Top 10 Best Female Basketball Players 2016 – Maya Moore

2. Maya Moore

Maya April Moore is an American professional basketball player for the Minnesota Lynx of the Women’s National Basketball Association. Moore was the winner of the 2006 and 2007 Naismith Prep Player of the Year.

After capturing back to back undefeated national championships in 2009 & 2010 at UCONN and captaining the team that set the NCAA record for most games won in a row (90), Maya was the NCAA Academic All-American of the Year and drafted #1 by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2011 WNBA Draft. As 2011 WNBA Rookie of the Year and an All-Star starter, it was only five months after graduating from college that she helped her team capture the franchise’s first WNBA Championship. That spring she added Euroleague Champion and Spanish League Champion to her resume and in the summer of 2012 she captured Olympic gold with Team USA.

After a second visit to the WNBA Finals, Maya joined the Shanxi Flame in China where she led the team to its first ever WBCA championship title. In 2013 Maya captured her second WNBA Championship, leading the Lynx in a sweep of the WNBA Finals where she was awarded the Finals MVP. Maya continued to excel in 2014, leading the WNBA in scoring (23.9 ppg), notching a WNBA-record 12 30+ point games and was named the league’s Most Valuable Player. Moore was also named MVP of the 2014 FIBA World Championships after leading team USA to their ninth gold medal .

In 2016, after winning her third WNBA title and being named MVP of the WNBA All-Star Game, Maya became the
first pro athlete (man or woman) ever to notch three titles, ROY, All-Star MVP and League MVP in only five seasons of play. With a robust social media following and an elite partnership portfolio of like-minded brands, she is already armed with fire, polish, integrity, acting chops (see Maya as Betty Lou – here) and a knack for winning titles, Maya is Generation Next; repping the elite Jordan Brand and with a robust partnership portfolio, including the Maya Moore Academy with LifeTime Fitness, she is already among the most elite, respected and accomplished athletes of her generation.
