Tess Annique Souray: Exceptionally Talent Model Talks About Her Fitness Routine, Diet and Beauty Secrets

Tess Annique is an American model. She has modeled for magazines such as Maxim and Cosmopolitan. She is married to Canadian ice hockey player Sheldon Souray. Annique was born in Corona del Mar to German immigrant parents. She grew up in southern California. German is her first language.

Annique graduated with a degree in fashion media from Southern Methodist University in University Park, Texas, and also studied nutrition at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She also earned a certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Annique has walked for Miami Swim Week and LAFW. Other than modeling, she also works as a health coach.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with exceptionally talented model Tess Annique Souray to talk about her fitness routine, diet, skin care, hair care and her success story.

Namita Nayyar:

You were born in Corona del Mar, Southern California. You graduated with a degree in fashion media from Southern Methodist University. You later started working as a professional fashion model. This propelled your modeling career to the height where you have been a leading fashion and glamour model. Tell us more about your journey of hard work, tenacity, and endurance?

Tess Annique Souray:

It’s been an amazing journey. I started modeling at 15. I’m proud of graduating university. My Parents always instilled in me the importance of education.

Namita Nayyar:

You studied nutrition at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, and also earned a certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Elaborate more about this educational achievement of yours and how this has made an impact on your personal and professional lifestyle?

Tess Annique Souray:

I started studying more about health and wellness once I became sober. I became interested in peak human performance and how I could become the best version of me. Nutrition and physical health is a large component of that.

Namita Nayyar:

You are a leading media personality, model, influencer, and brand ambassador. How do you manage such a remarkable multi-dimensional lifestyle?

Tess Annique Souray:

I like to wear a lot of different hats so to speak. I can get quite bored doing the same thing. I love working for myself and creating a life where my days are very diverse. No two days are the same. It’s what makes it fun and exciting.

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Tess Annique Souray:

The past few years I’ve been working with a personal trainer. My body does really well with weight lifting and circuit training. It’s been a trial and error of figuring out what works. This works for me. But everyone is different.

Namita Nayyar:

Do you eat a special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Tess Annique Souray:

I eat foods that make me feel my best. I eat a pretty Mediterranean diet. I don’t feel good when I have things like a heavy steak. But I feel great when I eat fish and light vegetables. I eat what makes my body feel good.

Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.

Tess Annique Souray:

I never go to sleep without taking my make up off first. One of my favorite parts of the day is the ritual of my nighttime skincare routine. I also love taking steam showers. When I’m home I take one a day. I think that really helps with a glow.

Namita Nayyar:

You go to different places and work with different professionals for your modeling career. For a model to adjust to different places with their own cultures, it must be difficult, and then to adjust to a modeling career in new locations and with different professional directors, what advice you can give to fellow fashion and glamour models in a similar situation?

Tess Annique Souray:

I think being adaptable is key. Also being organized and staying on top of everything. Knowing how to navigate new locations. It’s a dream job and I love being able to do what I do, so remaining grateful is truly the most important.

Namita Nayyar:

You have worked for iconic magazines like Maxim and Cosmopolitan. Tell us more about your experience working with them?

Tess Annique Souray:

Cosmo was my first shoot ever! I was 15 I think. Maxim was a dream comes true. I love working with them.

Namita Nayyar:

What is your Advice to young girls, who are trying to achieve success in the modeling industry?

Tess Annique Souray:

Treat your body right. Workout. Eat healthy. Don’t drink. And remember nobody really cares if you went to the party.

Namita Nayyar:

Fashion and Glamour Modeling involves doing bold photo-shoots. How you are so body confident?

Tess Annique Souray:

You build self-esteem by doing esteem able acts. You build courage by doing things that scare you. I’ve learned to trust myself over the years.

Namita Nayyar:

How do you train your abs? One secret to your toned body.

Tess Annique Souray:

Abs is made in the kitchen! My abs definition is directly correlated to how structured I’ve been with my diet.

Namita Nayyar:

Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep to a minimum.

Tess Annique Souray:

I try to limit these: (but I love pizza and pasta!)

  1. Chocolate
  2. Pasta
  3. Pizza
  4. Deserts
  5. Anything heavy or cream based

I love:

  1. Sushi
  2. Salads with chicken
  3. Avocado
  4. Sweet potatoes
  5. Oatmeal or overnight oats.

Namita Nayyar:

Five skincare myths.

Tess Annique Souray:

  1. I always wear sunscreen, even if it’s cloudy out.
  2. Hats are your must in the sun.
  3. No product will cure your skin if you treat your body poorly.
  4. Wellness is an inside out job.
  5. It’s never ok to sleep with a full face of make up on.

Your idea of a perfect date?

Tess Annique Souray:

Staying at home with my husband and our puppy watching a movie and cooking dinner or take out! I love a cozy night at home.

Namita Nayyar:

Today social media plays a vital role in putting your message across to your followers and fans. What is your message for followers on Instagram?

Tess Annique Souray:

Social media is wonderful because it connects us all. It’s a big part of my job at the end of the day, but it’s so important for us to take it with a grain of salt. I love being able to connect with other women on this platform. What a gift!
