Here she talks about her fitness, diet and beauty regimen with Namita Nayyar, President Women Fitness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

You are a spectacular fashion model. Tell us about your incredible journey in the modelling world and how it all began?

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

I always looked up to models as a child, constantly watching America’s Next Top Model, and shows alike. I always told myself eventually that would be me, I would make it as a model. I was however extremely shy, so it wasn’t until I was 19 that I signed with my first agency, once I finally had the confidence. Once that happened, I flew to Chicago, and then later to Athens, Greece, and Seoul, South Korea to model for months at a time. Once I got back to the US, I continued modeling and starting working on camera as well.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

Introduce us to a day in the life of “Ashley Nash”?

Ms. Ashley Nash:

A day in my life really depends on what’s happening work wise. If it’s a busy day of castings, I spend most of my day running around different parts of the city meeting with clients and auditioning for different things. If I’m lucky enough to have a day off, I usually get all my errands done, and always make sure to exercise.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

You are a world leading media personality, fashion model and a Style Icon. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Ms. Ashley Nash:

That is so sweet, thank you! I’m the kind of person who loves to be busy. I love having my day filled with things to do, I really enjoy it. When I have nothing to do during the day I get stir crazy and anxious and feel like I HAVE to do something. So, it’s really easy for me to be busy and multi-task, I love it!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine?

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

I love gyms, but a lot of times, if the weather allows I’d much prefer to work out outside somehow. I got into long distance running about 9 months ago, so I love to go on long runs in the morning or evening when the weather is still cool. Being a model, staying fit and lean is important as you can’t be too bulky, so I also love pilates. Pilates classes are great, but I have an Apple TV, so a lot of times I can look up pilates videos and do them for free at home, which is great! Also, California is covered in great hiking trails, so when I feel like switching it up a bit, I’ll go on a long hike to get in some more all around body workout.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

I don’t actually have a special or strict diet, I just try my best to eat really well 95% of the time. I don’t believe in restricting yourself from all the foods you love. I personally love bread and cheese, neither of which are very forgiving for your figure. But, that’s why exercise is so important..the more you work out, the more foods you can enjoy guilt free. I go back and forth from eating a lot of vegetarian meals, or incorporating chicken and fish. Salmon is my favorite, especially sushi, so I usually eat that about once a week, and try and get in as many veggies as I can stomach. I also make sure to take vitamins and supplements. I usually take a multi-vitamin, a probiotic, a vitamin C and turmeric pill as well with my breakfast. 

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

Thanks so much! I actually have very sensitive skin, so I have to be very picky about what products I use. I recently was turned onto Dermalogica and it has literally saved my skin. The pre-cleanse, microfoliant, and intense moisture balance moisturizer are amazing, and are wonderful if you have dry, sensitive, breakout prone skin like I do. For the cleanser I just use a gentle, all natural foaming cleanser. This routine really works for me and helps keep hormonal breakouts away! 🙂

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

You have to travel a lot for your professional career. What is the one best and the one worst thing about all the travelling that you do?

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

I love traveling! It’s so great to be able to go to different cities and countries, and having the opportunity to immerse yourself in that culture for however long you’ll be there. I’m actually quite scared of flying, so that would be the worst part for me. Turbulence is not my friend!

Share with us your Top 5 Must-do Exercises.

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

Hm, lets see. Top 5 exercises in addition to running and pilates would be probably lots of abs. Full, straight legged situps are AMAZING, and work all aspects of your abdomen. Bicycles and scissor kicks are also great for the sides of your stomach. The pilates 100 is great as well for a full on ab workout, and crunches are always a staple as well.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

Tell us about your Top 3 Fashion Absolute Must-Haves.

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

It’s funny, because although I am a model, I’m not really into shopping and fashion too much haha! I love being comfortable, but still feeling cute. So, top 3 fashion must haves for me would definitely be a good, soft t-shirt, a great pair of jeans, and a comfy sweatshirt of some kind.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

You have done many bold and beautiful photoshoots. Share with us a memorable experience that you may have had during a shoot?

Ms. Ashley Nash:  

Wow, that’s a tough one! I think all of my shoots are memorable in their own ways. They may be memorable because of the company I’m getting the opportunity to shoot with, or maybe I get to shoot with a photographer who’s work I’ve admired. Some shoots have been extremely long..I remember once being on a shoot for 19 hours in South Korea..That is probably one of the most memorable, just because of the insane amount of time we spent working on it!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding Muslim ladies, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in life?

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

Hmmm..I think something that I really try to do, and I think makes someone so much more successful is just to be a nice person. I feel like it’s so rare now a days, to meet or work with someone who’s just happy, positive, friendly, supportive, and that’s what I think really makes someone successful! We’re never perfect, but I try every day to be as nice and pleasant as I can be, so people enjoy being around me and want to work with me again. I would just say to always be the best person you can be, be kind, and compassionate, and I think you’ll have success in whatever endeavor you’re interested in! Also, optimism is so important. Try not to think of the negative things that may stand in your way, always have a positive outlook and you’re more than likely going to see a positive outcome :).

Ms. Ashley Nash: 

I think Women Fitness is great! I love how they have women from all walks of life, all body shapes, all backgrounds and careers featured on the site. From fitness professionals, to opera singers, it’s so inclusive, I think it reaches such a broad audience..So many different women can see themselves in these women featured on your site, and I think that’s wonderful! 🙂
