Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have selected a profession of TV correspondent and hosting shows that require a lot of hard labor, technical soundness about different sports and excellence in different faculties to finally succeed, how do you achieve that?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: I have still got a long long way to go but I have been fortunate to hop on the notoriously difficult and competitive ladder. The job is very stressful at times but I love interviewing and hosting shows so all the bad bits are quickly forgotten!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You started when you were 19 years of age, you became the youngest ever entertainment correspondent at one of the UK’s largest news organisations ITN. Your professional career propelled to the height where you have been leading the world of TV journalism and broadcasting and as a TV presenter and has been working between America and the UK for ITN, ITV2 and MTV. Tell us something about this fairy tale journey?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: My career so far has really been down to the people around me. I had an amazing producer called Lisa Snell at ITN whom I learnt so much from. She nurtured my skills by watching all my interviews and would give constructive feedback. It was often was not complimentary but I needed the harsh words because it made me improve and go on to do bigger things. perseverance despite setbacks has also been key to the last 4 years and being open to meeting new people. The best thing about my journey so far is the people I’ve met! From hippies in Texas, to movie stars, to meditative healers, to pop singers, people make the world interesting!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You posses a perfect physique. What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you shall like to share?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: I love love love yoga. I try and yoga 3 times a week or more if I have time. It’s great for the mind and for the body. I certainly don’t think I have a perfect physique but my trainer Russell of SBC has helped me get in shape by his awesome interval exercises.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: No! I wish I had the discipline to. I try and have a low carb diet where possible and fill my plate with vegetables and fruit. I enjoy eating healthy food but I do have a sweet tooth!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Do you take some kind of skin treatment to keep it young and glowing and secondly what you do to your hair to make them look so stunning?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: That’s kind of you to say but I have struggled with bad skin for years. Drinking lots of water helps but also a good moisturizer (I use Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Cream) and my hair is ALL down to my local hair salon Clo&Flo. I have about 3 blow-dries a week because for me, if my hair is ok, it’s one less thing you have to worry about!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Advice and motivational words for our inspiring and budding women TV journalists and broadcasters who all are your fans, what should they do for their climb to the ladder of success in TV journalism and presenter?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: Work hard, be persistent, be innovative and try and find a specialist area. It’s a saturated market so you have to think, how are you different!

Poppy Jamie on WomenFitness: This website is a great source of information for all health and fitness questions! I love reading the healthy tips of the day!

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Tell us about your experience of hosting on the red carpet at the MTV Movie Awards 2014?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: IT WAS A DREAM!!! SUCH SUCH SUCH FUN. The carpet was huge and I was interviewing for about an hour and a half… which is quite tiring, but the adrenalin keeps you going! Burberry dressed me so I felt like a princess too! Everyone was so friendly and I had a lovely catch up with Ellie Goulding and Rita Ora.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You graduated from the London School of Economics. How this educational background and grooming at the world leading educational institution been a catalyst in your success in your career as a TV presenter and show host?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: I don’t think university is that vital. It’s wonderful if you do go and learn how to study independently as the skills you gain are all transferable later on in life. For me, the LSE was great for giving me an educational on politics and general social issues that are crucial for us all to be aware of. I think this has helped my confidence and definitely helped my writing.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: Tell us about your experience of doing the cameo role in ITV2 “Lemon La Vida Loca” ?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: Keith Lemon /Leigh Francis is one of the most supportive and friendly guys I’ve met in the industry. After having this funny interview with him, he private messaged me on Twitter asking if I would consider going on his show (which was obviously a no-brainer!). Then four months later, I was on set and it was utterly hilarious, as you can imagine.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: You had interviewed famous celebrities to name a few like George Clooney, Tom Cruise, Nicki Minaj, Jude Law, Madonna, and Anna Wintour. Tell us a memorable moment which you wish to share about doing the interview with anyone them?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: Nicki Minaj was one of my favourite interviews. First off, it was SOOO Hollywood, we had to wait 4 hours in the W Hotel and finally she appeared, looking so glam and I had written a rap (a terrible rap I may add), which I then later performed, for her, to great amusement of everybody standing in the room! I cannot rap for sugar but the attempt was quite funny. Jude Law… now as much as I try to forget this interview, I can’t. It was one of my very first and as I was going to sit down on the chair opposite him to start the interview, I MISSED IT, resulting in me crotch diving to the floor with my skirt up by my waist. (HOW EMBARRASSING) Luckily we giggled for about 5 minutes and he made me feel much less embarrassed.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: With exceptional hard work you are credited with all your achievements. Do you believe that does the hand of Providence (Supreme Being) played a role in your success?

Ms. Poppy Jamie: Yes I am a great believer in fate but then at the same time I believe that you control your own fate too. From such a young age I always knew I wanted to work in television and be a TV host and as a consequence, the opportunities and windows of opportunity life threw at me, I was able to recognize and maximize them. Having a focus is crucial and once you have tried your hardest, I leave the rest up to the hand of providence.
