Pomegranate juice is key to increase sex drive: A study

– Reported, November 19, 2012

Men and women who drank a daily glass of pomegranate juice for two weeks in a study had a notable surge in testosterone, which increases libido in both sexes.

The red fruit has already been hailed as a super food, but now it can add sexual stimulant to its given benefits.

In men, testosterone puts hair on their face, gives them a deeper voice, and is responsible for making them randy.

It is also produced in female adrenal glands and makes them toey too. The hormone also strengthens women’s bones and muscles.

Other positive side effects of topped up testosterone levels are a sharper memory, and stress relief.

Pomegranate gets its super food title because studies have found it to be full of anti-oxidants to ward off heart disease, and it helps blood circulation. It can also alleviate the symptoms of osteoarthritis and cure stomach upsets.
The fruit’s latest sexual benefits were discovered by researches from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, who experimented on 58 people aged between 21 and 64.
The Edinburgh research measured testosterone levels, blood pressure and, using a scientific scale, levels of 11 emotions including fear, sadness, guilt, shyness and self-assurance.

Testosterone levels increased between 16 per cent and 30 per cent among the subjects, while blood pressure plummeted.

Positive emotions rose and negative feelings fell.
