Tatiana Weston-Webb is a professional surfer, who was the only rookie on the WCT (World Championship Tour) in 2015. Weston-Webb is 2016 ‘CT rank number 4.

She has impressed everyone with her ground-breaking performances and is working hard to participate at the 2020 Olympic Games.

While she prepares to take on greater challenges in the world of surfing, Women Fitness’ President Namita Nayyar caught up with her to bring to you to some surfing inspiration from the star player herself.

NN:

When did you first decide to take up surfing professionally?

TWW:

It’s funny because, for me, pro surfing was never a certain decision. I always knew if I really tried I could be on Tour and competing with the best, but I always pictured myself going to college and getting a degree. It came pretty quickly and unexpectedly. I was 17 and I had done really well in a few qualifying series events and didn’t know that I ended up one spot out of qualification. Then that following year, I got called up as an injury wildcard replacement in three tour events. That’s when I knew I loved the energy around those events and I wanted to be there permanently.

NN:

How often do you workout?

TWW:

I try to workout every other day. Surfing is a workout itself but our muscles are already so adapted to surfing, it really doesn’t feel like one. I surf every day twice a day for 2 hours each session.

NN:

Favorite: Cardio or strength?

TWW:

Strength! But recently I’ve been really into a spin class at home!

NN:

Define Hawaii in one sentence.

TWW:

Hawaii is a dream.

NN:

What does your breakfast look like? Regular & While Travelling.

TWW:

At home, my breakfast always starts with a protein packed smoothie bowl. My ingredients vary but I always put in my supplements. Youtheory Collagen Powder, MCT oil, Youtheory Maca powder, and reishi.

On the road we don’t always have blenders so it’s sometimes difficult to make smoothies, so then I just go simple, two eggs with avocado on toast.

NN:

Biggest surfing inspiration?

TWW:

My biggest surfing inspiration is Bethany Hamilton. She’s a great example of an athlete that lets nothing stop her.

NN:

Other than surfing, what other projects are you working on this year?

TWW:

I’m actually starting a vlog page, I’m really excited about that because I feel like I can begin to get more personal with my fans.

NN:

Favorite guilt indulgence?

TWW:

My favorite guilt indulgence is probably French fries, or ice cream!

NN:

What does Women Fitness mean to you?

TWW:

Women fitness means a whole lot to me, but in a few sentences, it means we are empowering ourselves by empowering our bodies, and being our best versions of ourselves that we can be.

NN:

How do you like to spend your days off?

TWW:

I like to spend my days off by spending it with my friends and family doing fun activities outside! I love to hike, foil, fish, and just adventure wherever we can!!!

NN:

Your choice of sunscreen?

TWW:

I’ve had a variety of amazing sunscreen brands that send me their sunscreens and I get to test them, but so far my favorites would be Cetaphil SPF 50 usually underneath a thick coat of EIR. EIR is an all natural zinc stick! Stays on for hours in the water.

NN:

How is your preparation for the 2020 Olympic Games going?

TWW:

NN:

3 Favorite destinations for surfing other than Hawaii.

TWW:
