Lucy Clarkson:

In my opinion, it’s all about balance. I like to eat healthy and exercise regularly, but I also get lazy sometimes, forget to remove my makeup before bed, and pig out on junk food while watching movies. No one is perfect!

The number one beauty tip I recommend is to stay hydrated, drink plenty of water. Secondly, I would recommend retinol cream because retinol increases the production of skin cells and helps you to look young and fresh. The third thing is you should avoid wearing too much makeup. This is because, as we get older, we tend to think we need more makeup, but I believe it actually ages us.

Unfortunately, social media filters lead to a false perception of how we should look. It makes everyone look cloned. I used to do it too, but then my mom said ‘you have to stop using filters, it doesn’t look like you’. She thinks I’m prettier without them, and that’s the case for most other women.

Namita Nayyar:

In the event that you were stuck on an island for the rest of your life, what beauty product would you choose, and why?

Lucy Clarkson:

It would be impossible for me to live without concealer. Fortunately, I have never suffered from acne, but I love to use concealer under my eyes for that fresh-eyed look. Although I have tried many different concealers from expensive to more affordable brands, my favorite is Chanel’s SUBLIMAGE LE CORRECTEUR YEUX. Light and hydrating, it melts into your skin.

Namita Nayyar:

What do you love most about your body?

Lucy Clarkson:

My butt is my favorite part of my body. Tall women seldom have a shapely butt, especially if it’s natural. The shape of my butt makes me look and feel sexy and feminine.

Namita Nayyar:

What is your workout routine?

Lucy Clarkson:

For 40 minutes, I use a treadmill and walk at a fast pace on an incline. While I sometimes run, I prefer walking because it tones my body and is easier on my back. In addition to doing a lot of ab exercises with the medicine ball, I also do a lot of lunges, squats, and lift light weights. I do all of those things five days a week, plus I walk a lot. I always walk instead of driving if I can.

Namita Nayyar:

How do you stay healthy? Do you follow a special diet?

Lucy Clarkson:

Since I don’t have a sweet tooth, I don’t crave sweet things. I’m lucky because since I was a child, I have chosen vegetables and fruit over fatty foods every time. My daily eating window is 8 hours as I fast a lot. Whenever I return to England, meat pie with gravy is my weakness when it comes to food.

Namita Nayyar:

What makes you feel confident?

Lucy Clarkson:

Feeling comfortable in my own skin. It has taken me a long time to be able to love myself. Since turning 40, I have learned to accept my flaws and insecurities and turn them into beauty and empowerment.

Namita Nayyar:

Are there any insecurities you have? If so, how do you deal with them?

Lucy Clarkson:

At a young age, I was insecure about my height because I looked older than everyone else at school and most of the boys were shorter than me. As a tall person, you stand out even more, which can sometimes cause you to feel self-conscious and paranoid. I have now embraced being tall and love it. I feel it’s a blessing and an advantage, especially when I’m in the supermarket and need to get something from the top shelf, haha.

Namita Nayyar:

How do you feel about people leaving negative comments on social media about the looks of other people?

Lucy Clarkson:

This is infuriating for me. I hate bullying in any form, especially when it’s public. Social media has provided a platform for people to be seen and heard. Unfortunately, that also allows people to hate on others, and they don’t realize how hurtful and damaging that can be.

Namita Nayyar:

What was the most challenging thing you have faced in your personal life, and what did it teach you?

Lucy Clarkson:

The most challenging part of my life has been having a child and becoming a single mother. Co- parenting can also be challenging. As a result, I have learned how to be patient, but most importantly how to not react to negativity.

Namita Nayyar:

Who is your style icon?

Lucy Clarkson:

Vivienne Westwood. Her designs were incredible. As a model, I had the pleasure of working with her many times. As a 15-year-old, I was her muse and I worshipped her. As fashion’s queen, she reigned supreme. She loved my hourglass figure combined with my height, and she really appreciated that. My first runway show was for her when I was 16 years old, wearing 10 inch heels. It was the experience of a lifetime, for sure.

Namita Nayyar:

Top fashion tips for women on a budget?

Lucy Clarkson:

Thrift shops are amazing; you can find fantastic pieces for next to nothing, and you’re donating to charity at the same time. I am also a big fan of accessorizing. If you use different accessories, you can wear the same thing over and over again while making it look different each time.

Namita Nayyar:

Can you recall one of the most flattering compliments you’ve ever received?

Lucy Clarkson:

It was the time when I gave a makeup tutorial at a school in Florida and the audience said I was the nicest person they’d ever met. A person also commented that the beauty of my face pales in comparison to my energy and heart. That was a wonderful compliment to receive.

Namita Nayyar:

Who was your role model growing up, and why?

Lucy Clarkson:

Being honest, I never had a role model growing up. There was never a time when I hung posters on my walls or aspired to be like someone in particular. Having grown up in a small town in South Yorkshire, England, all I wanted was to ride horses and be a country girl. My mum entered me into one of the world’s biggest model competitions though, which catapulted me onto another life and path.

Namita Nayyar:

What is the most valuable piece of life advice you have ever received?

Lucy Clarkson:

Stay away from men!!!!

Namita Nayyar:

What are your goals for the rest of 2023?

Lucy Clarkson:

I will continue to strive to be the best version of myself I can be. I’d like to travel more and visit places I’ve always wanted to see. My main goal is to push myself in my TV hosting career. I’m passionate about it and believe I have a real talent for it.
