Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with Valerie Arioto, America Softball Player, and Twice Gold Medalist Pan American Games who talks about her workout, diet, hair and skin care.

Namita Nayyar:

From an athlete and World Champion to coach and mentor. Walk us through your spectacular journey about how you were first introduced to softball?

Valerie Arioto:

When I was young, I played softball, soccer, basketball, volleyball, and water skied. Although I loved all of these sports, softball stuck because the community around the sport. We would play in league games with everyone from my home town and then have BBQ parties after. It was like a family. From here I continued to get opportunities to play at higher levels as my career went on, but I still continued to play because of the community around the sport and for my love of the game. To this day, these are still the same reason I continue to play!

Namita Nayyar:

You are best known for your tremendous success as a member of the USA Women’s Softball Team, winning medals in four WBSC World Championships. Tell us one of the most memorable moments from these Championships?

Valerie Arioto:

Although I can’t narrow it down to one memorable moment, the aspect that I will never forget is my teammates. All of the wins and games I have played in have been so memorable because of the amazing women I get to play alongside. We have travelled to some beautiful places and have competed in high level play together, and I can’t wait to make more memories on and off the field!

Namita Nayyar:

Introduce us to a day in your life.

Valerie Arioto:

My morning routine is essential to me and a way for me to start my day off grounded. I always start with morning coffee and a hearty breakfast, usually taking what time I have in the morning to journal or just get my mind right. I usually do a couple workouts of exercise and softball depending on the day, but I always try to do at least one active thing a day. And then I spend time with loved ones!

Exercises that comprise a part of your fitness regime or workout routine that you may like to share with our viewers? Five stretches everyone should do to prevent pain and injury.

Valerie Arioto:

I have been in love with riding my bike lately. It is a great way for me to get outside either alone or with friends and family. Everyone’s body is different and everyone enjoys different things so it’s important to do workouts that you love, want to do, and agree with your body and comfort level. For me it is changing it up so I am not doing the same thing every day!

Namita Nayyar:

Share the diet that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit? Five foods you absolutely love that are completely nutritious. If asked to cook, your choice of food would be?

Valerie Arioto:

I truly believe that everyone’s body is different and needs different things, but here are a few of my personal favorite foods: Avocados, Blueberries, Broccoli, Sweet Potatoes, and Salmon! I could make a meal out of just those!

Namita Nayyar:

Having to train constantly, how do you take care of your skin and hair? Five skin boosters. How would you style your hair for a performance to prevent hair fall down?

Valerie Arioto:

I take my skin care routine very seriously. Here is my personal routine, but again everyone is different: SPF is a must, moisturize, occasional exfoliation, self-care face masks, and I rotate other products. For my hair, I usually do a nice low ponytail since my sport involves a helmet.

Namita Nayyar:

You also made Team USA for the 2020 Summer Olympics which has got delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. How do plan for 2021?

Valerie Arioto:

I am just taking it a day at a time, there are so many uncertainties that it is more peaceful to stay present. I will continue to train and work on the mental game, but as for what next year holds, we will see!

Namita Nayyar:

Five tips to work upon while preparing to become a softball player.

Valerie Arioto:

My five tips to prepare: work on the mental game, work on you personally to be better in your sport, do other things besides your sport to stay motivated and to do other things you love, be active, and nourish your body!

Namita Nayyar:

Share a few words about the website Womenfitness.net and message for our visitors?

Valerie Arioto:
