Studies conducted around the world have shown that the roots of burdock, sarsaparilla, dandelion, cooked Chinese rehmannia and Chinese wild yam increase the assimilation of iron, as do carrots and most green vegetables. To learn more about Herbs for Anemia, check out this week's article.

High-calcium diets seem to favor burning rather than storing fat. Researchers say this is because calcium stored in fat cells plays an important role in fat storage and breakdown. Calcium changes the efficiency of weight loss . In fact, study after study has shown that the people with the highest calcium intake overall weighed the least, and the people with the lowest calcium intake had the highest percentage of body fat. When overall calorie consumption is accounted for, calcium not only helps keep weight in check, but can be associated specifically with decreases in body fat. A low daily calcium intake is associated with greater tendency to gain weight, particularly in women. Researchers found that adolescent girls who consumed more calcium weighed less and had less body fat than girls who consumed the same amount of calories from other sources. Foods that are a good source of calcium include cheese, milk, ice cream, baked beans and other dried legumes, dried figs, broccoli, most dark-green leafy vegetables, and soft fish bones like those in canned salmon.

Fulfillment

How can your life be full if your thoughts and actions are empty? The effort and essence that you put into each day, will determine what you get out of the day.

Clever shortcuts which promise reward without effort, will only bring the empty facade of success. To experience the genuine joy of being alive, you must live life with all the grainy details.

The things you think you want are mere symbols of your true desires. Thoughts and words, and the things they address, can only point the way. Fulfillment comes in the experience, for which there is no substitute.

Meaning is found not in the rewards, for they are only tokens. Seek not to have the gold medal. Instead, seek to be the person who can win the gold medal. It is in the quest that you'll find the fulfillment which the reward represents.

Herbs for Anemia

Anemia is a medical condition in which the blood has a deficiency of red blood cells or of the hemoglobin these cells need to carry oxygen. Nutritionists feel that blood nourishing herbs aid in the absorption of iron as well as providing other benefits to the blood. And with lower doses of iron, the unpleasant side effects can be avoided.

One of the most widely recommended herbs for anemia is yellow dock root. Yellow dock is a common roadside weed. Yellow Dock's high iron content makes it beneficial for treating anemia and pregnant women.. The properties of this herb are alterative, depurative, laxative, purgative, cholagogue, and astringent. The primary chemical constituents of Yellow Dock Root include anthraquinone glycosides, tannins, resins, oxalates, and iron. It also contains varying amounts of phosphorus, vitamins A and C, and calcium. It helps to free up iron stored in the liver, thus making it more available to the rest of the body
