Top 10 Remedies For Tanned Hands & Feet

Exposure to UV Sun rays increases to production of  melanin pigment responsible to give your skin dark complexion. One should never neglect the skin of hands and feet because just like face and neck they also encounter direct sun exposure.

Cucumber & Milk: Cucumber has got cooling effect that can soothe the skin and help in curing suntan. Also the Vitamin C present in cucumber will help in keeping the skin well moisturized. Take a cucumber and cut it into two halves. Grate half the cucumber and keep it in a bowl. To this, add 2 tbsp milk or milk powder and few drops of lemon juice. Mix well. Apply and let it stay till it dries. Wash with normal water. Apply this weekly to get the best results.

Almond & oil: Almonds are also very good at removing tan from the hands. Take 5 to 10 fresh and green almonds and grind them. Mix this paste with 5 drops of sandalwood oil. Apply this paste on the affected area. If fresh almonds aren’t available, buy almonds and soak them overnight. Now grind them next morning and follow the same procedure as you did for the fresh almonds.

Raw Potato: Cut a raw potato into half and rub its moist, exposed flesh on the affected areas. Let it dry and rinse off. Do this daily to see results. Or  apply the liquid paste of raw grinded  potato generously all over the affected skin area. Allow it to dry for around half an hour and then clean the skin with plain cold water.

Gram flour: This is very useful in treating sun tan. You can use the gram flour powder available in market or make a paste of whole green gram. Mix the gram flour in water and run it all over the affected skin area. Wait for twenty minutes before washing your skin with normal water. For better result, you can use rose water instead of plain water.

TurmericTurmeric is a natural skin care product that is capable of curing almost all common skin problems. Take turmeric and mix it with lemon juice. Stir well. Now add 1 tbsp of raw milk to it. Apply this on your hands and let it stay there till it gets dried up. Thereafter, wash it with cold water to see the visible results.

Papaya & Honey: The enzymes in papaya are known for skin renewal, whitening, exfoliation and restoration. Honey helps in moisturizing and softening the skin. For this treatment take ½ cup of ripe papaya pulp and mash it well, add a table spoon of honey to it and mix well. Apply on clean hand and feet. Allow to dry for 30 minutes. Rinse off with water.

Aloe Vera, Masoor Daal (Red Lentil) and Tomato: Masoor daal helps in clearing even the extreme of tanning. This, in association with aloe vera gel and tomatoes acts as a complete skin rejuvenator. Soak a table spoon of masoor daal in water for 20 minutes and then make a rough paste. Mix this paste with fresh aloe vera gel and 1 table spoon tomato pulp and massage on hand and feet. Keep for 20 minutes and rinse off with water.

Dry Orange Peel & Milk: Being a citrus fruit Orange is abundantly rich in Vitamin C. This is one of the essential skin Vitamins as it slows ageing, removes tan and improves skin tone. Using orange peels, you can make various face packs that can also be used for mild exfoliation. These face packs/scrubs are very natural, devoid of all the chemicals and are rarely prone to cause skin irritations. Grind dried orange peel to make a powder. Now make a thick paste with some milk and apply to clean hands and feet. Let it dry for 20 min and wash off.

Coconut Water and Sandalwood powder: Loaded with medicinal properties, sandalwood makes a cheap yet effective tan removal product when combined with the goodness of coconut water. Mix a tbsp of sandalwood powder with coconut water. You can add a few drops of almond extract too. Together they will not just rejuvenate and cleanse your skin, but also soothe your sunburns and remove tan naturally. Hence this is one of the best home remedies for removing tan.

Lemon Juice: This remedy is the easiest of all and can be applied anywhere and everywhere. Just take lemon juice and apply it directly on your hands. Let it stay for 15 minutes. Now wash it off with cold water. Lemon juice contains citric acid which effectively lightens the skin and fades away tan. However, this treatment can be a bit drying for your skin, so don’t forget to moisturize afterwards.
