The “Sugary Six Pack Girl” Niki Reveals Her Top 3 Fitness Secrets & More

Niki has a background as a runner, having run cross country and middle distance track from middle school through college where she competed at the Division 1 level. She now does more of HIIT interval training, yoga and mainly her Get Fit Guide! The Get Fit Guide helps to create a healthy, fitness oriented lifestyle to achieve your goals.

She is an ACE Certified personal trainer as well as Holistic Nutrition Coach. She has a degree in theater and a minor in art history. Going to Italy and seeing all the art and architecture is a dream of Niki.

Below are the excerpts from a candid conversation between the Sugary Six Pack Fitness Coach – Niki and Namita Nayyar, President – Women Fitness.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You started running at an early age in the 7th grade and competed in Division 1. After graduation you got into yoga, cross fit, weight lifting and HIIT and later took the ACE personal training certification. You reached the pinnacle of success by running a successful website called the Sugary Six Pack (www.sugarysixpack.com) and have been providing useful information to women on health and fitness. Tell us more about your journey that took you to the world of fitness?

Ms. Niki:
I’ve always loved being active. When I was younger my parents had us try everything so I’ve ice skated, played basketball, softball, danced and tried quite a few other things and in middle school I finally settled on running and stuck with it. After that ended I felt a little bit lost in my fitness life, I had never really had to decide what to do for workouts or make time in the day to train since it has always been a practice I had to show up for. One thing I knew for sure was that my main form of training was no longer going to be running! I loved using free weights and got in to cross fit for a while but once I discovered HIIT it was over for me, I had found what I needed. It’s so customizable and has so many benefits. After realizing that I was realy passionate about health and fitness I wanted to share it with others and help them to get excited about it too so I became a personal trainer. I use some form of HIIT training with almost all of my clients now! It keeps things interesting.


Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What is the story behind the unique and fascinating name “Sugary Six Pack”?

Ms. Niki:
I’ve always had a massive sweet tooth. I used to just crush desserts in the dining hall during college and candy was a food group for me when I was younger. The name was something to combine my love of fitness with my love of sweets only now I’m attempting to make sweets that are a little better for me and use ingredients that don’t leave me in a sugar crash..at least most of the time!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What is your motivation to take a multi-faceted personality of a personal trainer, fitness coach, fitness writer, nutritional expert and an online fitness blogger?

Ms. Niki:
I love sharing what I’m passionate about. It’s the best feeling in the world when someone tells you that your workouts or guide has made a positive impact on their life. I’m blessed to be able to do what I love while helping people and I can’t have any better motivation than that!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Elaborate about your “The Get Fit Guide” ?

Ms. Niki:
It’s a guide based on the way that I train! It’s a combination of bodyweight and dumbbell exercises that I’ve found to be the most effective for myself and when incorporating this type of training with my clients! It’s time effective and uses minimal equipment so if you have some dumbbells, a chair and 30 minutes you can get a killer workout in!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
Share your exercise routine that you follow to maintain such a perfect physique?

Ms. Niki:
It’s mainly my guide that I described above! It has lower body, upper body and total body days along with core work and some cardio thrown in! I do this and then of course any YouTube workouts I film!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What is your diet? Do you take a particular fixed regulated diet comprising of nutrients and vitamins to keep you in perfect health?

Ms. Niki:
I take vitamins and a greens powder supplement but other than that I just do my best to stick with real whole food as often as possible. So things like lean meat, fish, veggies, lots of fruit, nuts/seeds and some whole grains! I’m also big on balance and living a life that makes you happy so if I’m feeling Oreos or ice cream I’ll have that too! Just not consistently!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Niki:
I think my hair benefits a lot from the greens powder and vitamins! It definitely grows faster when I take them consistently! As far as my face goes, I’ve always been one of those people with breakouts so I just do my best to keep it clean and use things to nourish it. One of my favorite things is using coconut oil as eye makeup remover!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What according to you are the Top 3 Fitness Tips for women to start with a successful exercise program?

Ms. Niki:
1. Commit and make time for it. Being wishy washy and maybe doing something gives you an automatic out when you don’t feel like working out. If you’re gonna start, give it all you can! It also helps to get into a schedule and make time for the workout rather than just saying you’ll do it sometime later.

2. Remember that if you do miss a day or quit a workout mid way it’s not ruined. You can hop right back into it tomorrow and power through!

3. Find something that you like. Make it fun for yourself!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: We’ve heard you have a sweet tooth, tell us about your all-time favorite dessert?

Ms. Niki:
Anything chocolate! Ideally chocolate ice cream with sprinkles and a fudey brownie in it but If we’re going with the healthier alternative I love the Power Brownie Bites I make! They’re sweetened with dates and use nuts & seeds in them!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
You have thousands of followers of your blog the “Sugary Six Pack”. Tell us more about this endeavor of yours?

Ms. Niki:
It just started one day when I saw an account that posted workouts and I thought ‘I could do that, could be fun’. It grew so much more than I ever expected and being able to interact with so many people from all over the place has been an amazing experience! I really believe God had this path planned for me and I’m incredibly blessed to be able to do what I do!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: What pearls of wisdom can you give to the inspiring and budding fitness girls who all are your fans and would like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the fitness industry?

Ms. Niki:
Stay true to yourself. People want what only you can give them and we all have a unique gift to give! And be consistent!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:
What do you wish to say about the website Womenfitness.net and message for its visitors?

Ms. Niki:
I’d love to just let people know that they can do it. It’s possible for them to reach their fitness goals and live a life they love. I never could have imagined 3 years ago when I was feeling so lost and unsure of myself that I would be able to turn my passion into something that has an impact on so many people. Work for it, pray about it and get out there because you’ve got great things inside you!
