Actress Rose Williams Introduces Us To The Life Of An Actor In Hollywood

rose williams

Rose Williams is an up coming actress, best known for her work on A Quiet Passion, Reign and Changeland. Rose just finished filming as one of the leads opposite Sean Ben in series called Curfew.

Women Fitness’ President Namita Nayyar recently caught up for a quick chat with Rose on living her Hollywood dream.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Share with us your journey in the field of entertainment to making a mark for yourself?

Ms. Rose Williams:

I left school at 16, did a part-time art course and worked in a fashion store. I was sure I wanted to design clothes. My mum did part-time costume standby work, one day she needed help, I reluctantly did so and was surprised to find how interested I was with the processes on set. Seeing the acting I was so inspired I decided to read and learn and see if I could do it myself. It wasn’t easy but I was determined, after lots of reaching out I was lucky enough to find an agent who took a chance on me.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Being an actor, we’re pretty sure you lead a very challenging but a versatile life. Share with us a day in the life of Rose Williams.

Ms. Rose Williams:

The strange thing about this profession is the ebbs and flows……when I’m working it’s all consuming, I find so much joy with being so stimulated and occupied by the demands of the job. On off days I have to find the discipline to implement structure and be productive! I like to explore new places and learn new skills, I love to dance and draw and watch movies.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Fitness is an integral part of an actor’s life. Unfold the exercises that comprise your fitness regime?

Ms. Rose Williams:

It changes with the wind! I aim to exercise 4-6 days a week. I have always loved to dance so take classes when I can. Running makes me feel good so I’ll make a gangster playlist and run for as long as it feels good for that day. I find pilates fun. Recently I’ve been working with a trainer who’s introduced me to weight training, I feel so much stronger and the strength really helped with a couple of stunt scenes I had recently. I also love to kickbox…..I have phases, whatever I enjoy the most and feel like doing I will do.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

An actress it is expected to look good on & off-screen. What diet do you follow to detox or would advise your friends, in order to stay healthy and physically fit? Enlist your 5 favourite breakfast recipes?

Ms. Rose Williams:

If you feel good you look good. It’s that simple.

It’s important to remember that diets and desired body shapes come in trends and phases. If you look at fashion models throughout the 20th century it’s easy to identify. In the 60s it was ‘in’ to be petite, 80s amazonian, 90s waif-like, now it seems to be to have slim limbs and a booty (which is difficult to achieve without genetics or surgery) who knows what it will be in 10-20 years. Trends come and go but you always have your body. So I think the importance should be on nourishing your body with nutrient-rich foods and herbs rather than following a time-specific limited diet. Finding your balance, maintaining a healthy body. I would suggest making a habit of drinking water with lemon and tracking how much water you’re having, drinking herbal teas that taste good to you, and including lots of fibre, protein and healthy fats to your diet. Fats don’t make you fat! They help with brain function and focus and nourish your cells.

Avocados, nuts, cold-pressed oils like coconut, olive and flax- delicious. It’s easy to get caught up in the latest diet trend, the fact is, nobody’s body is the same. We all have different genetic make-up, different blood-types, different daily routines. You have to find what works for YOU and feels good for YOU! Foods from the earth are full of nature’s magic to keep you functioning healthily, whichever vegetables, fruits, herbs, nuts, pulses call to you- go for it. If you’re feeling sick or tired, google the medicinal value of herbs and see which ones you’d like to try. Same goes with exercise, if you enjoy nature and hiking- hike! If you like cardio- kickbox, swim, rock-climb, dance! if you enjoy weight training, pump those weights. I would advise to do what makes you feel happy.

Breakfast recipes:

– smoothie: almond milk, avocado, spinach, kale, cacao, spirulina

– coconut yoghurt with cacao nibs, blueberries sweetened with stevia

– avocado and poached egg on gluten free/sourdough toast with olive oil and chillie flakes

– omlette with veggies

– acai bowl- unsweetened acai packet blended with avocado or frozen banana, frozen blueberries, ‘healthforce’ earth powder and their vitality greens powder, topped with cacao nibs

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and beautiful hair – Share with us your skincare and hair care tips?

Ms. Rose Williams:

Thank you! I don’t use many products on my skin. I wash my face with organic natural soap and water morning and night and drink a lot of water during the day. I use a shea butter or coconut oil to moisturize my body. Hair……I need tips! I use argan oil on the ends and wash with different shampoos- still haven’t found a favorite.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With an audience of over 98k followers on your Instagram account @rosevictoriawilliams, who love and respect you, share a word of inspiration for them? Which is your favourite show?

Ms. Rose Williams:

Be kind to yourself, find what you enjoy and do it as much as you can, spend time with loved ones, focus on the solution not the problem. Take care of yourself always.

I have lots of favorite shows, this week it’s Rick and Morty.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

With the entertainment industry being so competitive, what tips would you like to share with upcoming actresses?

Ms. Rose Williams:

Corny as it sounds- be yourself. Your difference and uniqueness is your strength. I have found when I’ve tried to be something I’m not, it hasn’t worked. And to focus on the fun of it all, this is something I need to remind myself often!

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

Your career rocketed to fame in 2014 when you brought to life Princess Claude Valuar in the popular CW historical drama Reign. How do you feel about the huge response and appreciation that you have received for your portrayal of this challenging character?

Ms. Rose Williams:

So grateful. I had no idea people would respond with so much warmth and kindness to Princess Claude! I absolutely love meeting fans of the show, and seeing fan art on social media. It is humbling and warms my heart.

Ms. Namita Nayyar:

You have just finished filming as one of the leads opposite Sean Bean in an all-new series called Curfew. How is that going? Tell us more about your experience working with such great actors.
