Victoria’s Secret PINK Model Rachel Hilbert Talks Fitness & Fashion!

Today we have with us the young and stunning Rachel Hilbert. When you meet her, you’d be delighted by seeing her enigmatic personality and cheerful attitude.

Discovered by an agency at 16 and signed by VS right out of her upstate New York high school, she’s gone from living the life of a dance-obsessed suburban teen to traveling the world for photoshoots and runway shows in just a few short years.

Rachel Hilbert is best known for being the official spokesmodel for Victoria’s Secret younger line, PINK as well as fronting campaigns for Urban Outfitters, Delia*s, Macy’s and Kohls. She has also been featured in international editions of many magazines, such as Cosmopolitan, Elle and Marie Claire.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have been a high school skier and dancer until you were discovered in 2011 at an agency’s open calls. You reached the pinnacle of success when you became the official spokesmodel for Victoria’s Secret younger line, PINK. Walk us through your incredible modelling journey so far.

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

The journey has been wild! I started modelling when I was almost 16, got signed to an agency and then started working immediately. It all happened so fast. I was in high school at the time focusing on dancing and skiing when my mom and I thought I should give modelling a try. I was lucky enough to be enrolled in a high school that was completely supportive and understanding of my schedule. My mom and I would have to get to NYC at the drop of a hat if I had a shoot or casting. Somehow amongst my busy schedule I graduated high school and the minute I turned 18, I moved into my own apartment in NYC. Everything just started to fall into place!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You are a world leading media personality, fashion model and a brand ambassador. Introduce us to a day in your life.

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

A day in my life can vary depending on what I have going on. Sometimes I am on set from sunrise to sunset! Sometimes I am lucky enough to travel to exotic locations where I get to shoot on a beach (those are my favorite!). If I’m not working, typically I like to have a leisurely morning where I wake up, make a delicious breakfast with lots of coffee. Then I will work out with my trainer, possibly meet a friend for lunch, explore NYC and then either end up on the couch with friends watching a movie or going out for a girl’s night out.

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine that you may wish to share?

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

I have a personal trainer I work out with 5 days a week. He constantly changes up my workout so I don’t get bored. We do everything from weight lifting to cardio to calisthenics. It’s important to switch it up so your body is forced to challenge itself.  I also like to mix boxing and Pilates classes into my workout routine.

Ms. Namita Nayyar: 

Do you take some special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit? Also, tell us about your diet prior to a Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

I have always lived a healthy lifestyle. Growing up an athlete and dancer I have always been into eating healthy to give my body the nutrients it needs. I also believe it’s important to indulge occasionally, if it’s in moderation. Leading up to the VS Fashion show I really focus on making all my own meals so I know exactly what ingredients are going into my food. I also try to sleep as much as possible and drink a lot of water to make sure I’m always hydrated.

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your skincare and haircare routine.

Ms. Rachel Hilbert: 

For my skin, I like to keep it simple. I use Cetaphil Face wash and La Mer Face Cream. I also go to an infrared sauna which helps get the toxins out of my body. I honestly don’t do much for my hair. I put almond oil in it but that’s about it! The most important beauty secret I have is water. I can’t stress that enough! Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

 It was your childhood dream to become a professional dancer. Share with us your 5 Favourite Dance Forms.

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

Yes it was! I wanted to be a Rockette so bad.

My favorite dance forms are musical theater, jazz, hip hop, contemporary, and ballet.

In 2015, you hosted a Spring Break event for PINK with Gigi Hadid and Cody Simpson. Would you like to share with us your experience hosting the event?

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

Every year Victoria’s Secret PINK throws the ultimate Spring Break event. The 2015 event was in Miami and Gigi and I hosted the most epic pool party. Cody Simpson performed a few of his new songs and DJ Irie djed. The event was amazing. There were giveaways, games and of course the best music. PINK knows how to throw a party!

Tell us about your current Top 5 Fashion Must-Haves.

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

A Chanel bag, a good pair of jeans, a cool fur jacket, vintage boots and some out of this world sunglasses!

Who has been your greatest influence and motivator in your success in the field of modelling?

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

Some of my greatest influences have been some of the past PINK models that are now angles including Elsa Hosk and Sara Sampaio. They have always given me great advice to be myself and enjoy every minute of this wild ride. As far as motivation goes, my friends and family are the best. They are always there for me to encourage and motive me to keep going!

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding fashion models, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of modelling?

Ms. Rachel Hilbert:

Be patient and work hard! It takes a lot of time and effort to succeed. Always remain humble and respectful to the people that have helped you along the way.

Get as much sleep as possible the night before, drink a lot of water so you are hydrated and your skin is glowing, practice your poses in the mirror before you get on set, don’t be shy and most importantly have fun!
