Born and raised near Verona, she quickly expanded her horizons from Milan to global fashion capitals. Her impressive portfolio includes high-profile campaigns for major global brands such as Guess, Yamamay, Moncler, and Carrera jeans, alongside editorial features in prestigious magazines like Forbes, Vanity Fair, Elle, and Maxim.

Valentina Bìssoli is not merely a model; she stands as a true visual monument of contemporary fashion. Born in Verona, Italy, she represents a rare living testament to the timeless, high-contrast elegance that defined the golden age of Italian cinema, bridging the gap between classic heritage and modern global appeal.

An Iconic and Sculptural Presence

A “Visual Monument”: With her flawless, harmonious facial structure and striking proportions, Valentina possesses a sculptural beauty that commands attention. Like a classical work of art, her presence is powerful, permanent, and unforgettable.

The Contemporary Neorealism: She has revived the iconic “Mediterranean Goddess” aesthetic on the modern runway—characterized by deep, expressive eyes, rich dark hair, and an innate, effortless sensuality.

A Legacy of Authenticity: In an era dominated by artificial trends and heavy digital alteration, Valentina’s decision to preserve and champion her 100% natural beauty guarantees her place in fashion history. She proves that true perfection does not come from a laboratory, but from genetic harmony and fierce individuality.

A Timeless Icon

Valentina Bìssoli is destined to leave an indelible mark on the history of contemporary style. She reminds the world that while trends fade and digital filters change, a monument of authentic, raw Italian beauty remains eternal.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with Valentina Bìssoli – an exceptionally talented and accomplished internationally acclaimed Italian fashion model and actress. Here she talks about remarkable journey—her career launch at 17, her representation of Italian beauty at the 2019 Grammy Awards, her landmark #myconfidentbeauty campaign with Yamamay promoting unretouched natural beauty, and her advocacy for models’ rights through Law4Model.

Namita Nayyar:

You have been defined as a “visual monument” of contemporary fashion and the modern heir of iconic Italian beauties such as Monica Bellucci. How does it feel to bring this legacy and how do you personally define the essence of “Mediterranean beauty” in today’s fashion world?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Surely it’s a great legacy and certain things change your life forever, especially for me who grew up in a provincial village and now they see me as an almost unattainable entity. There are two implications of the coin to consider… beauty certainly helped me a lot and I am grateful for how I was born, I was very lucky. The pleasing physical appearance surrounds you with superficial or insecure people who can’t wait to belittle you. It forces you to constantly defend yourself from those who see you as an object or a trophy.

It puts the pressure on you to always have to be impeccable, without the right to a day of fragility. At the end of the day, true luck is not so much being born with a “perfect” face, but having the head and maturity so as not to be ruined by that same beauty. It’s not always easy because behind the spotlight, even for people “born lucky” the search for happiness and sincere affection is a struggle just like for everyone.

Namita Nayyar:

In an era dominated by digital filters and artificial trends, you have chosen to support 100% natural beauty. What inspired this commitment and what message does it send to an industry often criticized for promoting unattainable standards?

Valentina Bìssoli:

I am happy to be a promoter of this beauty, especially today that almost all young girls resort to the cosmetic surgeon to change the connotations. I see an impressive face approval. I’m not against surgery if done with criteria.

But today something is getting out of hand, especially with the constant and sometimes destructive reflection of social media. Fashion has become too accessible to everyone on the other hand and many more girls feel suitable to do this job. But the reality of the facts is not like that.

Namita Nayyar:

You beautified the pages of Forbes, Vanity Fair, Elle, Maxim and GQ and represented Italy as a special guest at the Los Angeles Grammy Awards. Which moment in your career seemed most surreal and how did those experiences shape your perspective on global fashion?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Surely the most exciting experience was being invited as a guest to represent Italy at the Grammy Awards in Los Angeles in 2019. It was a surreal experience to parade with the most important stars of global music at the side event Musicares and Clive Davis. My life has never been the same after this event. I have to thank the Recording Academy and President Neil Portnow for giving me this honor.

Namita Nayyar:

Your career began at only 17 years old through a “one-night model” contest organized by Triumph. Let’s go back to that moment: what did that young woman from Verona dream of, and how did you navigate the transition from a local competition to walking for Moncler and acting in campaigns for Guess and Yamamay?

Valentina Bìssoli:

I never thought at only 17 years old to be selected for that competition. I was a high school student with a lot of insecurities and seeing the selection confirmation email at the audition was a huge surprise for me. I never thought I’d do big campaigns like Yamamay’s. It was a dream, but I made it happen in front of a very tight global selection. I was very good at this.

Namita Nayyar:

You described being a plus-size model (size 40-42) as initially challenging, hearing comments like “you have too much torso” or “look at the hips” at castings. How did you turn what the industry once saw as limitations into your greatest strengths and what changed in your mindset that allowed your career to thrive?

Valentina Bìssoli:

The determination and the fact that I have always been my first big fan. I’m not talking about narcissism, I’m saying that I’ve always liked myself with my strengths and weaknesses. It’s the turning point to please others too. If you don’t love yourself deeply, who else can do it? Why would others invest in you if you’re not the first to do it?

Namita Nayyar:

You were chosen by Yamamay for their #myconfidentbeauty campaign with absolutely no photo retouching, a rare commitment to fashion advertising. What did that campaign mean to you personally and how did you feel about representing “real women” on such a visible platform?

Valentina Bìssoli:

The first campaign was a odd to natural beauty and total innovation for the “fashion” environment but it was the second “Sexy Innovation” advertising campaign taken by Giovanni Gastel to make me make a qualitative leap as a model. From semi-unknown to the face of an important advertising campaign. There no one could reiterate to me that I was a prominent model. Even without photo retouching so even more incisive.

Namita Nayyar:

You said that the secret of your physique is a healthy diet and a lot of exercise. You can guide us through a typical fitness week: what is your workout routine like and how has it evolved over the course of your career?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Initially I preferred cardio training, but then, after a few years, I really got results with bodybuilding training, so with weights. I currently train three times a week with weights and do very mixed workouts, both for the upper part of the body and for the lower part, buttocks and legs. I must say that I currently have the most beautiful physique I have ever had, so I advise all girls to approach the world of weights anyway, because it is a much more fun and stimulating workout, and that brings many more results.

Namita Nayyar:

You have become a supporter of body acceptance and self-love. How do you maintain the balance between the discipline of fitness and the embrace of natural curves, especially in a sector that has historically favored a narrower ideal?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Let’s say it’s hard to keep both. Fortunately, I have a genetic that allows me to, so, even if I train constantly and eat healthy, I still maintain the natural forms, in fact, I emphasize them. Basically mine is a genetic set up like this, so I do nothing but improve what I have already received from my DNA.

Namita Nayyar:

What is a typical day of food like for you? Are there specific foods or eating habits that help you maintain your energy levels and that “sculpture” presence for which you are known?

Valentina Bìssoli:

I just eat what I want, including carbohydrates: I love pasta and pizza, I really eat everything. I am very lucky in this and here too I have to thank my genetics. Fortunately I am very tall, so I assimilate everything I eat in a fair and balanced way. I’ve never been on restrictive diets and I’ve never tried to be something I’m not; I think this was my greatest luck.

It is an aspect that has also been appreciated by those who select models for different projects: you never choose a model just looking at the physique. Or rather, among so many beautiful girls you would risk passing as one of many, if it weren’t for the messages you transmit. I think I’ve always been very balanced in this.

Namita Nayyar:

What does “well-being” really mean to you beyond the physical: how do you nourish your mind and spirit together with your body?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Mind and body are part of the same person, so it’s important to train both. It is essential to also take care of your emotional and mental sphere, because it is the one that allows you to overcome difficult moments. To build a solid career you have to be able to resist in shaky moments: when things go well it’s easy, but it’s in difficulties, or when the phone doesn’t ring, that the true personality emerges.

I think I have learned over time to accept bad moments; it is only by embracing one’s own weaknesses that one can get back up. I’ve had many ups and downs, but so far I’ve always found the strength to overcome them, and this is the biggest victory for me. I am passionate about psychology, I follow Jung and many authors of personal growth: surely this has also helped me.

Namita Nayyar:

Your Mediterranean beauty – deep expressive eyes, rich dark hair, radiant skin – is often celebrated as timeless. How is your daily skin and hair care routine and what beauty philosophy guides your choices?

Valentina Bìssoli:

I choose natural products, good creams and I use the gua sha stone, which for me is optimal, without upsetting my nature. Fortunately I have good genetics and I just try to indulge it, without interfering or invading what I already am. This is fundamental for me.

Unfortunately I can’t give advice on practices I don’t do: I just give an opinion on my habits. Also for the hair and the skin I try to take care of them as much as possible with the right products, but always without upsetting anything. For now, let’s say that I can maintain a good level with excellent results.

Namita Nayyar:

You pointed out that beauty is basically an inner concept, rooted in self-esteem. What practices help you cultivate that inner beauty and confidence that shines through in your work?

As I said before, you have to be the first fan of yourself: this is the first thing to do. There are no shortcuts; there are no tricks, there is only this. From here then everything moves, because if you love yourself unconditionally and love your body for what it gives you and offers you, a virtuous circle is automatically activated; otherwise, this cannot happen. It’s essential. It seems like a cliché, but it’s the real rule for getting great results.

Namita Nayyar:

You are not only a model, but also a passionate entrepreneur and lawyer. You co-founded Law4Model to protect and empower the next generation of models. What inspired you to take on this role and what are the most critical problems that young models face today that you hope to face?

Valentina Bìssoli:

This foundation was born during the Covid period, when the models were at home and could not work, and it continued thanks to two very good lawyers, my support and that of my blog. It was a great satisfaction, because at that time I was able to do some very interesting webinars and compare myself with the greats of fashion; for me it was definitely a new experience that enriched me a lot.

I owe so much to this project and this idea, and I hope it can be an inspiration for the models: I hope they know that they can rely on these two professionals, who know the rights of fashion and models in depth and who can certainly help them.

Today there is a problem related to work, because most of the activities have moved to social media. Fashion has become much more accessible to many more people: if before you had to be selected through an agency, today you can do everything through an Instagram profile. The market has changed a lot and customers sometimes contact models directly.

This represents an existential problem for the sector, because today the model’s work is different: first of all, she has to be the one to act as PR and as an agent to herself. All this has taken away a lot of space from the models of the agencies; for this reason there is a lot of confusion and there is much less work than ten years ago, when I started.

Namita Nayyar:

Through your personal blog and advocacy work, you have built a platform that extends far beyond fashion. What message would you like young women, especially those who are thinking of modeling, to hear more?

Valentina Bìssoli:

My advice is not to give up on the first no, because it happens to all models. There is no model who has never received a rejection, so you have to learn to live with judgment and no’s. This is the hardest part, and that’s why many people give up; the person who manages to reach a certain goal, on the other hand, is the one who persists and never gives up. Sooner or later an opportunity comes for everyone, whether small or large – which is also dictated by luck – but when it comes you have to know how to welcome it, sense it and have the right strength to give your best in that single opportunity, maybe that of life, that presents itself to you.

Namita Nayyar:

You said you wanted to open an association for animals in distress and possibly explore a film career. What’s next for Valentina Bìssoli: what dreams are you actively working towards today?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Honestly, today I don’t know where fate will take me. I am working on different ideas and projects; the one related to animals is definitely a cause that I have also supported in the past through other associations and that I intend to carry out today. Although I have also worked on film projects, however, I do not think that cinema is in my near future. I really like sports and fitness, so I believe that my tomorrow will be directed precisely towards this sphere.

Namita Nayyar:

Looking back on your trip from Verona to the Grammys red carpet, if you could give a piece of advice to yourself 17 years old, what would it be?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Believe in yourself and don’t give up: even if sometimes those closest to you don’t believe in you, you have to believe in it anyway. I know it may seem difficult, almost impossible, but it is fundamental. I would never have imagined that I could get to Hollywood starting from my village; if I had said it out loud they would have taken me for crazy. Yet it happened, so dreams and dreamers always win in the end. This is my message.

Namita Nayyar:

The Women Fitness website and Women Fitness International Magazine are dedicated to empowering women through health, fitness and self-confidence. What message would you like to share with our global community of readers about embracing their unique beauty, cultivating inner strength, and living a balanced life?

Valentina Bìssoli:

My message is to love yourself as you are, accepting your flaws as well as your strengths. No one is born perfect: everyone works on different characteristics, so you have to give the best with what you have. This is the fundamental thing, without resorting to distortions: everyone must give their best for the qualities they possess and for what they have been given.

It’s obvious that I aim a lot to improve myself every day. Every day we can improve in something, and it is very important that this desire is alive in each of us, because we are on this earth precisely for this: to improve ourselves day after day.

Namita Nayyar:

If you could leave a thought with women all over the world about what it really means to be safe, healthy and beautiful in today’s world, what would it be?

Valentina Bìssoli:

Achieve peace in yourself and be fully aware of your nature and what you want to achieve: this, in my opinion, is the golden rule… and to enjoy life to the fullest without taking judgment into account. I don’t want to have regrets but many good memories.

Namita Nayyar:

You have created a powerful visual legacy through editorial features in prestigious magazines such as Forbes, Vanity Fair, Elle and GQ. In particular, your glamorous photo shoot for Maxim captured a striking balance between sophisticated elegance and modern charm. How was the creative energy on that set and how do you prepare to embody such a powerful and sculptural presence for the camera, the kind that makes you a “visual monument” of contemporary fashion?

Valentina Bìssoli:

I took the photo shoot for Maxim Francia in Berlin with a very good photographer named Mark Collins. In those cases, simply the moment counts: the instant captured by the photo and the feeling between the model and the photographer, which at that juncture almost looks like a flirt.

It is essential that the photographer really sees the model and makes her feel unique and beautiful, because that’s how she manages to give the best of herself. It’s not a real flirt, but an artistic flirt, a bit like what is created between a director and the actress.

The skill of the photographer, in fact, is not only technical but also expressive: it is in knowing how to bring out the best he can give from the subject. Then of course it is the others who judge the photo, and I am pleased that my shots have been immortalized for paintings or representations, thus reaching so many people and many different environments.

In Verona it sometimes happens to enter a wine cellar or a place and see a photo of me: this, in my opinion, is the most beautiful satisfaction. Or maybe see some representation of some artist who, around the world, takes inspiration from my photos. Here, for me this means being or becoming iconic. Not so much in the sense of a static figure, which is not beautiful, but for the ability to reach anyone, in any country and in any sector. This, in my opinion, is fundamental and is what really matters in a career. Small or big.
