Yulia Kozik: Exceptionally Talented Russian 3×3 basketball player, Winner of Olympic Silver Medal talks about her success story

Yulia Sergeyevina Kozik is a Russian basketball player for Dynamo Kursk and the Russian national team. She participated at the 2015 FIBA European U20 championships, 2016 FIBA European U20 championships, 2017 FIBA European U20 championships, winning a bronze medal. She qualified for the 2020 Summer Olympics, playing in a team with Mariia Cherepanova, Olga Frolkina, and Anastasia Logunova in the 3×3 tournament. She won Olympic Silver Medal.

Women Fitness President Ms. Namita Nayyar catches up with Yulia Kozik exceptionally talented Russian 3×3 basketball player and Winner of Olympic Silver Medal, here she talks about her fitness routine, diet, and her success story.

Namita Nayyar:

You were born in Moscow, Russia. You must have played basketball from a young age. You specialized in the 3X3 women’s basketball format. This propelled your career to the height where you have been at the top of the world as a leading women’s basketball player. Tell us more about this journey of hard work, tenacity, and endurance?

Yulia Kozik:

Since fifteen years of age I’ve played basketball 3 on 3 during summer holidays just for fun. At that moment it wasn’t an official sport. It was amateur. After some years it became the professional sport. At first it was hard to switch from classical baseball but then we got used to it and some practice games were enough for us.

Namita Nayyar:

You won the bronze medal at Europe U20 Championship in 2016 and 2017 at Matosinhos, Portugal. Tell us more about what had been a catalyst to make you the Russian leading Women’s Basketball Player?

Yulia Kozik:

I think it depends on a hard work and a professional coach. If the coach progresses, the player does it too. Never give up even if it’s very hard! As people says through tears and sweat.

Namita Nayyar:

You won the silver medal Olympic Games 2020 in Tokyo. Elaborate more about this exceptional achievement of your basketball playing career?

Yulia Kozik:

It’s unforgettable! Surely every sportsman has an aim to win the gold. In particular for us it was the First Olympic Games and the first one for 3 on 3 in general. It took us long to realize that we were participating in the Olympic Games and we won the Silver! After such moments you understand that all hard work was not vain.

Namita Nayyar:

You participated in the 2015 FIBA European U20 championships, 2016 FIBA European U20 championships, and 2017 FIBA European U20 championships, winning a bronze medal. Tell us a memorable moment in this tournament match and how this win in your career means special to you?

Yulia Kozik:

It was the first European tournaments for me. It was a great experience. I think the qualifying for the youth national team gives confidence for your further development.

Namita Nayyar:

You have been playing basketball from the year 2013 to 2017 for MBA Moscow, 2017 to 2019 for Inventa Kursk, and from 2019 to the present for Dynamo Kursk. How playing with these teams has sculpted your spectacular career and motivated you to reach greater and greater heights of achievement in your professional basketball playing career?

Yulia Kozik:

Each team had a coach who had his own basketball vision what helped me to progress as a basketball player. That’s why each team at some period of time put the necessary knowledge into me.

Namita Nayyar:

What exercises comprise your fitness regime or workout routine you may wish to share?

Yulia Kozik:

During the vacation I try to keep fit. Basically it’s a cardio workout for 30 minutes. These practices I take from the internet. And surely I use base exercises for the abs.

Namita Nayyar:

Do you take a special diet or have a strict menu that you follow to remain healthy and physically fit?

Yulia Kozik:

I try to listen to my body what it needs in some period of time. I don’t keep any diets but always try to control myself.

Namita Nayyar:

You have glowing skin and gorgeous hair. Share with us your hair care and skincare routine.

Yulia Kozik:

There aren’t any secrets more. If my skin gets dry, I use the moisturizing cream, after the practices and games I use the tonic for my face. It’s much easier to take care of hair to use the repair hair mask once a week.

Namita Nayyar:

Advice and motivational words to the inspiring and budding basketball-playing girls, who all are your fans and shall like to know from you for their climb to the ladder of success in the field of playing basketball?

Yulia Kozik:

Never distance from your Aim. The result of the work will be always visible!

Namita Nayyar:

How do you train your abs? One secret to your toned body.

Yulia Kozik:

As I said I do the basic exercises for abs without the stops in a row. It’s available in the internet.

Namita Nayyar:

Five foods you absolutely love and five you keep to a minimum.

Yulia Kozik:

Foods I love are Meat, cheese, vegetables, fruits and rice. Foods I keep to minimum Chips, scones , bread, sweets, semi-finished products.

Namita Nayyar:

Five skincare myths.

Yulia Kozik:

Myths:
The cosmetics must be the same brands.
Baby cream is the best.
Contouring cream.

Namita Nayyar:
