Namita Nayyar:

You were born in Malmö, Sweden into an Albanian family. You were scouted at an early age to be a model. Later this propelled your modeling career to the height where you have been at the top of the world of fashion and glamour modeling. Tell us more about this fairy tale journey?

Missé Beqiri:

I lived and got my first big contract in Copenhagen, which is 25 min from my hometown in South of Sweden Malmo. I did covers for a few amazing Danish fashion magazines, and it made me want to explore the world so I moved to South Africa (Cape Town) – it was my first big step away from home. It was so much fun! I then moved to Milan and was flying in and out of New York and London for fashion week and modeling jobs. I really fell in love with London and England in general, and that’s where I started my television journey. It’s been an incredible and crazy journey so far. I’ve loved every minute of it!

Namita Nayyar:

You move from Sweden to the United States and Europe for your professional career. For a model adjusting to new countries with their own cultures, it must be difficult and then to adjust with modeling career in the new foreign land, what advice you can give to fellow models in a similar situation?

Missé Beqiri:

My advice would be, don’t be afraid to experience and learn from new cultures. We’re so lucky to be able to travel so much with our work, so once you’re done on set, enjoy the moment you’re in and experience the culture and the country you’re in fully. It’s such a big part of your journey. Don’t sit in your hotel room and wait for your next flight – get up and out and start exploring! You grow so much more as a person and as a model because you have so much more to share with more experience and stories of your work.

Namita Nayyar:

You are a world-leading media personality, model, actress, reality television star, and brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Missé Beqiri:

I always stay true to myself – my kids help to keep me grounded, haha! I’m a mom, model, and creative director for my own brand Prevu – it’s a lot to juggle sometimes, but I love everything I do so it makes it easier. I feel I’m really passionate about everything I do and that helps. Recently, I launched collaboration with Misspap and that really pushed me – I was juggling being a mum, modeling jobs, being creative director at Prevu, and also making the Misspap collaboration a success! It showed me that I can do it all!

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Missé Beqiri:

I only do Pilates and use body weights. I truly believe in that for me and it works for my body. Everyone has different body shapes and you learn to understand your own body and what works best for you. I work out every day. I have a Pilates teacher who helps me, but when she’s not around, I just hop onto YouTube to find a workout – there are so many good classes to follow on there!

Namita Nayyar:

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Missé Beqiri:

I eat quite healthy generally; you have to with two kids. We eat lots of fruit, vegetables, meats, and carbs – all very balanced. Of course, lots of water and fresh juices. We’re good like that – treats like chocolates, biscuits, fizzy drinks are exactly that, ’treats’ – we don’t have them often!

Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.

Missé Beqiri:

I really love looking after my skin. I clean my face morning and night – I never go to bed with makeup on. I use a great cleanser, toner, serum (I love the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair right now) and moisturizer. In the day, I always end with factor 50 in both summer and winter. I use retinoid when I feel my skin needs it, and I also use spot treatment when I need it.
I exfoliate my skin twice a week, using Obagi products (I love Obagi).

Namita Nayyar:

You have been a cast member of The Real Housewives of Cheshire. Tell us more about your experience on working on this show.

Missé Beqiri:

It was so fun! I don’t regret one minute of it – it was full of laughter, lots of lessons, and I made some great friends on the show. It’s a big part of my life – and I think it made me realize that I’m happy to keep some parts of my life more private as I get older and my family expands 🙂

Namita Nayyar:

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fashion model girls, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of modeling?

Missé Beqiri:

Always be yourself! Believe that you can go as far as you want. Study and educate yourself while you do your modeling work. Education is more important than anything – when you’re educated the whole world is yours and you’ll be prepared to deal with anything that life throws at you.

It’s also so helpful to have a team who truly believe in you and want to see you succeed – surround yourself with good energy and people who motivate you to do better! It really does make a difference!

Namita Nayyar:

You have launched the womenswear line for “PRÉVU” the prevustudio, a leading clothing brand. Elaborate more about this endeavor of yours?

Missé Beqiri:

Jake, my fiancé, owns the men’s brand, and I always had a very big passion for clothing. Working in the fashion industry I learned to understand what women like and what’s not really available to shop. It’s always been a dream of mine to actually start my own line.

So Jake asked me to start working on the womenswear line, and I did. And it’s gone from strength to strength. We are now selling globally and we are now stocked in Selfridges, one of the biggest department stores in the UK. I’m very proud of it. Our customers have really gotten behind it, and they seem to want to see it be a huge success – so grateful for all the support so far, and lots more to come!

Namita Nayyar:

You have done bold photo shoots with top-tier fashion magazines and international brand campaigns. How you are so body confident and advice to your compatriots?

Missé Beqiri:

I actually used to be very skinny and got bullied in school for my skinny legs and thin arms – it wasn’t purposeful, it was just my genetics. I physically couldn’t put weight on. I then got scouted as a model, and started to do really well. In every job I gained more and more confidence. The people that used to bully me now follow me on social media – it’s funny how the world works. After I had my first baby, I actually loved my body even more.

I wasn’t super skinny and I loved my shape and being a mom who still worked. I have two kids now, so I do need to look after myself more and work out as I’m getting older, but I love my shape – I don’t feel any pressure to look any way or fit into any specific sizing. My body helps me to look after my babies, and work, so if it can do that, I’m happy!
